The apartment is in a quiet and well-lighted position, in the characteristic medieval quarter of San Frediano with many typical cafés, taverns and restaurants, which give the chance to taste typical florentine dishes. From its strategic position, on left side of Arno River, one has the opportunity to be, in few steps, right in the historical hearth of the city with its museums and monuments. One can also walk to the 'Fortezza', centre of shows, meetings and conferences, and to the Central Market of S.Lorenzo.
The apartment consists of living room, kitchen - dining room, double bed-room with 2 windows, passage, small-passage (with washing machine), bath-room with shower-box and window, balcony where one can have breakfast or read a book in the silence. It is well equipped with every comfort. It is fresh during summer, but there is also a mobile electric fan. Wi-fi is available.
In the narrow streets there is every kind of shops, supermarket and buses stop.

A near-perfect apartment close to the centre of Florence within easy walking distance of everything. Only two flights of stairs up and they are very well lit. The apartment is very clean, very spacious and quiet, and has everything including basic condiments for cooking. The bedroom windows open on to the street but double glazing keeps most of the street noise out. And the main living area with two daybeds is totally silent. Tile floors keep the apartment pleasantly cool even in the heat (there is a large portable fan but we didn't need it), and there is a small covered balcony off the kitchen overlooking a little courtyard, where it is lovely to sit out sheltered from heavy rain or hot sun. We also really appreciated the generous eat-in kitchen.
There is hot water area heating but it was off by the time we arrived, and hot water for the sinks and shower is the on-demand type. If the shower seems to run out of heat or pressure (tip - don't flush the toilet during a shower!) just turn it off and turn the kitchen hot tap full on; you'll hear the heater and pump turn back on again.
The owner was a wonderful and accommodating host; he wasn't there when we arrived but he had arranged for a friend to show us everything.
We stayed here for 9 days in May-June and would certainly return. Thanks, Ferdinando!
We had just three days in Florence and this apartment was great. The owner met us and explained things. We had to contact him about the hot water, but it turned out that it was a switch that neither he nor we knew about. It is a large apartment that is nicely outfitted and in a nice area. We'd stay there again if we were back in Florence. Highly recommended. Enjoyed the conversations, Ferdinando. Thanks for the hospitality, Jim & Terry.
We actually stayed here in May of 2014 but I haven't written a review until I was looking this apartment up for our next trip to Florence. This was our favorite place to stay in all of Europe. The apartment is amazing, pictures really don't do it justice. The location is fabulous because it's quite and safe yet right in the center of everything. The owner was so charming and helpful. HIGHLY recommend.
This is the second time I have stayed in this apartment.
It was really lovely to be welcomed back so warmly by my hosts, and so nice to see them again!
As before, the apartment is very well equipped for cooking meals, which I usually do when I am traveling.
The bed is very comfy: and this time it was not too hot in Florence, so I spent some evenings enjoying the little patio off the kitchen.
It is very convenient for everything you want to do in Florence, and I did not take a bus the whole time I was there, as everything is within an easy walk.
The apartment is spotlessly clean, and the towels, sheets, and dish towels are always of good quality.
Santo Spirito Square is a short walk away, and a good place to have a delicious spritz after sightseeing all day!
Thank you again, Ferdinando and Gabriella; for keeping such a perfect little apartment, for those of us who like to pretend we live in Italy occasionally! :)
The pictures show what it is: a very comfortable apartment. It has everything you want. Ok, you have to walk to the main atractions in the center, but on the other side, it is quiet, very near the Pallazzo Pitti, and the gardens of Bardini (excelent, much better than the Boboli) and Boboli (too large, few places to seat). We spend 10 days at this apartment and it was really good. There is a supermarket at 60 meters, some restaurants in the neighborhood. Buses quite near (very easy way to go to the train station). Highly recommended. Friendly owners, give you fruits and a bottle of wine when you arrive.
We spent six weeks in this lovely apartment. It's a large one bedroom with a well-equipped kitchen and in a perfect location. It's within walking distance of everything you want to see in Florence. The owners are very kind and want you to enjoy your stay!! They could not do enough for us. I will definitely stay there again if I every get the opportunity to return to Italy!
'San Frediano' is one of the older quarter of Florence where one can find stores of antique dealing and typical handicraft. The morning is the best time to wander round the medieval streets and have a look to the lively open air market, held every day in Piazza Santo Spirito. Here is the famous Church by Brunelleschi with a wood crucifix sculptured by Michelangelo at 18 years old. Close is also Piazza del Carmine with Cappella Brancacci painted by Masaccio. “Serragli” apartment is the ideal location to take advantage of Florentine life, live a slow holiday visiting monuments and museums, all reachable walking in 5/15 minutes: Pitti Palace - Boboli Garden, Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi Gallery, Palazzo Vecchio, Cathedral and Giotto Tower, Medici Palace - Chapels, Accademia (David). Railly Station is 10 minutes walk as the Teatro Comunale, with the famous Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. With a little longer walk one reach Piazzale Michelangelo, from which admire the spectacular view of the town.
