Everything in St Ives is accessible on foot. Household provisions, fruit and vegetables, and essentially, the fishmongers - all within walking distance as is the local Cornish deli (in Fore Street). Closer is the corner shop known as 'Norways'.

Stroll around 'down long', the old fisherman's quarter, to the 'Island', a grassy peninsula with a chapel on top. Hidden in its lee is Porthgwidden beach, perfect for paddling. Walk north along the rocky shore toward the open sea where generations of children have enjoyed crabbing at low tide among boulders.

Buy an original work of art from the New Millenium Gallery (Street-an-Pol opp. the tourist office) specializes in abstract and landscape inspired paintings. Other good galleries are the Belgrave and Wills Lane (both off Fore St) the Porthminster Gallery (Fernlea Terr) the Salthouse (Norway Sq) and St Ives Ceramics (Fish St).

Shoes at Jan Jansen in Fish St are quite simply works of art in leather! Designer jewelery at the Trelyon Gallery.

A great property in a convenient location

We have just returned from a two week stay in this beautiful house, in a very convenient position to the town and beaches. The house is very well equipped, the beds very clean and comfortable, lots of towels provided.

We arrived after a long journey to find a wonderful welcome pack with wine and goodies even a vase of flowers. Any problem that arose was quickly dealt with.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this property especially for large family groups, our grandchildren were particularly pleased with the wifi and Sky bundle.

Excellent views of St Ives Bay. Good facilities.

The house is well presented with lots of space every where. Views from the master bedroom and 2nd floor front are stunning. Every day started with coffee sitting in the bay window overlooking St Ives bay and the Town harbour.

Everything we needed was available. Including a stairgate. We forgot ours.

Cooking was great. The kitchen has modern hob, oven and ice making fridge freezer. There are so many rooms you forget which one your using.

Very good for large groups and families and one of the best houses we have aver used and hoping to stay again.

Lovely house for a large family holiday

Orla-Mo is close to the town centre, down one side of the hill. And very close to Porthminster beach down the other side of the hill. Thanks to the hill, it really does have spectacular views. Our group aged 8-74 coped with the hills fine, and it's worth it for the view and peacefulness.

The house itself is well appointed, clean and comfortable. We bbq'd one night, but chose to eat out mostly as St Ives is so well served for lovely independent restaurants and bars - do book ahead though.

Erfüllender Urlaub in wunderschönem Haus

Wir waren zu 7. in diesem wunderschönen Haus. Die 5 Schlafzimmer und 4 Bäder boten mehr als genügend Platz für uns. Die Küche ist riesig und super ausgestattet. Wir haben auch ganz oft in dem großen Wohn- Eßzimmer gesessen und den Ausblick auf den Atlantik genossen. Es hätte nicht besser sein können. Ganz besonders hat uns gefreut, dass nach dem Flug und der Autofahrt nach St Ives ein Korb mit allen notwendigen Lebensmitteln für uns bereit stand und wir sogar 2 Stunden früher in das Haus durften. Wir kommen wieder.

The kitchen is huge and super equipped. We also sat very often in the large living dining room and enjoyed the view of the Atlantic. It could not be better. We were particularly pleased that after the flight and the car trip to St Ives a basket with all necessary food was available for us and we were even allowed 2 hours earlier in the house. We will be back.")
