About Clint Cannon

We are the Cannon's (Clint and Lindsey). We currently live in Waller, Texas and spend our vacations up in Pagosa. After growing up spending summer's on my grandmothers ranch in Pagosa springs, I decided to purchase a ranch of my own. I am a professional rodeo cowboy and my wife is a Speech Pathologist from Canada. We are both avid skiers, hikers, horseback riders and love the outdoors. This is not just a house but a working ranch with horses, donkey's and cows. We would love to have you come and stay at our place and enjoy the tranquility of the mountains!

Clint Cannon purchased this cabin in 2009

Why Clint Cannon chose Pagosa Springs

I bought this property for the seclusion in the mountains but also the easy access to both Pagosa Springs and Durango. I grew up spending many summers in Pagosa and always dreamed to have a place of my own in this beautiful part of the country.

What makes this cabin unique

Our property comes with a full wrap around porch to enjoy the beautiful days and nights outside, a creek that runs through the property and allows for great fishing and swimming, wildlife galore, the perfect view of chimney rock, and the surrounding forest.

Beautiful, relaxing, perfect getaway!

We loved every minute of our stay! The cabin is so secluded for privacy, but the town is close by. We loved the scenery, the shopping and the restaurants! Beautiful place!

Semi-Rustic Relaxing Get-away

  • 4 of 5

Great place to get away and relax with no cell coverage! Awesome! Clint the owner really helpful with some local questions and information. The front porch has fantastic views of Chimney Rock with accommodating rocking chairs and a cot. Pagosa Springs is an easy 20 minute drive if you need to reboot at the hot springs spa and resort or restock up on groceries. Well water does have a sulphur smell so be sure to bring enough drinking water. Wonderful wildlife viewing surrounding the cabin, acreage and adjoin areas.

Quiet, close enough to everything to be convenient but far enough to relax and have some privacy.

Couldn't ask for a better cabin. Everything you need with plenty of space indoors and out. Responsive and friendly owner and wonderful wildlife viewing right off the front porch.

Great family get-away!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our week long stay at the cabin! Thank you to the Cannon family for sharing their home! We took our boys (ages 10 and 7) and were never at a loss for adventures to keep them busy. We hiked, fished, swam, tubed down the river, explored the Piedra Falls and Chimney Rock, roasted marsh mellows, rented a boat, and just enjoyed family time. The cabin was just as described and in a great location. We will be back!

Beautiful property! (just minor issues)

  • 3 of 5

We had a wonderful time during our trip there was alot to do nearby! We went to Durango for a day, we drove to Williams Reservoir which is incredibly pretty area. We went tubing and it was a blast. The owners seem to be lovely people and gave us some great recommendations about the area but it seems like they are very busy and don't have much time to tend to the property. The house is beautiful land and the house has an incredible view of a historic landmark. The land was a little more rugged than we expected. We were hoping to get in some bike-riding on the trails but they did not lend themselves to biking since they were rocky and very steep. The hot tub and the dishwasher were both broken and I understand that this type of things are inevitable but I would've appreciated a call ahead of time to let us know. There is no trash pickup on the property which is also not a huge problem but it was a little inconvenient to go research where to take the trash; google showed us the wrong place but luckily we got directions from the main office. It would have been really great to have an information sheet about the transfer stations with an accompanying map. I like to recycle and if I had known ahead of time that I could recycle I would've kept plastics in separate bags. Finally, the water came from the ground which gave it a SUPER strong smell of sulfur. I generally became accustomed to the smell but my kids didn't want to shower and I didn't like to wash my face for too long because of the smell. I think the smell in the winter is not noticeable. Again, the location is beautiful, quiet, remote but yet close to alot of attractions. The kids caught fish at Lake Capote which was a huge thrill for them! Our family had a really great trip and if we had only faced one of these issues, I do think this is probably a great place in the winter when the hot tub and dishwasher are both working and the smell isn't so strong but our stay was not timed well for the property.
