About Clint Cannon

We are the Cannon's (Clint and Lindsey). We currently live in Waller, Texas and spend our vacations up in Pagosa. After growing up spending summer's on my grandmothers ranch in Pagosa springs, I decided to purchase a ranch of my own. I am a professional rodeo cowboy and my wife is a Speech Pathologist from Canada. We are both avid skiers, hikers, horseback riders and love the outdoors. This is not just a house but a working ranch with horses, donkey's and cows. We would love to have you come and stay at our place and enjoy the tranquility of the mountains!

Clint Cannon purchased this cabin in 2009

Why Clint Cannon chose Southwestern Colorado

I bought this property for the seclusion in the mountains but also the easy access to both Pagosa Springs and Durango. I grew up spending many summers in Pagosa and always dreamed to have a place of my own in this beautiful part of the country.

What makes this cabin unique

Our property comes with a full wrap around porch to enjoy the beautiful days and nights outside, a creek that runs through the property and allows for great fishing and swimming, wildlife galore, the perfect view of chimney rock, and the surrounding forest.

Beautiful property! (just minor issues)

  • 3 of 5

We had a wonderful time during our trip there was alot to do nearby! We went to Durango for a day, we drove to Williams Reservoir which is incredibly pretty area. We went tubing and it was a blast. The owners seem to be lovely people and gave us some great recommendations about the area but it seems like they are very busy and don't have much time to tend to the property. The house is beautiful land and the house has an incredible view of a historic landmark. The land was a little more rugged than we expected. We were hoping to get in some bike-riding on the trails but they did not lend themselves to biking since they were rocky and very steep. The hot tub and the dishwasher were both broken and I understand that this type of things are inevitable but I would've appreciated a call ahead of time to let us know. There is no trash pickup on the property which is also not a huge problem but it was a little inconvenient to go research where to take the trash; google showed us the wrong place but luckily we got directions from the main office. It would have been really great to have an information sheet about the transfer stations with an accompanying map. I like to recycle and if I had known ahead of time that I could recycle I would've kept plastics in separate bags. Finally, the water came from the ground which gave it a SUPER strong smell of sulfur. I generally became accustomed to the smell but my kids didn't want to shower and I didn't like to wash my face for too long because of the smell. I think the smell in the winter is not noticeable. Again, the location is beautiful, quiet, remote but yet close to alot of attractions. The kids caught fish at Lake Capote which was a huge thrill for them! Our family had a really great trip and if we had only faced one of these issues, I do think this is probably a great place in the winter when the hot tub and dishwasher are both working and the smell isn't so strong but our stay was not timed well for the property.

Wonderful property to recharge!

  • 5 of 5

The house was a perfect place to recharge. Having the hot tub was key and the dog loved hiking around. It was so muddy though so we tried to keep the floors ok the best we could. It would be nice to have a mop and vacuum and a few cleaning supplies on hand that we could use during the mud season. Thank you so much! Hope to be back soon!

Beautiful home in a majestic setting.

  • 4 of 5

Our family of 7 (5 littles) couldn't have had more fun for a winter vacation. The house has plenty of places to sled and play in the snow, which was exactly what we were looking for. Inside the home has everything you need and it is remote without being too remote. We saw some deer and elk nearby as well. The kids had a wonderful time and are still talking about it.

Great Ranch for a Colorado Get Away

  • 4 of 5

This mountain paradise is truly just that. A well equipped, well decorated and perfectly placed ranch house keeps you comfortable while the vista off the front porch and the surrounding natural beauty of the Colorado mountains gives you every reason to just sit back, relax and take it all in.

The property offers so much that you may never want to leave but it is also very convenient to town and the many attractions in the area. If you enjoy fishing, hiking and other outdoor activities this is a perfect place and will exceed your expectations or if you just want to have a quiet stay and enjoy the amenities of the ranch house you will be just as satisfied.

My wife, our adventurous dog and I all had a fantastic time on this property and will definitely have it as our "go to" when returning to this area. It is a great property, with a great owner and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking to experience ranch style living in Colorado.

What you see is what you get !!!!!

  • 5 of 5

Wow ! Clint Cannon's cabin is really as good as the pictures ! The view that I awoke to, off of the front porch, was Chimney Rock. That makes every morning inspirational. This is a very nicely built cabin, clean, and I felt at home when I walked in. My "city " dog, enjoyed walks around the trails, and the wild life that she saw. This is the place to go for peace and tranquility.

Clint was accessible for anything and called to see if we arrived and had any questions.

This property is a great location between Durango and Pagosa Springs. The drive between Santa Fe and Pagosa Springs should not be missed. We also drove up to Williams Creek Reservoir which is beautiful, back country scenery.

My wife and I thourghly enjoyed our stay at the cabin.

  • 5 of 5

The property was as described, clean, well maintained and comfortable. Clint called a couple of times to make sure that everything was going well.

My wife really enjoyed the hummingbirds on the front porch. I saw bear tracks down by the front gate as well as a large cat track. The cabin is close to the Piedra River that flows through Ute reservation land and can be fished with a Ute permit which is easy to get.

We went to chimney rock national monument which is very close and worth checking out. There are several Anasazi ruins and the volunteer guides were very informative. We spent a day at Mesa Verde as well. Even though the entrance to the park is not so far away it's better to plan for an entire day.

also at the end of the day an adult beverage and a soak in the hot tub was very nice.

If you enjoy peace and quiet and want to stay away from the crowds at Pagosa Springs and Durango this is a great place.

We hope to return again.
