About Gary or Jill Tubbs
After having lived in many nice areas of Los Angeles, we discovered Los Feliz in 2000 fell madly in love, and decided to settle down. We bought this home because of the prime location, and because it was our favorite building on the street. We love living under the magnificent 4,000 acre Griffith Park with its two 18 hole and one 9 hole golf courses, being within minutes from the many culturally diverse restaurants, numerous freeways, the subway and thus ALL of greater Los Angeles. We love walking in the quiet, surrounding neighborhoods where the filmmakers from the '20's built their homes and studios, the air fragrant with orange blossoms and jasmine. Just down the street are Walt Disney's first offices and Charlie Chaplin's theater, still operating as The Vista. Barnsdall Park, with its Frank Lloyd Wright home is a ten minute walk south and on Wednesday's we picnic on the hill after picking up quesadillas and fresh avocados at the Farmer's Market in the parking lot below. Weekly, we walk 'the stairs' that wind through homes in the hills north of us, up to Griffith Observatory. Some evenings we walk down the block to Skylight Books to hear an author read from their newly published book, or catch the latest movie at the Los Feliz 3. This is truly a dream neighborhood to live in, whether it's for ten years or ten days. Some members of our household speak fluent Mandarin Chinese, Castilian Spanish, and central Texan, should you need translators.

Why Gary or Jill Tubbs chose Los Feliz
One reason we love this location is that we can leave our car parked and walk to so many activities. We leave for the movies 5 minutes before the movie starts and don't miss the previews or credits. We can walk to 10 or 15 restaurants within as little as 2 minutes of home in a well lighted friendly neighborhood. It is not unusual to have filming activity and celebrity sightings in the neighborhood. We loved the charming details of the property, the many windows, the coved ceilings, the crown molding, the ancient fig tree and grape vine in the backyard, the HISTORY of the place and the area. And the ability to all live as a family under one roof, to raise a family in a beautiful home and a friendly neighborhood.

This property is so charming and inviting!
The location, in Los Feliz, is perfect! We were able to walk to get groceries and to get breakfast, lunch, or dinner so easily! It's nice not to have to drive for these things as parking is a challenge anywhere in LA ! We stayed here several days before Christmas and when we checked in the owners had set up a beautiful Christmas tree in the corner of the living room. It was a sweet and homey touch and made us feel so welcome. The owners are very close by and were available right away for any questions and help. I wanted to make Christmas cookies so Jill and Gary brought us some extra supplies! The owners have the rental set up with everything you may need and even more. So accommodating! You'll just love it here! Thank you to Jill and Gary...you guys are the absolute best!
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review. You’re welcome to bake cookies at our house anytime. Thanks for sharing them with us. We look forward to your return
This was a perfect place for us to stay! It was beautifully decorated, provided all the conveniences of Home, felt warm and inviting, phenomenal location and the owners were a delight. I will definitely stay here again. Thank you Gary and Jill for sharing your property with others !
Los Feliz Property
The property is centrally located and is fully equipped in every way. The hosts were immediately responsive when I couldn’t locate coffee filters. Nothing was lacking, the property was perfectly clean and appealing. I would return without hesitation.
It was ideal for us. Accommodations, location and great landlords who care about their renters.
Perfect Family Vacation at Casa de Los Feliz
We've always loved visiting Los Angeles but were a bit nervous about returning with our one-year-old son, especially since we don't drive. Casa de Los Feliz proved to be the perfect choice for our first family vacation. The L.A. Zoo, Griffith Observatory as well as Pony Rides and great picnic places in Griffith Park were quick Uber rides away. We loved walking just one short block to get to the great restaurants, cafes and shopping in the village. We especially loved sitting out in the back yard. Our little guy was thrilled with the sandbox and the toys that Gary and Jill were kind enough to share, and my husband and I loved sitting out with a glass of wine under the beautiful lighted grapevines and fig tree after the kiddo was in bed. Thank you to Gary and Jill for your incredible hospitality. The added convenience of a high chair, a Pack n Play, toddler dishes and cutlery, and books and toys made our first family trip unbelievably stress-free. You really thought of everything! The house is sparkling clean, well-loved, and even bigger and more beautiful than it appears in the photos. We look forward to returning again next year.
