Great stay, too short

A wonderful place to stay for visiting Dublin. Only regret is having to cut our stay by one day thanks to Lufthansa pilots striking. Very comfortable place to stay and felt like a local. The Fresh grocery store was so close and convenient. A great place to stay for 5 adults, only thing I would change would be to ask Pat how the heaters worked. Figured it out after one day, but that night was cooler than usual but more than enough blankets to sleep comfortably. Great location for touring, light rail station and bus stops are 1-2 blocks away and the airport bus drop off is 4 blocks away.

Fantastic apartment in a perfect location....

The property was superb. Everything we needed and more. The décor was lovely and it was spacious. Pat (the owner) was great and sooooo helpful!! He was a really lovely gentleman. The location was great - just a 15 min walk to the centre - where it all happens! The apartment was clean and we didn't even harm ourselves when coming off the stepladder when looking for the non-existent cobwebs!! Ha ha. Will definitely be back.....

Amazing! Perfect place to stay for everything!

Alright, first off, let me fill you in on the apartment owner. From the first time you start booking, you will be treated with respect and graciousness from a wonderful gentleman who will have your absolute best interests at heart, with a wonderful sense of humor and honest responses to your questions. Also, he's quick. You won't be twiddling your thumbs wondering if you're going to lose out. He will respond with respect and human decency in a very timelt manner. By the third email my husband and I felt we were talking to an old friend, a true gentleman. We felt so comfortable about our decision to rent from Mr. Pat, and we're never disappointed. He is truly a solar and a gentleman as my husband says, and a great joy to work with.

Let's talk about our arrival now. Oh lord. Planes are hard this old body. We landed and called Pat who met us in front of the apartment. We were pleasantly surprised by his kindness, and his extremely thorough explanation of the apartment, and let me tell you, he is funny! He will spend as much time as you need helping you with anything you ask about, all the while not rushing to leave you. The apartment was clean and we'll kept up (really seriously previous reviewer, no clue what you were talking about) and so comfortable. You will be WELL INFORMED on how to work things (like the water heater, seriously previous 2 star reviewer, it's just TWO CLICKS on an accessible knob, which I spent like 1 minute of my whole two week stay there doing!) And he is available if anything happens. Like when I forgot how to work the oven. My bad. Tee hee. Also we had a huge party with us. Mr. Griffin was generous and brought us extra towels, more than enough for our entire stay. Because of his gracious hospitality my husband and I are already plotting our next trip, and will definitely look to Pat for a rental.

What people need to understand is this isn't a hotel stay. You won't be pampered and catered for with your every need met from the comfort of your bed, however we felt we were by the awesome Mr. Griffin! You will live in an APARTMENT. You have to be an adult and actually take care of yourself. You know, actually do your own laundry, cook, clean up after yourself and understand that things happen. This is the ultimate Living In Dublin Experience. This is what you have to do to live in Dublin and enjoy more than just a posh stay at a hotel with a poor maid catering to you.

Amazing Property in Dublin

Upon arrival at Pat's apartment, we were delightfully greeted. Pat even came down to the car park and helped with our luggage. He gave us a tour of the apartment straight off, showing every detail that could possibly be required from how to use the TV, water heater, and access the apartment from the elevator on the second floor as we were travelling with our disabled mother. He was so gracious as to supply all necessary household items like hand soap, dish soap, dishwasher soap, toilet paper etc......The location of the apartment was great. We visited the Jameson Distillery right across the street and Bel Cibo Pizzeria on the ground floor as well as Fresh Market, which was so convenient when we ran out of milk and bottled water. The building, location, and apartment itself were just as expected. We were so happy with everything. It was very clean and we ran into no issue whatsoever. We definitely would recommend this property to our friends and family and if we ever visit Dublin again, we will keep our fingers crossed Pat has availability. It was much cheaper than a hotel and much more comfortable as well. Pat was by far very customer service oriented and we had our security deposit back via paypal the day after checkout. Thanks Pat for being so amazing and I really do hope our paths will cross again.

Fantastic Apartment in a Fantastic Location

Right from the start I felt comfortable with our choice of accomodation. Pat provided us with a wealth of information that helped us plan our few nights in Dublin. When we arrived he personally showed us around the apartment and gave us a great overview of the surrounding area.

The apartment was perfect for six of us. It was spacious enough, warm enough, and had all the requirements we needed to be self contained. There was also a supermarket downstairs that had more than enough variety to fulfill our needs. When we did choose to eat out there were multiple restaurants all within a few minutes walk of the apartment.

The location of the apartment was fantastic. We booked the Hop On Hop Off bus (Bus stop is a 2 min walk) for two days but only really needed it for one. Even with three kids and Grandmother in tow, we managed to walk across the river to Temple Bar, Trinity College, Grafton st, the surrounding areas and back again.

Would definitely recommend this apartment and would definitely look at re-booking it should we get the opportunity to return to Dublin. Thanks Pat!

A Great Apartment on Smithfield Market

This past September we stayed at Patrick's apartment in the tower at Smithfield Market. This was our third stay with Patrick and he outdid himself with making our stay perfect. Prior to arrival I told Patrick that I'd like to park a rental car at the apartment. Patrick not only arranged to get me access to the parking underneath the apartment, but once there, he even took me for a ride in his car to show me the best place to park and how to navigate in and out of the car park. His thoughtfulness to guide me took away all the stress of trying to find my way on my own. I can't thank him enough for his consideration.

The apartment as always was great. This trip we just had one other couple and it was still very cost effective when compared to hotels nearby. The other couple were smokers and the patio was very good for them. Of course, no smoking went on in the apartment. The apartment was clean and tidy, there was coffee and tea left from past guests and we left some for the next guests. You will need to run down to the Fresh market for milk.

Smithfield Market is becoming more vitalized with new restaurants and attractions since we visited last in 2011. We ate at Oscars right next door which is a pub but has a nice menu selection. Try the Mussels. Also, a new attraction is "The Story of the Irish" located on Haymarket. It's an innovative live actor presentation of the history of the Irish over the last 10,000 years. We saw the show and highly recommend it.

One other neat thing with the apartment that doesn't get mentioned in the reviews is that the upper floor bedrooms aside from the main bedroom overlook a rooftop with landscaping of trees and bushes that give a nice view rather than a stark rooftop.

This is a well maintained comfortable apartment which has a great view of Smithfield Market and all it has to offer. The location is perfect for sightseeing, shopping, access to the Luas, the train stations and busses. Grocery shopping is great at the Fresh market which has an ATM and a very nice selection of wines. Coming in from the States it's great to come to the apartment, drop your bags and get a nap after flying all night.

I highly recommend visiting Ireland and even higher recommend staying at the apartment in Smithfield Towers with Patrick.
