You are so close to the famous Fish Pot Restaurant, Mangoes and Lonestar. For a more local feel try the Fish Fry at Half Moon Fort , Fishermans pub or Doris's. I have a full list which is sent to you on booking .
There are so many places to visit and so much to do, and so little time but don't hurry. Although you don't need to hire a car as the public transport is so good, it is fun to hire a mini moke or jeep and find all those places yourself.
The rugged and wild East coast is not to be missed visit Bathsheba then drive down to Bottom Bay this everything you would imagine a Caribbean beach to look like. Take some food and drink with you and have a picnic. Check if there is any horse racing on at the Garrison in Bridgetown, this always guarantees a good afternoon. We have some great golf courses or why not learn to Dive at one of the PAADI dive centers
GOLF: There are several golf courses within 15 drive. Try Royal Westmoreland, Sandy Lane country club or the Old Nine .
Farther a field Barbados Golf club and Rockley on the South Coast.

We just loved Carizma and Barbados it was all we expected and more. The villa is great relaxing, smart and so clean . We must have seen most of island which we loved but the beaches up around Speightstown area are best uncrowded and beautiful.
This is one of the best vacations homes we ever stayed at.
Perfectly equipped, very nice and friendly owners that were very helpful with any question we had about the island, getting around, to do, where to shop and so on.
The house is in reality as nice as it looks on the pictures, no doubt about it.
It is very spacious, enough room for 4 persons, everything is clean and well functioning.
Nice and bright colours, well designed, we did not at all find anything to complain about.
We stayed there for one week and this was for sure the highlight of a 3.5 weeks trip to in total 3 different islands in the Caribbean.
Don't know what else to say, just go there, you will love it.
Lovely spacious house in a quiet neighbourhood.
Loved the patio area for a quiet breakfast time.
Very comfortable bed and good shower.
Just a few minutes away from the Port St Charles beach club which we really enjoyed.
Thanks to Anita & Dave.

Sadly, my wife and I are wrapping up a 5-month stay in Carizma during which we've come to enjoy the villa, its amenities, location, and Barbados more with each passing week. We've explored much of the island and find it to be stunningly beautiful and incredibly interesting. We've walked miles, ridden the bus, hired a taxi, and occasionally rented a car all with great success and little difficulty. Barbados is definitely a top-of-list Caribbean destination because it's so darned interesting and convenient – the history, the multitude of activities and points of interest, ATM access & credit card acceptance, the language, the shopping, transportation, access to amenities, and the cordial, gracious people. Speightstown and Carizma are a great choice for travelers seeking these best features of Barbados: an upscale neighborhood and authentic Bajan village full of friendly people away from the south-island jam and access to one of the best low-traffic, calm-water beaches on the island at Port St. Charles. Carizma gives us the independence of a single-family home yet full and easy access to all parts of the island. We walk to collect our groceries, stroll the beaches, and watch the killer sunsets. From the north, Holetown is an easy $2BBD, no-brainer bus ride to and from. More on the villa: The bedding is top notch, the weekly maid service a real treat, the bed linens are cleaned and pressed, towels are provided and laundered – and floors mopped [nice!]. The furniture in the villa is in excellent condition and very comfortable. The bath is newly built (actually the entire villa is recent construction) all in outstanding travertine tile including the entire shower surround. The tile is carried throughout the villa on the floors and very nice to walk on and keep clean. The kitchen cabinetry is beautiful and the appliances all work very well. We've kept the two sets of large swing-out double doors open during most of our stay to catch the Bajan breezes and had to resort to a/c only occasionally in the evenings back in November and early December. And blessedly – very few bugs! Dave and Anita are wonderful people who work hard to make things right and truly care about their guests. You can't go wrong with the these trustworthy hosts who have become very special to us. I mean, after 5 months, we're experts on the subject, right? It will be hard to leave.
We stayed at Carizma in July 2011 and had a wonderful time! The house is everything it’s advertised to be – lovely, comfortable, scrupulously clean, etc., etc. One of many pleasant surprises was the quality and quantity of cooking equipment (as a passionate amateur cook, having access to sharp knives and decent pans while on vacation was lovely). Another lovely surprise was the welcome stocking of the refrigerator with eggs, butter, milk, bread and even a couple of Banks beers! The owner who met us a the house could not have been more pleasant or helpful. The neighborhood is relatively quiet and it’s a short walk down the hill to Speightstown and Heywoods beach. Having Carizma as a home base definitely enhanced our stay in Barbados.
We just returned home from a two week holiday in Barbados. As far as the Carizma is concerned, what you see on the website, is what you get. From the time we stepped in to the villa, we were impressed with the decor, the amenities provided, and its open plan concept providing guests with certainly a comfortable "Home Away From Home" feeling. Each morning, we enjoyed our breakfasts on the front patio, in the company of birds feasting on the bougainvilleas and other flowers.
Although we did have a rental car, one could easily manage getting around on public transit which is both cheap and efficient. This was our first visit to this beautiful island, and by having a car, we were able to explore its differents parts. Speightstown which provdes a couple of grocery stores, a bakery, bars, and restaurants is within an easy walk. Our favorite beach was Heywoods which is only a ten minute walk, and the water is so calm that one feels like being in a pool, and a very large one at that. We used both access points, the one in between the two resorts, and the other located to the north of Port St. Charles Resort. Should one decides to drive, plenty of free public parking is available at both locations.
We have visited most parts of the world, and of the Caribbean Islands, Barbados is by far at the top of the list. The Bajan people are extremely friendly, and most helpful. Put all that together with the Carizma, and a most enjoyable holiday is almost guaranteed.
Our sincere thanks to Anita, and Dave for making our holiday most memorable. Aren't we glad that we extended our stay by an additional week? Thank you also for putting us in touch with Corbin's Car Rental. They have been good to deal with. Anita, it has been a pleasure dealing with you, and hopefully we will be re-visiting our favourite villa in Barbados sometime in the future.

My husband and I are sitting in Carizma enjoying the last few hours of the four weeks we've spent in this lovely place. We felt at home from the first step inside.
I love the cool breeze through the double French doors and the beautiful flowers that surround the villa. My husband loves the big flat screen TV and the cold Banks beer in the refrigerator. The bed is super and the shower is invigorating. We really hate to leave.
We walked or took the bus everywhere on the island because we didn't rent a car. My favorite tourist attraction was St Nicklas Abby and my husband was thrilled to be able to actually sit inside of the Concorde Jet and the Concorde Experience. We took an all day tour of the island with a local guide. We learned the names of many plants and flowers, saw many churches and schools, watched harvesting of sugar cane, visited the Queens Park where we saw a 400 year old Balboa tree and drove
along the south and east coast.
Our favorite cafe is Carizma in Holetown :)
Needless to say, we had a terrific vacation.
Historic Speightstown is 10 mins walk away from the villa. The quaint town is the up and coming place in Barbados mix old with new. Situated on the West coast it is still part of the old Barbados where you can buy your fruit and vegetables from the stalls in the street. There is a bakery, fish market and supermarket for your supplies. Please note the map is not totally accurate the villa is in the Douglas area and much closer to Speightstown.
Close by are some excellent gourmet restaurants or for more local food try the Fishermans pub in Speightstown or Half Moon Fort fish fry on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The Parish of St Peter is along the West Coast where you will find the famous Mullins Beach a short bus drive. However there are some beautiful beaches 10 mins walk away.
You are within easy reach of the East Coast , St Nicholas Abbey, Cherry Tree Hill and Farley National Park a car is advisable but you can get around easily by bus .
