Experience Colorado's best kept secret! Enjoy a wonderful small town experience in Georgetown. John Denver used to film his Christmas specials in town. This small town gem will steal your heart!
Two king size beds along with six twin beds makes this home great for two families. The kitchen is well equipped that includes a Viking 6 burner stove, pots, pans, etc. along with a large island for cooking. Wireless internet and Comcast TV are included. The location is set off Guanella Pass and is private while being close to downtown.
Activities are endless. Fishing, hiking, jeeping, zip lining and skiing are nearby for your convenience. Loveland is 10 minutes away while Summit County and Winter Park are roughly 30 minutes away. Coors Brewery, Golden and Denver are only 30 minutes to the east on I-70.
Take a walk downtown to Cake for a cupcake or head over to Anderson's Market for European delights in an old fashioned setting. Lucha Cantina for great burgers and The Alpine for yummy pizza.
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home! We all had an awesome vacation.-Via guestbook, Emry Family
Beautiful historic home in Georgetown. Our family had a relaxing time staying at this property in Sept 2016. It has all the comforts of home to include excellent wifi, cable tv, roomy sleeping areas and a kitchen stocked with the requisite hardware you'd need to whip up a meal or two. Loved the Viking gas stove and oven. There's also a nice secluded patio area out back and charming white picket fence in the front. Property located a couple blocks from the quaint town of Georgetown where you can visit art galleries, restaurants, and other unique to the area stores. Very close to ski areas if that's on your radar when the snow falls. Excellent hiking right outside your front door. Very friendly and picturesque town. Perfect getaway. Owners clearly love this home away from home and it shows. Highly recommend staying here and would return for sure! :-)
Very quiet area, but still very close to downtown. Kitchen is wonderful, although the coffee pot was new to me, took a little figuring. So much room inside, allowed us to congregate in various areas. Loved the fire pit in the back and there is so much wood. We should have brought marshmallows and sticks. House worked great for us.
We enjoyed this historic home and the location in Georgetown was perfect for us!
The beds in two of the upstairs bedrooms were literally falling apart......grandkids chose to sleep on the sofa and one actually in the bay window to keep from falling on the floor during the night......
Kitchen was well-equipped, but could use some bowls with lids and a cooking rack......
Ice Maker in fridge did not work and there were no ice trays to make our own......
On plus side, there was plenty of seating for all 7 of us both in the living room and at the dining table.....
Nice quiet location.....walking distance to most everything.......hardly used our rental car at all........
We had a great time staying at this rental. The house is both charming and functional. One of our big needs was a proper kitchen. We certainly found that here! It's well stocked with cutlery, utensils, cooking ware, and appliances. The stove and oven were absolutely fantastic. There was even a griddle! We easily prepared large meals for our group, which consisted of 6 to 10 people at various times. There is a nice island for prep work, and the kitchen space adjoins to the dining area that comfortably sits eight. Additionally, the rear of the kitchen connects up to a small mudroom with a washer and dryer. This room has a door to the backyard where there is a large gas grill and fire pit. This was nice for cooking burgers and brats, as well as sitting around an open fire in the evenings.
There are 4 bedrooms, 3 upstairs and 1 on the main level. The one on the main level is the master. It has its own full bathroom, king size bed, numerous closets, and is quite large. Very nice. Of the 3 bedrooms upstairs, one has a king size bed, while the others have smaller ones. There is also a full bathroom upstairs. All of the bedrooms except one have windows to the beautiful mountain landscape outside.
The living room is quite spacious and includes a fireplace. We were surprised to see the vast number of channels available on the television. Although we didn't watch much tv, it was nice to have so many to pick from, including many movie channels. There are also a number of board and card games available, including a really nice poker set! The house has Wifi as well. This was very handy. It should also be noted that on a table in the front hallway the owners have placed a nice booklet that provides information about the house (including the Wifi password), Georgetown, and the surrounding areas. Definitely be sure to check this out early on in your stay.
The location is fantastic. If you want to be close to the heart of Georgetown, then this is it. The house is just a few blocks from downtown and can be comfortably walked. Additionally, you need only step out the front door to get a spectacular view of the mountains.
In summary, I highly recommend this property, particularly for large groups that need to stay somewhere for multiple days. The value is really here. It beats both the cost and usability of any hotel. I would definitely stay here again.
