About Phyllis & Ian

We moved into our newly renovated home and built the semi-detached casita in 2003, when we became empty nesters. We always loved the area (Ian grew up in the house next door) and now that we live here, we enjoy everything this property has to offer with its privacy from the city, beautifully landscaped yard, forest and panoramic lake views and beach access.

Phyllis & Ian purchased this house in 2003

Why Phyllis & Ian chose Okanagan Valley

We fell in love with the view of this property and take great pleasure in knowing that it still affords easy access to downtown Kelowna and everything that the Okanagan has to offer. We enjoy the solitude, serenity and privacy - while living in a friendly neighbourhood.

Our home and the property provide an unbelievable panoramic view of Okanagan Lake, that has to be seen to be believed. We never get tired of sitting on our deck in the Kelowna sunshine and taking in the view; whether it's winter, summer, spring or fall.

What makes this house unique

While renovating our home in 2004, we lived for 6 months in the casita. Although we love our home, the coziness of the casita is something we still miss.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you for the warm welcome. We loved our stay at your beautiful Casita. Thank you so much for sharing with us, the views are breathtaking. Looking forward to be back again next year.

Beautiful Okanagan Casita

  • 5 of 5

The view was amazing. Phyllis and Ian were very welcoming and allowed us to have our privacy. The beach was just a few steps away and the house has absolutely everything you would need for a comfortable stay.

Nothing beats the location and the amazing views of the lake.

The only thing I would suggest is packing a lot of food because the grocery story is a little bit of a trip away (25 minutes) and the roads are windy.

Owner's Response: The location and view truly are wonderful. We're happy that the road construction in the area is almost at an end so that trips to the grocery store and other amenities will be only 10 to 15 minutes.

WOW!

  • 5 of 5

We couldn't have asked for a more ideal spot for an Okanagan getaway. The casita has huge glass windows (the better to see the lake and wildlife!), includes everything you could want, and is decorated in such a tasteful way. The setting is just as awesome as it appears in the photos. There is a huge deck where you can relax and enjoy the gorgeous view of the lake--so quiet and private--as well as benches with a fire pit a few steps away for an even better vantage point. You can also walk to the beach through the lovely garden and hang out there--you practically have it to yourself! Phyllis and Ian were such warm and generous hosts who shared their property as if we were old friends. We rent through VRBO often and this is definitely one of our best "finds".

Beautiful View

  • 5 of 5

Great place to stay with amazing view of the lake. We had a refreshing swim in the lake, at the park, just a short walk down the path from the suite. The suite was well equipped with everything we needed. It was a quiet place to spend the weekend. We highly recommend the suite.

Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Phyllis and Ian welcomed us very nice, they are very friendly and answered all our questions.

They didn't disturb our privacy though, and been there only when we asked for it.

The place is very nice, not big but good for a couple or couple with a child.

The view near the Casita is amazing, you have the option to use the private beach a few min from the Casita!!

The place though is 25 min from city center of Kelowna, we didn't mind.

the deposit was returned with no issues.

We highly recommend this place!

Thank you Phyllis and Ian

Gorgeous deck perched over the lake- fantastic swimming & views

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week at the beginning of July 2015. The tardis-like Casita was perfect (we have 2 boys aged 12 and 14), well-equipped and clean. The master bedroom was very comfortable, but the sleeping arrangements were a little tight for the boys (shared futon) --we knew this ahead of time and bought an air-mattress for our younger son. We loved the location-- everything in town was very accessible, just a 15-20 minute drive away, yet the Casita is in a relaxing, quiet spot. We made good use of the BBQ and ate all our meals on the deck which is perched just above the lake and well-shaded by beautiful trees towering overhead. We swam in the lake every day, in the late afternoon, taking a short path directly down from the property. Ian and Phyllis were very welcoming and great hosts-- I'd sent a few emails prior to our visit with questions and they got back to me promptly and also helped us plan some activities. We will come back! We rented a boat on the lake, hired bikes and cycled over the trestles in the Kettle Valley, visited a couple of wineries, played golf and (a longer excursion) hiked up Enderby Cliffs to see the eagles.

Nice Quiet Place To Stay

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed here for a week in July and we didn't have a single complaint ( maybe just more towels ) The suite was a nice size for a family of 4 ( kids age 13 and 9 ) it had nice new ceramic tile floors, shower and comfortable bed. A nice deck right outside the door with a patio table and BBQ too. Theres a hot tub and great views of the lake as well. Ian and Phyllis were super nice hosts who made us feel at home. This place is right on the edge of Kelowna and is really in an isolated, quiet spot so if youre planning on spending most of your time in the heart of Kelowna, its about a 20 minute drive to get there. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to just kick back and relax. A+
