About Mark Ketcham

Mark and Allie met while we were both living in Mill Valley, California and moved up to their vineyard property in 2007. We have two children and make Pinot Noir. Mark grew up in Palo Alto and Allie hails from Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Mark Ketcham purchased this estate in 2000

Why Mark Ketcham chose Sonoma County

The Russian River appellation produces the world's best Pinot Noir. We grow our own grapes here on property and produce 1200 cases of premium Pinot Noir annually.

What makes this estate unique

This home sits on top of a hill side with spectacular views of our vineyards and Eastside Road neighbors. We are close to town yet secluded enough to feel very private.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you for the wonderful stay. We had a great time riding our bikes 50 plus miles each day.

A little slice of paradise

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I couldn't have been more pleased with our stay at the vineyard. The owners were welcoming, fun, and absolutely gracious. The rental apartment is gorgeous, overlooking their vineyard, with stunning views across the valley. The setup is ideal - the apartment is over the owner's garage, separate from their own house, making it very private and quiet. There is one bedroom with a king bed and one bath, and it's open concept, so there is no door on the bedroom. Keep this in mind if you will have more folks traveling with you. But for my husband and me, it was just perfect. You can enjoy coffee on the deck in the morning, and a lovely glass of their pinot in the evening. Yes, their wines are remarkable! You're invited to walk the property and meander through the vines at your leisure. We absolutely loved our afternoon strolls in the warm sun, a glass of wine for each of us. You simply can't find a more relaxing, beautiful place. We will be back, and of course we joined their wine club!

Fantastic stay, beautiful property

  • 5 of 5

Do not hesitate to book this. The guest house is gorgeous, complete with its own kitchen and deck with Adirondack chairs overlooking the vineyard. The hosts are wonderful and go out of their way to make sure your stay is fantastic, even suggesting and making a dinner reservation for us. House is 1 exit down from Healdsburg square, making it quite convenient. Be sure to take them up on their offer for a private tasting, too! Thanks so much, Allie and Mark!

Spacious, amenities, peaceful vistas

  • 5 of 5

Tucked away just outside of the downtown square, this lovely guest house was clean, open, and private. The kitchen was stocked with basics such as coffee, essential condiments, and pots/plates/utensils. We could have easily stayed several days, and we felt right at home. Internet, printer, plenty of TV options, and washer/dryer too. Owners were warm and generous and helped get us oriented to the local culture and best spots.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the kind words Margaux. It was nice meeting you and Daryl, and we are so glad you enjoyed your little getaway. I know Mark is excited to do a wine dinner in Augusta, so I'm sure we will keep in touch. Cheers, Denée

Great open floor plan, very quiet. Pleasant 10 minute drive to village square in Healdsburg, 101 even closer. Renee is very helpful and available for suggestions to optimize your visit. Great VRBO experience, highly recommend.

Map

This guest house sits on the 17.5 acre vineyards of Ketcham Estate. We are walking distance from J & Rodney Strong wineries & we are a short drive to all Russian River Valley wineries. The Healdsburg Plaza is only a five minutes drive away.

In Healdsburg you will find world-class dining, chic shopping, antiques, farmers markets (Tuesday & Saturday), theater, and Tuesday night concerts on the Square. Healdsburg is a family-orientated town with a local baseball team, a Memorial Day Weekend parade & fair, Fourth of July Fireworks, loads of outdoor activities, and of course wine tasting.

We are also a five minute drive from the town of Windsor which has two weekly farmer's markets & free summer concerts of Thursday nights.

About 10 miles south is the town of Santa Rosa which hosts Safari West and The Charles Schulz Museum. The Sonoma County Airport (with bus service to SFO & OAK) is only ten minutes away.

We are about an hour north of the Golden Gate Bridge.
