About Anita French
We live just over the border in New Hampshire but love to play at York Beach. We formed Periwinkle Properties LLC when we purchased this set of three houses in the spring of 2012. Periwinkle combines our interest in fixing up older houses and time at the beach. 'Hidden Treasure', 'Breakwater', 'Windswept' and 'High Tide' are all part of Periwinkle and available for rent individually or as a package.

Why Anita French chose York Beach
The spacious, wrap around porch is the perfect place to start off your morning with your favorite cup of coffee or wind down after a day at beach. Plenty of comfortable seating and places to walk. Three floors of living make it easy to share with friends and family and still have plenty of room to spread out. Everything you need for your get away is right here.

Good location with plenty of room and very well equipped in the kitchen and all throughout.
Great family Thanksgiving!
Well equipped and great location. My adult kids and grandkids had a ball putting together the "feast." House is very cottage and comfortable for a large group. Especially fine that our two well behaved but large dogs were welcome. Thanks to Anita for making us feel welcome.
Best 4 weeks of the year.
This house is great for extended stays. The porch is the big draw, rain or shine.
Cindy, John and friends little slice of heaven for five days.
We take this trip to Maine every year with friends. This was our fourth year at Breakwater, we have already rolled over our time to next year the same weekend in September. Don and Anita do a wonderful job with their properties you can't go wrong renting from them. The house is always clean, the kitchen is well equipped with everything we needed. The living room has comfortable couches and chairs and plenty of them. Don and Anita are always upgrading the house and furniture inside and out. There are cards, puzzles, board games, beach carts, beach chairs, floats for the ocean, all you need to bring is your personal items, food and drink. We pull straws for the king size bedroom, so far we have all had a chance to sleep in the comfy king size bed. Short Sands is just a short walk away as is our favorite restaurant Union Bluff. There are lots of little specialty shops to buy your souvenirs or grab a cup of coffee at the Daily Grind or pizza at the Beach Bucket. As you can see by what I've written Breakwater at York Beach Maine is a wonderful place to stay. You'll love, love, love it! Cindy Slate, Amsterdam N.Y.
Gorgeous views, cozy and has everything you need
This is our second year staying at a Periwinkle Property and again, we loved it! This house has everything you'll need to enjoy your time in York and we especially love the dog friendly atmosphere and railing provided at the stairs so they can roam free - very handy! We love the deck on this house - so much seating and a perfect outdoor dining table for a big family meal. You won't need to bring much! There's beach chairs, umbrellas, toys, buggies - you only need to bring your towels, food, and yourselves. The master bed (king) is nice and very comfortable for the week. The queen and full bed squeak quite a bit though and could use some updating. The pull-out mattresses could use replacing too. We skipped using them and advised our family who was arriving later to bring an air mattress so they could get a good night's sleep after all the beach fun. The walk to Short Sands or the Nubble is easy and beautiful and don't miss out on breakfast at Goldenrod Kisses; the pancakes are amazing! Anita is so nice and will respond to you day or night with any concerns, which is really outstanding. We won't hesitate to stay here again. Lovely location, really nice people and great memories made.
It could be a 10-star rating!
We have been renting this cottage for several years. It has a wonderful wraparound porch, and has been completely renovated. We love the fact that the cottage is so well-equipped that we do not have to pack much beyond the personal things we would want or need. Having a washer and dryer and dishwasher is a big plus. Anita and Don are committed to your having an enjoyable vacation.
Family friendly York Beach, Maine offers plenty to do within walking distance or a short drive. Long Sands Beach has over a mile of sandy beaches and rocky coast to explore. Short Sands Beach is located next to restaurants, arcade and local shops, within a half mile walk. Nubble Lighthouse and Brown's Ice Cream are other local attractions that are just down the street. Don't forget the Kittery Outlets and historic Portsmouth NH, just across the bridge.
