WE HAVE A BEAUTIFUL NEW KITCHEN!
Aloha ! Thank you for visiting our site. Our kitchen is complete and I must say, it is beautiful. I am positive our guests will love it as much as we do. We have had "ooos and aaaas" and "it is georgeous". Again, Mike and I have added new items and replaced used ones. We have a new gel foam mattress for the sofa bed, to make sleeping comfortable for your child/children. Of course, we have deep cleaned as we always do when we are here to make our condo welcome you with that ALOHA spirit.
We want you to love our "home away from home" as much as we do and we know our guests will take care of our new kitchen and bathroom just as we do. Hope you enjoy!
We are a retired couple and we love our beautiful ground floor unit at Kona Isle. Step out from the lanai onto the lovely grounds and you are but a few steps from the heated pool and the lovely beach with its BBQ area and gorgeous view. There are lounge chairs and tables on the beach where you can sit and relax while you read a book, or take in the spectacular scenery. Watch the sunset each night with your favorite “glass” while you BBQ fresh fish and enjoy the aloha spirit of this beautiful island. There is a salt water pool adjacent to the property for your enjoyment. The property has a library where you can get a book from the vast selection to read while you relax.
2015 October 18, 2015, Mike and I just returned from Kona. We were there for 4 weeks and before we arrived our new bathroom was started. A new shower with lovely accents was installed. We shopped for a new vanity and mirror and after days of looking, we found the right one. The bathroom took awhile to complete and on Wednesday, the day before we left, the grout around the glass tiles was finished, the faucet in the sink installed and the mirror and towel bar was put into place. While we were shopping for our bathroom, we were also making plans, and looking for everything we need for our next BIG project. In addition, we changed the color scheme with new carpets and pillows in the living room. In the bedroom, we changed the bedspread and installed curtains to frame the windows. Again, we cleaned, and we fixed everything that needed attention. So it was 30 days of working to update our condo and make it comfortable. We hope you enjoy our newest remodel.
2014 Mike and I arrived at our condo Tuesday after Ironman, 2014. I must say the 'Ironwoman' who stayed in our condo had an awesome race. We came to beautiful Kona to deep clean, paint, spruce up our condo and purchase new items such as pillows, coffee pot, toaster, and small utensils for the kitchen. One of our guests said it would be nice to have a coffee table in the living room and I found a perfect one. Another guest asked for chairs for the beach that could be carried on the back. The chairs are in the closet along with a new sun and rain umbrella. We did a lot of maintenance that no one would really notice, but it makes the condo look beautiful and function perfectly. Mike and I always look at what has to be done, and this year we accomplished the task in the 3 plus weeks we were there. When we are at our condo, we always put ourselves in visitors shoes. We ask ourselves, would we want to stay in this condo. We feel our 'home away from home' should be warm and welcoming to all who stay with us. We have some more projects planned but that will be in the near future. Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have about our unit.
2013 While in Kona, we did our yearly maintenance and deep cleaning to make sure everything was as it should be. We shopped for items that were needed and purchased them for the condo. While doing the maintenance and shopping, we started planning our next project for the condo.
2012 We renovated our unit.in April. Tile floors were installed throughout the unit, we painted, added a fan in the bathroom, opened up the kitchen, added new appliances, and purchased a new king size mattress for the bedroom. The kitchen has everything you should need for your stay here. In October, we purchased a new sleeper sofa for your comfort. Of course, our condo is decorated in a Hawaiian theme.
There are beach towels, two soft coolers, one large red cooler and a small red cooler (someone purchased and left in our condo) chairs, mats, umbrellas, boogie boards and some toys for the beach. We also have guide books in our unit to help you plan your stay with us.
We take pride in our unit and each time we visit, we deep clean, and upgrade it a little more. Mike and I love this piece of paradise and we are sure you will also. Mahalo for visiting our site and enjoy your stay!
Mike and I are retired and we live in San Jose, CA, but when we are here, it is our home away from home. Mike was a teacher in middle school and a software engineer. I worked in an elementary school for twenty plus years. Now that we are retired, we come to our condo every year to enjoy the beautiful island and to make sure everything we would want in a condo is available to our guests. We appreciate the feedback we get from our visitors and implement their suggestions. Our condo was renovated in 2012. We had the kitchen opened up, tile floors installed throughout and purchased all new appliances for the kitchen. In October 2015, we remodeled the bathroom. This year, our kitchen was remodeled and we love it and hope you will too. We are continually improving our condo so our guests will have a wonderful experience in Kona Isle and on our beautiful island.
Betty & Mike Mount purchased this condo in 2000
We first visited the Big Island New Year's in the 80's and we loved it. I love looking at properties, just to look, and we would; when we visited. In 2000, just before leaving Kona, an agent took us to Kona Isle.
The instant we saw the beautiful well manicured grounds, we fell in love with Kona Isle. We purchased a ground floor unit which enables you to walk out without walking down stairs. This is a plus because we are constantly going to the pool, or beach and we are right there. Kona Isle is close enough to town (just over a mile) to walk each morning while enjoying the beautiful weather. It is close to everything, restaurants, shopping, churches, beaches. Approximately 10 miles to the airport, and activities abound.
Our condo is close enough to town where you can walk if so desired.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our vacation in your unit. This was our 5th 2 week stay at the complex and the 2nd one in C-4. Great job on fixing it up!
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful and well-stocked condo. The condo had everything we needed for a comfortable stay including beach chairs, coolers and toys to explore Kona's beautiful beaches. The grounds were lush and well maintained with amazing ocean views, and the complex manager was friendly and helpful.
Betty and Mike were great to work with and responded quickly to our inquiries. There was some confusion with our booking through VRBO and the owners quickly resolved it. We would stay here again and highly recommend it. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
We were on the island for 2 weeks. We spent over a week on this property and it was so quiet! Mike and Betty had just about everything you could want plus some! The unit is in excellent condition, and the everyone is very friendly here. The pool is usually empty and is warm. We loved jumping in there after a long day. We also loved sitting by the ocean watching the surf pound the rocks there. The little cove to the right is nice to put your toes in the water (no swimming or at least i wouldn't). There are a ton of crabs to watch and if you look in the water there are tons of hermit crabs. Having chairs to go to the beach was awesome!! They were really comfortable. Unfortunately the boogie board was broke when we got there so I bought a new one and left it for other people to use :). overall this is a really quiet condo and close to everything. I am glad we stayed a little further south of the town since that could be noisy at night. Make sure to take a look at the big island revealed book that they have in the condo. It has some great beaches in it. We loved beach sixtynine and Kua Bay. We spent multiple days at kua bay. Its closer than hapuna (not as big) but gorgeous sand and water.
My husband and I rented this condo for 5 days. We found the condo to be extremely comfortable (loved the recent remodel), clean, and convenient for our daily excursions. We were very close to the "downtown" area (although we chose to drive, not walk). But it was also the perfect spot for the many day trips we took (the Volcano!!, coffee farms, the black sand beach, etc). My favorite part was the mornings spent sitting in the bbq patio area watching the waves hit the rocks as the sun rose behind me coloring the entire area. So peaceful!!
Mike and Betty were fabulous to communicate with and have ensured that the most important items are all stocked. If there is anything you need during the trip, there are several stores within a short drive. We can't wait to return!
We enjoyed our stay here in July. The apartment stayed nice and cool even on hot days, so we only used the A/C at night when we were sleeping. The bed was very comfortable. The property offered nice amenities on the water (grills, pool, places to lounge and watch the ocean or sunset.
Mike and Betty were very cooperative and helpful in making my decision if this was the right property for my needs, Betty promptly called me after my initial inquiry and was very informative. This process was very smooth and the information given to prepare ahead of time was very efficient. Access is streamline and very practical!
The condo provides all essentials for an "at home" type of stay - Beautiful new shower and loved the King sized bed! It will be 5star when the new Kitchen is complete. Thank you for the opportunity to enjoy your condo!
The grounds at Kona Isle are beautiful. You can see the ocean from the pool, and it was great having a private beach area to relax or bbq. We enjoyed the sunsets with a glass of wine and the waves crashing on the rocks. The location is very convenient to the downtown area on Alii, just a five minute drive or approximately 20 minute walk. We liked being close to town, but also far enough to enjoy quietness at night. The unit itself was clean and the newly remodeled bathroom was nice. The kitchen had everything you might need, and having a washer and dryer in the unit was helpful. The ground floor unit made it convenient to get outdoors, but was less private. At night, the jalousie windows did not afford privacy into the bedroom. And unfortunately, closing the windows made it stuffy. It seems they've tried to address this by providing an AC unit in the main living area. This property had a good value. We would stay at Kona Isle again.
We have guide books in our condo so you can plan your days here. There is never a lack of things to do or to see. You can try one of the many excursions offered, go to a luau, deep sea fishing, championship golf, tour the Hulihe Palace, visit the old churches, see the petroglyphs, snorkel in the beautiful clear waters, visit the old towns, and of course spend a day visiting Volcano National Park and learn about the ever changing path of the volcano. There are so many things to do and see, you will have to come back again and again. Do not forget the wonderful restaurants in and around Kona, and there are many. Mike and I will be very happy to share our favorites with you.
