I was looking for a plece of rest and relaxation and visited Duncans Bay for the first time in 1992.The tranquility, proximity to the beach, the sound of the sea from my bedroom, and the nature walks made it the perfect place to get away from the stress and strin of every day work. I bought the villa in 1993 and it's as been my home away from home ever since.
There are a combination of factors create the atmosphere at Duncans Bay : the fisherman with the daily fresh catch of fish, lobster, and crabs. The area abounds with talented Jamaica artists doing their wood carvings in the nearby craft shop: Desmond - the wicker worker who made my dining chairs. Nelson Fisher - the talented painter, a native son of the trelawny, who does landscapes and still - life acrylic painting. Several pieces of his work are hanging on the wall in the villa.
The peacefulness which allow me to stay on the beach or my front lawn and read a book all day makes it the perfect getaway for me.
My wife and I came to get married on the beach in Jamaica and stayed at the Palm Villa.
We had an amazing time.
The villa was always kept clean and Ms. Jennifer made our stay delightful.
We awoke to a great breakfast every morning and came home to a scrumptious dinner every night.
We couldn't have asked for a better experience.
If you are looking for a quiet, remote spot with a taste of Jamaica, Palm Villa is for you. The house is just a few yards from the beach....and we felt like it was our private beach as we often had it to ourselves. We had planned on exploring the island but once we settled in, played in the ocean and tasted Miss Jennifer's cooking, we said to ourselves, "It doesn't get any better than this!" Miss Jennifer took great care of us from the very beginning. She fixed lots of tasty Jamaican dishes, many vegetarian at our request. Everything were delicious. She had a local produce vendor come by the house a few times a week and obtained local seafood right from the neighborhood. She can easily arrange private transportation so you don't even need to rent a car. Just pack your bathing suit and leave the rest to the lovely Miss Jennifer.
This year we stayed for a month and we were married in Jamacia.
Jennifer goes way above and beyond to make sure your every single need is taken care of!
We love how we are and have become one of the people of Jamacia.
From the local fisherman were you can buy lobster or and fish fresh from the waters moments ago, to the local vegetable truck that passes buy three or four times a week. If your looking for baked goods the Duncans bakery two min from the villa were you can get hot breads and fresh baked cakes every day except Sunday.
Our driver loris makes it his job to make sure you get everywhere you want to go for a very reasonable price!
Saving the best for last!! The food Jennifer cooks is absolutely fantastic!! Curry anything is great!!!
The ocean is breath taking and just steps from the Palm Villa!!
If you want a real Jamacian experience I recommend this place with out question!!!
This is a great and peaceful place to go for a small retreat. I came with a small group of young ladies and they truly were reviled. They love that loving Jennifer made sure everyone felt at home. The food Jennifer prepared for us were amazing. Jennifer and the driver made sure that we were safe and attend all of our activities as scheduled. I must say, they all want to return and bring others with them. The only regret I have is that the villa is not big enough for me to have all of my retreats there. However, Jennifer and Loris will make sure that all of your needs are meet while you are staying with them.
We came to Palm Villa with mixed expectations. We weren't exactly sure if everything we heard and read would be our same experience too. We were picked up at the airport by Loris and, after a 45 minute drive to Palm Vila, we were greeted by Miss Jennifer. An immediate and overwhelming sense of relief took over all of us as we began our 6 day relaxing vacation. Here's the scoop folks: You need to make a trip to Palm Villa if you are looking for: 1. A beautiful relaxing beachside vacation 2. All your meals cooked by the now infamous, Miss Jennifer. She has the incredible ability to assess your needs and adapt her cooking to your wish-list 3. The ability to unwind, drink, and mix with the locals.
If you are looking for a high-intensity schedule-filled-day.....no need to book here.
Palm Villa forces you to relax...and we did.
Every once in a while, a vacation comes along that hits all the senses: sight, smell, hearing, touch and, especially, taste. Palm Villa checked every one off for our group.
This was our second visit and every year we have booked prior to leaving and extended our stay even longer each time!
The villa has everything you need! If there is a issue they have it fixed very quickly!
This villa is great for a couple, friends or a whole faimly!
The only thing I recommend is being plenty of bug spray and sunscreen BC in Jamacia the cost is very high!
The villa is very clean and well stocked. Truly a home away from home. The garden was beautiful with many varieties of flowers and trees. We enjoyed relaxing in the swing under the almond tree and dancing to the reggae beat in the yard. The beach is just down the road, with stunning white sand. We walked for miles of shoreline without a soul in site. Jennifer was like one of the family. We shopped at the market and she watched our pocketbook. Very relaxing vacation. We will definitely return. See you next year Duncan's Bay!
