In the nearby village you will find restaurants, pizzerias and a supermarket.
The House is very private with views into the hills, on a 3 hectare plot.
The area is historically very interesting and beautiful.
The unspoilt surroundings are close by to medieval and Romanesque villages, where you can visit delicious rural restaurants, also you can make wonderful excursions in the Apuan Alps. Lucca and Pisa are close, as well the wonderful sandy beaches of the Versilia, the elegant Forte dei Marmi, the artist town
Pietrasanta, and Florence. Then also you can visit the Puccini summer festival.
Ramona was extremely helpful and thoughtful from before the holiday right through till the end. The house is beautifully renovated and tastefully decorated with very practical facilities, comfortable beds, excellent bathrooms. The open fire made us very cosy at night. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and peaceful, we saw a wild boar and heard owls at night. The only negative is the access road, it is quite steep and windy and unsealed. We arrived late and were grateful that Ramona led us in safely but another night my father ran his car off the road and the car had to be towed out. Nobody hurt and car undamaged but I would recommend hiring a 4WD or being a confident off-road driver if you wish to stay here. But it is very much worth it if you do!
We had a wonderful stay at le Sorgenti. It can be reached by a partly paved and stoney road of about 1,5 km. The house is built at the side of a hill with great views. The four bedrooms are great and the kitchen / dining room as two doors at the ends, with very nice outside sitting areas for eight people. Romona, the owner lives close, but it will take her about 20 min to reach the start of the road. So give her a call well before you arrive (I forgot to give her a call, but she was there in no time). The house has a very large surrounding area /woods and is very, very quiet indeed! "We will be back", may tell you about how much we liked it!
We stayed here for a week and absolutely feel in love with the place. The property is beautiful and the location is amazing. It was wonderful to start the day with breakfast on one of the patios, the only sound being the bird song. Again in the evening after a busy day of sightseeing it was so relaxing to watch the sunset from the other patio with a glass of the local wine and enjoy the vistas. The property also has a plunge pool, which we thoroughly enjoyed using to cool off. The location is perfect, just far enough away to enjoy pure tranquillity but a very short drive away from the nearest town.
The standard and decoration of the property is first class and fully equipped with every facility needed to make the stay perfect, including an excellent cooker, a dishwasher and washing machine which makes life easy whilst on holiday. There are plenty of sun loungers around the grounds to relax on and a barbecue for alfresco dining. Wonderful!
It felt like home from home and we will definitely be re-booking this beautiful property.
At arrival after driving through a chestnut wood the house presents itself in the middle of a spacy clearing, on a slightly sloping area surrounded by old trees on one side and giving sight to the impressive panorama of the near Apuane-Mountains. The spacious kitchen and living-rooms of the ground floor are comely and provide a homely and welcoming atmosphere, everything is very practically and tastefully furnished, with an individual and warm touch. Our room had direct access to the trimmed grass of the well-kept garden outside, grapes growing right into our mouths. The rooms It was wonderful and inviting. Lucca and its sights are easy to reach. Restaurants are not far, but the cooking and eating in the place itself was a lot more enjoying. We slept very well in our nice and cosy room and enjoyed a wonderful relaxing and inspiring week.
Everything was perfect. The house has an amazing charme and beauty, we felt all in paradise. The children where in and out into the garden free as they always should be, jumping in the pond as wild pirates, while we discussed life drinking wine in the shadow of the cherry tree.
We will go back next year, can't wait to be there!
The house lies between Lucca and the sea side. It's just 10 min. drive from the medeaval town of Lucca, close as well to less known towns as Camaiore and Pietrasanta. Of course Florence (60 min) and Pisa (40min) can be visited.. The sandy beach of Versilia takes 20 min.by car. The Puccini Summer Festival is 15 min. drive. The whole area is interesting historically and from a natural point of view. If you love walking, the Alpi Apuane are half an hour far, and you can see them in the distance from the living room.
The outlet In Barberino del Mugello for unforgettable shopping is only 1and half hour far!
