This unique mountainside home is set up perfectly to accommodate 2 to 3 families, was totally renovated in 2010, and has lovely views of Lake Tahoe and the surrounding high mountains from all three decks. The view of the Lake from the front deck was improved in 2015 with some tree work done across the street. On the large front deck,a great view of the stars or Lake Tahoe is provided from the hot tub (an 8x8 Spa with 6 different Jet Paks, which will accommodate up to 6 adults) or relaxing in the outdoor furniture. There is a natural gas barbecue right outside the kitchen and an electric barbecue on the front deck. Two other decks offer great views of Lake Tahoe and the adjacent 11,000 foot mountain ridge. The home is located on a very quiet, one block long, street with no highway noise, and is about 7,400 feet in elevation (1,000 feet in elevation above Lake Tahoe) resulting in less noise/traffic but more snow (yes, scenic, and we do provide driveway plow service and the County keeps the access roads passable).
The interior features cedar walls and fir cathedral ceilings throughout, two gas fireplaces, granite kitchen counters with alder cabinets, and warm carpeting/tile flooring. The kitchen is fully equipped, including microwave/convection oven and an indoor grill, plus first-quality dishes and cooking pots and utensils. A set of spices and teas (and popcorn!) are there for your use. The heavy oak dining room table will expand to seat 10 comfortably. Each of the living room and upstairs family room has a large screen LCD-HD TV with blue-ray player and surround sound system, plus a gas fireplace. TV service is through Direct TV and internet connections are available throughout the home through the wireless router. You can even use our Netflix account to directly stream free movies to the TV. The large family room has a game table, lots of family games and puzzles, and an interactive telescope to view and learn about the incredible starry sky (most nights) from our deck. The living room has a variety of books and an antique upright piano, so bring your favorite music to play. There is a ping pong table in the very large 2-car garage. Also in the garage, you will find beach chairs and play equipment (sand toys, boggy board, small inflatable boat - plus life vests - and inner tube) to take for the 1 to 2 mile drive to Incline beaches (access pass provided) or 4 miles to beautiful Sand Harbor State Park (Nevada). The Incline Burnt Cedar Beach has an outdoor heated pool plus play yard. We have snow play saucers and sleds in the garage to use in the front yard or on the public sled hill about 3 miles away. Incline has two golf courses, 11 tennis courts and the recreational and fitness center (with an indoor pool), all of which you can access with the pass provided. Hiking in the immediate area is incredible with the Tahoe Rim Trail easily accessible! If gaming is your thing, the home is in Nevada, and the Hyatt Casino is only one mile away.
The two largest bedrooms have a king (master suite) and a queen (upstairs) bed, and each of the other two bedrooms can be configured as either two twins or a king as you desire. In addition to the beds for 8, there are two Aero (inflatable) beds which younger children can use.
The grounds are landscaped with native plants and timed irrigation. Just steps from the deck off the master bedroom is a year-round spring fed creek which lulls you to sleep in the summer. Immediate adjacent National Forest lots help screen off neighbors, and the large pines and firs add to the mountain environment. One block from the house is a trail that immediately leads into the National Forest - the trails go for miles. We have maps on the walls inside the house. The Tahoe Rim Trail is only a one mile drive away. We have lots of suggestions on hiking these unique areas.

My family usually rents a house in Tahoe at least once a year and we generally choose a different area and cabin each time. With that said, we have stayed in about 10 places over the last 10 years and hands down this one is a favorite! I think we might actually just go back to this one next time. The photos do not do this place justice so when we walked in we were pleasantly surprised as it exceeded our expectations.
The home is very clean and all the furnishings and linens are new and fresh. It is really spacious and could easily accommodate 2 families.
The location is great for skiing at many of the resorts (10 minutes from Rose and Diamond Peek).
Close to both Incline and Kings Beach for great dining an activities.
The hot tub was new, spacious, and clean.
The view of the lake was really beautiful through the trees.
We could bring our dog but yet the house didn't feel like it was an 'animal' house.
But most importantly was how great it was to work with the owner. We were there for unusual purposes this year with my mom on hospice in Carson City and then passing so we had to make some changes to our reservation literally while we were up there and Chris was MORE than understanding and accommodating. He took care of everything including moving the cleaning team etc. and did it all so seamlessly that I didn't have to worry about a thing regarding the house which was more than amazing being I was alternately focused.

Love the house. Rented same time for 4 years. Beautiful views. Condition perfect. Feels like home. Easy access to cross country and downhill skiing, hiking, and Lake Tahoe. Very comfortable.
Our family of four just stayed in this home for 4 days. The house was clean, well-stocked and in a great location for skiing at Diamond Peak. Everything we needed was at the house, including snow toys in the garage that our girls loved playing with. The fireplace in the living room created a cozy environment after coming in from the cold snow. Chris was easy to work with and very responsive. We hope to stay here again soon.
We stayed with our two teenagers the week before Christmas and loved the home. There is plenty of room in the house for each person to have their own space. The neighborhood is very quiet and has great views of the lake and mountains. Mr. McClain is very helpful and easy to communicate with.
As I discussed with the owner of this property, the view of Lake Tahoe would be better described as "seasonal" as we did not see a whole lot of the Lake. This was compounded by the California forest fire that cause reduced visability. The property itself is very nice albiet probably not for someone who has mobility issues as the drive way is very steep and as well as the stairs into the house. The owner is very punctual and clear with his communication and the house is very well stocked! All of the sleeping areas provide a certain amount of privacy all with private baths.
National forest starts one block from house and continues for 25 miles, providing numerous hiking and walking experiences from the front door.
