About Jane Weston

I purchased the property as a bed and breakfast, but turned the house into self catering accommodation in 2002. I live about half an hour away, so am always on hand if guests require anything. I do not intrude on your privacy unless invited to do so. The management of the Lynhurst is carried out myself. I do the cleaning with help from a local lady, some gardening and maintenance. Other assistance is brought in for things I cannot do.

Jane Weston purchased this chateau / country house in 2000

Why Jane Weston chose North Devon

The Lynhurst is in a glorious location within Exmoor National Park 'where Exmoor meets the sea' and is often referred to as 'Little Switzerland'. The views from the house over the sea, Exmoor and Lynmouth are spectacular. The property has been enhanced over the years, putting in many ensuites, carpets and furnishings. The house is very comfortable and has everything a guest would require. The kitchen is very well equipped as I used to own and run a restaurant and tea room locally.

What makes this chateau / country house unique

9 ensuite rooms, two comfortable lounges, spectacular seaviews, secluded and private location, yet within walking distance of all the amenities in Lynton.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We just wanted to thank you again for the use of your beautiful house for our wedding weekend in June. It provided the most amazing setting for our celebrations, our guests couldn't get over the views and how well kept everything was! We will definitely recommend you to anybody who is looking to do something similar, and you never know, we may well see you again for a future celebration of our own one day.

A beautiful house in a lovely location

  • 5 of 5

This large house made a an excellent location for a large gathering of family and friends. The property was clean and well-maintained, without being "over luxurious" - I think this was an advantage in that everyone, adults and children alike, could feel at home in it.

The listing was accurate regarding the layout, though there were two of the bedrooms (one double, one twin) which were on the small side. I would advise people coming to follow the instructions carefully, since it is quite tucked away and not easy to find for the first time.

We had excellent customer service from the owner who was very welcoming, helpful and flexible.

Lynton is a great location for walks, near good beaches, plus plenty of lovely country pubs.

For a large group, it works out to be good value. I would thoroughly recommend this property to friends and relatives.
