About Yindra Vylet
The magic of CreekHouse brought us to North Carolina. We lived at different parts of the word and spent the past decades in California but after visiting the CreekHouse we decided to leave everything behind and move to Bakersville North Carolina where we first bought another house. Few months later the CreekHouse got on the market, we couldn't resist and decided to buy it for vacation rental. The mountains surrounding Bakersville is the home of many artists, many of them have the similar stories; once they visited the area, decided to move here. We both studied art in Europe but life drifted us to other carriers, but now we have the opportunity to continue our broken path. The beauty of the natural scenery is just indescribable; everyday is a wonder. When we are not at the CreekHouse, we are hiking, creating art, remodeling our other house, visiting galleries, taking pictures of the wonderful wildlife or practicing culinary art. We enjoy making people happy by sharing the CreekHouse with our guests.

Why Yindra Vylet chose Bakersville
The moment we saw this property we wanted to call it ours. The serenity of this property just magical. It is a labor of love to maintain the large lush landscaping with private creek bordering the property and a pond but it is worth every effort. Deer, wild turkeys and many different birds are frequent visitors here, magical to watch them from the large screened porch. Spending time at CreekHouse is a life changing experience as many of our CreekHouse guests called it. We like the fact it is in the center of many activities; ski area, waterfalls, hikes, ziplining, gem mining, horse riding, rafting, Asheville, Johnson City, Burnsville, Spruce Pine. All within 45 minutes of drive which is in Los Angeles traffic term: “very close”.
What makes this Cottage unique
Everything about this place is unique, but sitting on the front porch looking straight up at the Roan Mountain while listening to birds chatter ceaselessly against the background sounds of the rushing water makes it a place like no other. As if that were not enough, the spiritual private boulder garden located just to the left of the screened porch is a total unexpected delight. I feel closer to God when I am at the Creekhouse.

Peace by the Creekside.
Attention to detail at this property was amazing. The music was playing softly as you walked in, it smelled good, was very clean,. A personalized greeting poster was framed on the table, along with home baked cookies and fresh flowers from the numerous gardens on the property. The screened in porch is wonderful as you can watch the deer and hear the river below. The Screened in Gazebo was another favorite by the river. The River was our favorite place and we caught several fish. If you are looking for a restful peaceful place this is it. The drive up Roan Mountain was beautiful. Thanks so much, it was wonderful.
Little Piece of Heaven!
We were welcomed by the owners, who were very nice, with a plate of fresh baked cookies, and a framed, personalized sign with our names, as well as the names of our dogs. A nice touch! Darling little cabin, well stocked with everything you might need, and perfect for a romantic getaway. Attractively decorated, lots of cute art pieces inside and outside. Never did figure out how to work the convection oven, but no big loss. The star of this house is the huge screened in porch with a vaulted ceiling, lots of wicker furniture, a big dining table, a great view of the 3 acre yard, and the sound of the rushing water in the creek at the edge of the property. We practically lived on that porch the entire time we were there, and truly enjoyed just how relaxing it was! There is also a screened in little gazebo right on the edge of the water that was terrific. To reach the creek, you do have to go down a fairly steep flight of stairs, so this would not be for someone with any physical limitations, or for very small children. The journey down these steps is well rewarded with the view of the creek however. Gorgeous! The yard, all 3 acres of it, has flowers everywhere, trees, a pond, and is just glorious! We had no cellphone reception there at all, but after the 1st day, it was kind of nice to not have that distraction. There is internet service however, and Dish TV. Roan mountain is only 14 miles away and it is a beautiful drive. For groceries or restaurants, we found that driving over to Spruce Pine, about 15 minutes away, was the best bet. Bakersville is cute, but not many choices. We highly recommend this little house, and look forward to going there again!
The perfect retreat
We loved staying at the Creek House! The grounds were beautiful. We spent a lot of time in the screened-in porch and gazebo! We can't wait to plan our next visit!
Brief but wonderful married couple trip
We took a rare 24 hour break from the kids, and had a wonderful time here. We briefly met the owners, who were very nice ( they live in the area but not at this property). The large screened in porch and the detached gazebo closer to the creek were both put to good use, and waiting in the energetic creek was enjoyable.
We’ve rented many times in many locations, and this rental experience was up there with the best.
Fabulous Family Vacation Spot
This beautiful house in this gorgeous location was the perfect place for our family vacation this summer. It was the ideal spot for my husband and I to decompress from our hectic work lives and our kids to have fun & explore nature at the same time. We highly recommend the Creek House and its amazing hosts, Yindra & John. Thank you!
Fabulous, beautiful place.
Welcomed by soft music and homemade cookies. Property was beautiful inside and out. 20x20 screen porch was the greatest place to hang out. Fire flies in the evening, Creek walk in the morning. Simply magical.
Thank you so much !
