Fun Facts about the French Quarter:
The French Quarter is also known as the 'Vieux Carré' witch means 'Old Square' in French. It has been the center of New Orleans since the city was founded.
The French Quarter area was the first land settled in the New Orleans area because it was the highest elevation available. That elevation saved the Quarter from the devastating flooding caused by Hurricane Katrina.
A fire in 1788 and another in 1794 burned most of the French-built properties, and reconstruction was accomplished under the rule of Spain. To this day, architecture in the Quarter retains a strong Spanish influence.
In the late 1800's and the first half of the 1900's, the Quarter was less fashionable than today and housed many new immigrants drawn by low rents.
The later decades of the 1900's saw a revival of the neighborhood due to historical renovation, the 1984 World's Fair and development of the area for tourism.
I live in Las Vegas, Nevada with my wife, Cathy, who manages the property!

The location is amazing... right behind 'Jackson Square'...with an easy walk to all the hot spots of the French Quarter.
Prime location with charming and 'old world' charm!
This was the first time my girlfriend and I had ever been to New Orlean and this place was exactly what we needed and wanted. It was the best spot in the French Quarter. Every place we wanted to visit was in walking distance and this neighborhood was a great place to walk. The studio was very cozy and perfect getaway for a couple. We really appreciated having a fridge and microwave to reheat all our leftovers from the amazing places we visited. We would definitely recommend staying here.
We loved our stay here, we stayed for 3 nights and it was the most adorable place to stay in the quarter. Close to everything yet you felt like you were all alone. The owners were great to work with, would definately stay again!!!
We have a fantastic time in NOLA last week. This condo has everything you need and the location in is right in the hart of French Quarters. The bed was very comfortable and small kitchen that was adequate. We walked to all the local attractions and didn't have to worry about renting a car. Walk out the front door and your greeted by street vendors and musicians. Highly recommended.
Our travel plans were made so last minute that I was sure we wouldn't be able to book anything better than a cheap hotel. Much to my surprise, within an hour of contacting the owner, we had the best location in New Orleans reserved for our weekend getaway. The apartment was clean and comfortable when we arrived. Street parking to load and unload our bags was no problem and safe overnight parking was a very short walk away. The musical sound of the city could be easily heard from the balcony by day and at night it was quiet enough to easily get plenty of sleep. Access to the building was safe and we never worried about leaving our thing in the room or our safety when entering or leaving the property. Overall an excellent experience! We will be back again!
My wife and I love to visit NOLA over New Year's and this year we stayed at this fantastic location on Royal St. Cathy was ever so helpful in her communication with me - as I changed my mind on dates about 3 times on her - and she was always quick with a reply and very accommodating. You CAN'T beat the location of this condo - right off Royal and behind Jackson Square and the Cathedral. If you're expecting a large grandiose condo - look elsewhere as this is just the perfect size for a couple traveling to see the city - not to spend time sitting in the hotel/condo. The Studio was nicely decorated and met our needs perfectly. But LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION says it all!!!! We were able to walk to Frenchman St, French Market, Decauter St., Canal St., and Bourbon Street and every time we passed the condo, we'd stop in for a bathroom break.
NEVER miss out on Cafe' Du Monde for Beignets, (get there early so you don't have to wait in line) The Gazebo Cafe next to the French Market has the BEST Bloody Mary's in NOLA. Then you always have to have oysters at Acme Oyster House (although sitting at the Oyster Bar in Remoulaude ranks pretty high up there too) Rouse's grocery is a block away for all your in-house food needs.
I would definitely recommend this condo while visiting New Orleans and we will definitely be back. DGW
My husband and I had a great time in a great town. Your condo was the perfect location for all we wanted to do. No car was necessary. You have a very quaint home with lots of New Orleans charm. We had a great time while we were there. Owners are very, very helpful and kind. We will definately be back again. Look into this charming home, you won't be disappointed.
