Very easy access, spacious kids room and kitchen. VRBO description should be updated as they do have WiFi. Only drawback is heating at the front doesn't work well when you have to move a duct to do laundry.
Great fishing camp
On river and close to many other fishing sites. Comfortable and plenty of room for four fishermen.
A group of 4 of us, friends for decades, met to do some fishing and reminiscing. It was a beautiful spot for that. The cabin was rustic but charming, well furnished (with 2nd bedroom exception) and sufficient to our needs. The sleeping accommodations were a little difficult for our group. The master bedroom was great with large closet and private bath. The other three of our group shared the second bedroom that had three beds - a double, a single and a third vintage single that was challenging.
Overall, it was a really pleasant cabin with a great location by the river in a beautiful part of Colorado.
Great spot to get away
Great space - older but well kept. Enjoyed fishing from the banks of the river and chopping wood for the camp fire (that wood was there to use was a real plus!). A bit less secluded than I had expected, but that's probably poor research on my part. Other than the mice and the terrible mattresses we had an enjoyable stay.
A porch with a view
We choose this cabin because of its location on the river. We were 4 guys looking for good fishing and we found it in the river and the area lakes. Brown trout in the river and Rainbows in the lakes. Siting on the porch in the evening, listening to the river and watching the hummingbirds fight over the feeders was a highlight.
The cabin is well stocked and had everything we needed EXCEPT WI-FI/CELL SERVICE.
Would we stay here again, already planning it.
Very nice nature.
The nature around the house was beautiful! We had a wonderful time in South Fork and the ski area. The house was ok, not perfect though. It was really hard to leave with the car from the driveway on the snow. Even though the main street was plowed almost every day, it was hard to leave from the driveway and get back up on the main road (149 Hwy). You definately need a 4 wheeler car to be able to go up the road during winter time. So, if you plan to go there during winter, I would highly recommend you have a 4 wheeler. The chains on the highway don't work when there isn't snow. They work on snowy roads, not on ice.
The house was ok....need a lot of updates in there. The beds are not comfortable at all. The heating system in the house doesn't work properly because it is spotty. The showers have a good pressure, but, the hot water ( during winter months) doesn't last too long. We were a family of 5 people and we couldn't take showers all of us everyday for 5 minutes each because got cold really fast.
The agents were a pleasure to work with. They let us check in before the actual check in time and they worked with us very nicely while we were booking the property. They were very prompt in answering all the questions we had and were very flexible people. When we wet to return the house keys, it was so nice to meet Leigh( one of the agents) and she was very kind and happy to have met us. We will definately be renting with them again....
South Fork is a cute small city and they have a very good Mexican Restaurant on the main road, about 6 or 7 miles from the property and the people there are really nice as well.
The ski area is about a 30 minutes drive from the house and a scenic drive. If you plan to go skiing, go before 10:00am and plan to come back before 3:00pm...the road to the ski area is beautiful during winter, but can be a little tuff to drive with all the curves it has and because starts to become night around 4:30pm-5pm....
Other that my review here, we did have a wonderful time and enjoyed the things around the city. Pagosa Springs is very nice too. It is about a 30 miles drive down the ski area as well. It is worth checking it out.
This rustic cabin is located in a pristine location on the banks of the Rio Grande River. Raft, tube, fish, relax. Close to South Fork and the historic mining town of Creede.
