Why Mary chose Connemara

At the end of the day, perhaps after a day's hiking, or a day trip to Westport, or a day at the beach, relax on the wooden patio and enjoy the tranquility as you watch the sun set over Tully lake.

What makes this apartment unique

Knock airport (about 1 hour 10 minutes from Tullycross) now has regular flights from Dusseldorf, Barcelona (Girona), Milan (Bergamo), as well as numerous UK airports. Tullycross now only a hen's kick from you! Sitting on the patio watching the sun go down over Renvyle will gladden your heart.

A warm Irish welcome in a stunning location

  • 5 of 5

My son and I spent an idyllic week in this lovely apartment. We could not get over the warmth of the welcome we received from Mary and Vince on our arrival. We were made feel part of the family straight away and the tea, freshly baked scones and jam were such a treat. But the real welcome was the chat and information we got from our hosts. We were told about the best pubs, food, walks, sights and beaches, details which could have taken days to discover without the inside knowledge. Renvyle Peninsula is the most beautiful part of Connemara and is part of the Wild Atlantic Way. Kylemore Abbey, Ballinahinch Castle, Renvyle House and the charming village of Clifden are only some of the sights worth seeing. We were lucky with the weather for the time of year and saw the most amazing 'edge of the world' sunsets from our balcony. We hiked on the Diamond and Tully Mountain. Mary and Vince put us in touch with a local guide who took us up one of the Twelve Bens for a day's hiking. We could never have done this on our own. Another day we took a boat to Inishbofin, one of the many off-shore Islands in the area. The scenery is breathtaking.

The property is two minutes walk from the best pub in the area. There, we ate the locally caught seafood, drank Guinness and caught a traditional music and dancing session.

The apartment is spotless, well maintained and very comfortable. It is

the ideal place to read and relax, although with the mild weather, we were out and about most of the time. It had just been freshly painted and decorated when we were there. I highly recommend a holiday here.

Thank you Mary and Vince, for your hospitality.

Betty and Jack.

an amazing place for complete relaxing in Connemara

  • 5 of 5

We had have ten wonderful days at Mary`s flat in Tullycross. For our welcome we `ve got flowers, fruits and a bottle of wine, a very warm welcome and all informations, we had to know. The flat is very well equipped, so you will miss really nothing. Sitting at our table for having breakfast or barbecue at the patio, looking at the hill with an amazing cow gathering, hearing the birds singing is holidays at its best. In a really short walking distance you find Paddy`s pub, a wonderful place for having a pint of Guinness, meating locals, hearing music and getting really good food. So, what do you need more? Renvyle is an amazing peninsula with wonderful beaches and close to Connemara National Parc at Letterfrack and Clifden. We hope to be back soon! Thousand thank you to Mary and Vince

A cosy holiday home

  • 5 of 5

For three weeks we had a lovely time in Mary's flat in Tullycross. Although we arrived late at night, we were warmly welcomed by our hosts, there was a turf fire burning and Mary had made a tasty carrot cake for us. This was a lot of comfort after a long journey through darkness and rain on roads where sheep were sleeping... The flat is bigger than it looks on the photos and for us (2 adults, one six year old child) it was perfectly sized. We had everything we needed and if something was missing our hosts were always there to help us out. The big windows towards Tully Mountain bring in a lot of sunshine - we were lucky to have had quite a lot of it. We also enjoyed sitting on the new wooden terrace in the rocking chairs and on some evenings we had wonderful sunsets. We definitely would recommend this flat to friends or relatives. We enjoyed having the local pub within walking distance - the food and the atmosphere there were great. There are several beautiful beaches nearby, especially Glassilaun Beach is a dream. We will also remember our walk to the top of Diamond Hill - the view was fantastic - but on our way down we were almost eaten up by the midges.

As a whole I think it is difficult to find a better place for holidays in this part of Connemara.

Séjour formidable avec cottage moderne et lumineux

  • 5 of 5

Thank you to Mary and Vincent who took the time to answer all our questions and satisfy our curiosity about the lives of Irish customs, Irish music, etc.. Certainly our most beautiful and enjoyable destination abroad. Lawrence, Christine, Ivan and Sarah

Un super appartement dans un cadre idéal

  • 5 of 5

The area hosts a number of festivals throughout the year including the famous Clifden Arts Week (mid-September); Mussel Festival and Bog Week (May); Sea Week (October); Clifden Pony Show (August). The village of Tullycross has a hotel, a church with Harry Clarke stained glass windows, 2 pubs with regular music sessions, a shop and thatched holiday cottages.
