Newly updated 3 br - 2 ba lake front home in a quiet well-maintained subdivision on the southeastern side of the lake - 65 minutes from downtown Dallas. Great location for fishing, boating and jet skiing. Private boat launch. Beautiful sunsets. Sleeps 10, large, fully stocked kitchen. Quiet neighborhood. Close to Canton Trade Days, East Texas Arboretum, Tara Winery. Fishing off the boathouse.
We came to Cedar Creek lake in 1998 as weekenders, and now live at the lake full time, commuting to Dallas to work.
Angie Rhodes purchased this house in 2012
We waited five years to buy this house from our friends who sold to relocate. It's completely updated with a huge kitchen and living room, nice sized bedrooms and lake views from most rooms. The yard is shaded by mature pine trees and the neighbors on both sides are long term full time residents.
Perfect location at opening of wide cove. Lots of full time residents in quiet neighborhood. The view from the long porch and yard is stunning. It's easy to get on the water with the private community boat ramp nearby. Even when you're in the kitchen you have great views of the lake activity. The place feels instantly like home.
Very very nice get a way. If you're looking for FANCY this is probably not your place. If your looking for a nice peaceful, clean, comfortable and quiet get a way, do not pass this place up. Angie Rhodes and her husband are super nice folks. I'd never been to Cedar Creek Lake before. Wow the lake is HUGE (4th largest in Texas). Beautiful just beautiful. Fishing was not the greatest. Probably not the best time of year for it. Weather was not the most cooperative but that's March in Texas. Water temp was still a little cool. But we did catch 14 Large mouth bass, 9 Crappy and 1 blue catfish. (And we won't talk about the ONE'S THAT GOT AWAY). We will definitely return and I highly recommend the Rhode's home for your vacation plans if you're heading to Cedar Creek Lake.
Nice house located right on the water in a quiet subdivision. Private boat ramp is located right next door. Entire yard is fenced in which allowed our two small dogs to run free. Enjoyed fishing off the dock and kayaking. House was well stocked, clean, and comfortable. Only 90 minutes from Dallas. I would definitely stay here again.
Great lake home to rent for the whole family! Weather was perfect the whole week we stayed. We purchased a huge float for 8 people to put in the lake and everyone had a blast of a time staying cool. Only suggestions would be put more lighting in the bathroom off the kitchen and more lighting outside to light up the yard. The house is very clean and lots of seating in the living room. The dinning room was large enough for the whole family to gather for breakfast, lunch and dinner - plenty of seating. Its great for small children because you can see them at all times. Lots of windows to see the backyard, lake and the beautiful sunsets everyday. Its a perfect location on the lake for your boat.
We will be back again for sure! Karen & Bobby Kennedy :)
Everything in the description of this home is on point. Loved everything about this vacation home and where it is located on the lake, it had everything we needed. I had asked permission from Angie about my 3 dogs ahead of time and assured her that they were well behaved, crate trained, potty trained dogs, she happily allowed to host our fur babies. The front and back yard is fenced. One of our dogs was able to get under one part of the fence into the neighbors yard. My husband and I went to Lowes and got 2 pieces of cross ties and solved the problem with the fence. Our stay was fantastic. The boat dock was perfect for our boat to leave in the water without having to put it in and out of the lake, and the family loved to lay out on and swim, right on the edge of the cove and open water. Big well stocked kitchen with kitchen gadgets. We will definitely be back! Thanks Angie for a wonderful vacation.
This lake side home was perfect for a relaxing Thanksgiving week with small group of 4 and two dogs. The boat dock and neighborhood launch were so nice for our fishing boat and the lake was beautiful. It was great to be able to use the lot across the street for extra parking. The house was spacious and cozy - the kitchen made cooking Thanksgiving dinner a breeze. The beds were comfortable (we didn't use the bedroom with one queen or the murphy bed), the living room was great with two big armchairs with ottomans, two recliners and a large couch. Our two dogs loved the yard and we had some nice walks in the neighborhood. When a cold front moved through and brought nasty weather and rain the house stayed cozy and comfortable (we did bring throw blankets to help with the coziness). The only thing we would recommend is an updated tv and some more baking dishes in the kitchen, but those were things that we worked around. It was a wonderful week, and Angie promptly answering all of my questions. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
This property is perfect for all. I booked it for a family reunion with several generations under one roof and it was marvelous. The kiddos enjoyed swimming, my parents enjoyed the views and lack of stairs and my dog enjoyed the beautiful fenced yard. The kitchen is ample for those who love cooking and the home is very comfortable. We will come back again!
