VIA DEI FOSSI 12
Located in the hearth of Florence on the top roof of a wonderful and sophisticated aristocratic building, belonged to the family Niccolini-Bourbon during the 17th century, this property has conserved a rare and fascinating entrance with a magnificent staircase. The elevator goes up to the second floor than there are 20 more steps to reach the flat. This apartment is quite and tastefully furnished with modern and researched decorations all in the tones of beige, light grey and black. Within its elegant and metropolitan look, this space is very spacious in order to accommodate big families or group of friends, travelling together. The flat is all spread in one floor where you’ll find two living rooms, a fully equipped kitchen with a dining table next to it, two double bedrooms and two bathrooms. Through 13 steps of stairs, on an upper level, can be reached another bedroom, with two single beds and a bathroom en suite , in total privacy. This apartment can host up to 6 people in the three main bedrooms, but one living room can become the 4th double bedroom thanks to a door, in total privacy. There is also available another single convertible bed in the 2nd living room. This will lead to 9 people occupancy in total.
A doorman is available at day time and in the building you can find two others facilities: a private garage, on request, prices depending on the period and the model of the car and a just renovated fitness centre.
Wi fi is complimentary . The apartment is exceptionally convenient for anyone looking to see most of Florence's sights in a short while; easily , without car, bus or taxi , you can enjoy this wonderful city , all is within max 10 minutes walking . This is a prime location for sightseeing and entertaining, the area is vibrant but very safe and has plenty of shops , restaurants and theatres all very close.
My name is Donatella and I was born here in Tuscany. I’m really enthusiastic of my properties in this magnificent historical and cultural heritage such as the city of Florence. We have owned flats in this area since 1997 and we are firmly convinced that everything around has maintained its traditional Florentine style.
I speak English fluently therefore I’m available for any information and advice, in order to give you the best service for your holydays.
We hope that you'll enjoy your stay and come here again.
Donatella landi purchased this apartment in 2011
we have chosen this property in order to give you a calm and elegant place where you can rest, however just very close to the main historical sites
The location is very central , you can enjoy a real high level stay in one of the best area of Florence
Excellent location and no need for any car. The major train station Firenze SMN, is at a walking distance. All the Major attractions are around_ the Duomo, Academia museum, Uffizi gallery, Ponte Vecchio , Pitti Palace , Boboli Gardens , Piazza Michael Angelo, and Midici Ricardi museum and palace are all walking distance. Would hardly imagine a place so ideal for any tourist.
The property itself has a classic 17th century touch. The apartment is tidy and cosy.
Landi and Gianni, lend a personal touch and are a superb hosts. Wishing them all the best.
Amazing location , Great rate , Lovely space , it was perfect !
Overall the stay was very comfortable and pleasant. Location is very convenient to many tourist spots and especially worthwhile for anyone considering taking the train. Surprisingly you can hear late night time noises from outside. There is one quirkiness about this building...after getting off the elevator, there is another 20 +/- steps to the top floor where the apartment is actually located...so be ready to haul your luggages (^^)
Palazzo De Marchese is a wonderful memory for our family when we visited Florence in May. The space is designed to give everyone privacy and comfort. The location is perfect in an upscale neighborhood close to the grocery store, great restaurants and shopping. The garage next door offered wonderful service and dealt with our 9 passenger vehicle having it ready for us when we took day trips to Pisa, Cinque Terre, Chianti and Fiesole. The doorman added a feel of security! Da Garibardi at Piazza del Mercato Central was delicious and served in a creative manner. (Pear Ravioli) Acqua al 2 was another find. Their blueberry steak unique & melt in your mouth. They do not have an English menu but have a a restaurant in Washington DC. (The only one that didn't have translation in 3 weeks in Europe) La Reggia in Fiesole is an experience everyone should have. Going for lunch at 1:30 worked well for our family of 7. If you don't have a car definitely take the bus. The view of Florence is breathtaking and the food with service is over the top but the prices weren't. Take time to see the Roman ruins at Musei di Fiesole nearby. Our trip to Ruffino winery just outside of Florence was an elegant one. The estate is jaw dropping and Silvia took us around and lead a wonderful wine tasting class. The Marini museum just around the corner is worth a visit especially since we have a piece of his in Toledo, Ohio. Forte Belvedere offers panoramic views of Florence and is worth the climb. The Duomo and Campanile di Giotto are for those who do not have a claustrophobia issue. I rubbed the bronze pig and put a coin in his mouth at Mercato Nuovo so I should one day be visiting Florence again. So much to do here!
We stayed here for a conference/vacation in Mar 2016. The location is stellar and is, of course, within walking distance to everything in Florence. Also, very close to the train station, if planning a day trip, and to the conference centre which is only a 10-15 minute walk. The apartment itself is big and spacious, (even by North American standards) and is clean and well maintained. It has a fully functional kitchen and arriving to a bottle of red wine is always nice.
I think it is important to note a couple of things however. First - none of the washrooms are en-suite, except for maybe the one in the loft (which only has a bedroom anyway). So if complete privacy is important, this could be an issue. Second the shower in the master bathroom has very slow drainage. So much so that it's basically unusable. I know it's an old building with old plumbing and maybe it can't be fixed, but really the apartment is functionally without that 3rd shower (sorry, but it's true). Otherwise, great place. Would definitely recommend it without hesitation and would love to go back one day. Thanks Dona!
Our family of 8 stayed in Florence for three nights and this apartment could not have been more perfect.
We were able to enjoy breakfast together in the morning before heading out to see the city and it was easy to stop back "home" any time during the day to regroup or recoup. Evenings were also easy since there are many nice restaurants within an easy stroll and one night we cooked dinner in. The train station is very close as is a secure parking structure if you arrive by car. The apartment is very quiet and the beds very comfortable so we got a good nights sleep. Hope to be back some day.
