Best ranch avalible in Colorado. This 1300 square foot cabin is a brand new construction on 110 acres and comfortably sleeps 6 people with 2 full baths. There are 2 bedrooms, one with a Queen bed, the other with queen bed and a fold out couch in the living room. The cabin has a wrap around porch for great views which look directly out towards Chimney Rock. There is 1.5 miles of a year-round fly fishing stream with an area to go swimming on hot days. The property also has many hiking, biking, and horse back riding trails. The property is surrounded by the San Juan National Forest. Enjoy endless stars at night, beautiful wildlife roaming the property and being only 20 minutes from Pagosa Springs.
We are the Cannon's (Clint and Lindsey). We currently live in Waller, Texas and spend our vacations up in Pagosa. After growing up spending summer's on my grandmothers ranch in Pagosa springs, I decided to purchase a ranch of my own. I am a professional rodeo cowboy and my wife is a Speech Pathologist from Canada. We are both avid skiers, hikers, horseback riders and love the outdoors. This is not just a house but a working ranch with horses, donkey's and cows. We would love to have you come and stay at our place and enjoy the tranquility of the mountains!
Clint Cannon purchased this cabin in 2009
I bought this property for the seclusion in the mountains but also the easy access to both Pagosa Springs and Durango. I grew up spending many summers in Pagosa and always dreamed to have a place of my own in this beautiful part of the country.
Our property comes with a full wrap around porch to enjoy the beautiful days and nights outside, a creek that runs through the property and allows for great fishing and swimming, wildlife galore, the perfect view of chimney rock, and the surrounding forest.
This mountain paradise is truly just that. A well equipped, well decorated and perfectly placed ranch house keeps you comfortable while the vista off the front porch and the surrounding natural beauty of the Colorado mountains gives you every reason to just sit back, relax and take it all in.
The property offers so much that you may never want to leave but it is also very convenient to town and the many attractions in the area. If you enjoy fishing, hiking and other outdoor activities this is a perfect place and will exceed your expectations or if you just want to have a quiet stay and enjoy the amenities of the ranch house you will be just as satisfied.
My wife, our adventurous dog and I all had a fantastic time on this property and will definitely have it as our "go to" when returning to this area. It is a great property, with a great owner and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking to experience ranch style living in Colorado.
Wow ! Clint Cannon's cabin is really as good as the pictures ! The view that I awoke to, off of the front porch, was Chimney Rock. That makes every morning inspirational. This is a very nicely built cabin, clean, and I felt at home when I walked in. My "city " dog, enjoyed walks around the trails, and the wild life that she saw. This is the place to go for peace and tranquility.
Clint was accessible for anything and called to see if we arrived and had any questions.
This property is a great location between Durango and Pagosa Springs. The drive between Santa Fe and Pagosa Springs should not be missed. We also drove up to Williams Creek Reservoir which is beautiful, back country scenery.
The property was as described, clean, well maintained and comfortable. Clint called a couple of times to make sure that everything was going well.
My wife really enjoyed the hummingbirds on the front porch. I saw bear tracks down by the front gate as well as a large cat track. The cabin is close to the Piedra River that flows through Ute reservation land and can be fished with a Ute permit which is easy to get.
We went to chimney rock national monument which is very close and worth checking out. There are several Anasazi ruins and the volunteer guides were very informative. We spent a day at Mesa Verde as well. Even though the entrance to the park is not so far away it's better to plan for an entire day.
also at the end of the day an adult beverage and a soak in the hot tub was very nice.
If you enjoy peace and quiet and want to stay away from the crowds at Pagosa Springs and Durango this is a great place.
We hope to return again.
Summer stay was wonderful. Wrap around porch was amazing with fantastic views. Owner was extremely hospitable in accommodating all questions and situations. Pagosa springs is just a short 20 minutes away with tons of activities to do. Chimney Rock views were pretty cool. Hiking trails on property were well managed and cleared for exploration. Hot tub was great for evening relaxing. Nearby fishing lakes! Humming birds were a delight to watch on front porch. Well stocked essentials in the kitchen and bathrooms.
Everything from the kitchen in the cabin to the hours of hiking around the property was absolutely perfect. The weather was cooperative the entire time allowing us to explore the surrounding area, make s'mores near the fire under a starlit sky, and enjoy a gorgeous sunrise with rabbits, birds and prairie dogs galore! The Cannon family were extremely helpful and kind the entire time and we hope to pay another visit soon. Defintiely highly recommend!
After researching hundreds of possible rental cabins, we chose this property for our week long vacation and could not have been happier with our choice! The owner was very helpful and responsive to our inquiries. The cabin itself was very comfortable and had everything we needed/wanted throughout our stay. We were not able to do as much hiking on the property as we had hoped due to weather, but what hiking/exploring we did on the property was beautiful. It was a bit warm for many of the larger wildlife, but we did see plenty of bunnies, turkey and groundhogs (we think?). We loved that it was close to many area attractions (Mesa Verde, Durango-Silverton train, hiking trails) and yet secluded enough to let us completely unwind in our down time. We're already talking about our next trip to this cabin. Thanks so much for a wonderful vacation!!
Located less than 5 miles from Lake Navajo and Lake Capote for boating.
