Wonderful 3 bedroom/ 3 bath house with 3 living areas. Perfect for 3 couples or family groups with private space for all. The main level has master bedroom with king , bath with jacuzzi and separate shower , kitchen and dining area, and access to large deck. The upper level has 1 bedroom with queen, sitting area with futon , tv and bath with shower-tub combo. The lower level has a large bedroom with queen, bath with shower, and the big family room with new bunk beds, tv, checkers table, and long sofa for 1 if needed. The covered deck on back has large square table for 8 for outside dining. It is a great place to look at the birds, rock away the afternoon, play games, or use the internet.
Georgia couple with two grown sons who love the mountains and all it has to offer. We went to South Carolina and Georgia with one son going to Auburn and the other going to Georgia. With the addition of a daughter-in-law we got more diversified with Clemson and College of Charleston. Needless to say, football games are colorful at our house.
Alicen Phillips purchased this cabin in 2004
We loved the fact that it had 3 living areas, perfect for giving our guests or family a quiet place of their own. The first year we bought the house we spent New Years with our 2 sons and family. It was great, on the main level the guys were watching nonstop football, the girls were upstairs watching the parade and I was downstairs making a dust ruffle and watching whatever I liked.
Very close to town, about 1.2 miles to center, just a stroll down to Mirror Lake to fish or watch the ducks. The front porch has 2 rockers which sometimes get moved to back deck for long lazy afternoons with the cool breeze blowing.
Took a rafting trip with a great crew, and had a blast. This spacious retreat is exactly what the doctor ordered. Sitting on the raised back porch with my coffee it felt like I was in a luxurious treehouse. About 5 miles from Highland shopping district, and 45 min away from Southeastern Expeditions. I Will be back next year.
When you pull up it looks like a quaint little mountain cabin but with 3 stories looks are deceiving. Tons of room and very close to town great for couples, a group of friends or a large family. Had a fun night down town went rafting and hiking to nearby waterfalls.
Nestled in the woody landscape of Highlands, NC this cabin was the perfect cozy get away. It provided great convenience to Highlands downtown with the ambiance of the wilderness. I really enjoyed the mountain air from the back porch with it's great view. It is really hard to beat the outdoor experience of trails, rafting, vistas and waterfalls combined with the variety of shopping and dining in Highlands, NC. And, I would recommend this great cottage to enjoy this special place anytime!!
I visited this house with a couple of friends and this place was exactly what we wanted. It had all of the accommodations we wanted/needed and the view was perfect. There's no house particularly close, so you're not going to be disturbed by those around you, which is a plus for those looking for a little privacy as well. We were able to hike, raft and visit some local hangout spots in the two-day period we visited, so you're within driving distance of fun activities. I would definitely recommend you stay here when you visit the Highland's area.
Very spacious place with plenty of room 8+ Adults. Big and roomy elevated back porch with a great view. 5 min drive from downtown Hihglands NC. DT has great shopping, dining, etc. Clean and well maintained property by owner. Would recommend to anyone looking for a mountain get away!
We would highly recommend this vacation house for a large family. Plenty of room and comfortable. House had all the amenities for an enjoyable visit. Close to town for shopping & restaurants. Would stay again.
Highlands has wonderful restaurants and the shopping is exceptional with many varied stores. Walking and hiking trails are numerous in the area with a guide in the cabin. The scenery is majestic with 10 waterfalls within 20 minutes. River rafting on Nanatahala and Chattooga about 1.2 hours away. Biltmore House in Ashville only 1.5 hours, a must see NC attraction.
