The kitchen features stainless steel appliances and is well-equipped with a complete supply of cookware, dishes and cutlery. Small appliances include a toaster oven, a microwave and a Keurig coffee maker. After you have brewed your morning coffee, simply take a stroll through the French doors into the courtyard to sip your coffee and listen to the sounds of morning in New Orleans, which might include the horn of a paddle-wheeler making its way down the Mississippi a few blocks away!
And while you are in the courtyard, you might as well enjoy all of the amenities offered, sit around the fountain, throw some Louisiana shrimp on the grill or just relax on the outdoor furniture. It is so comfortable that you might not want to leave!
My husband and I are retired and live a few blocks away. We are always available to offer assistance and recommendations to ensure that our guest have a great experience in New Orleans!
' Laisser Les Bons Temps Rouler a la Maison Scott'.
We fell in love with New Orleans and particularly the Marigny area after my husband's work brought us here. We purchased this lovely home a couple of years ago to enjoy as a second home for guests and family. We now live in New Orleans permanently just a few blocks away from La Maison Scott, so when are guest require assistance we are always available.
We established La Maison Scott in hope to share our lovely get away with our guests.
Suzanne Scott purchased this house in 2011
A home away from home with a New Orleans flair. Location, location location..So nice to be walking distance to most attractions and not need a rental car.Although if you do have a car there is plenty of parking.Great neighborhood which offers our guests a real New Orleans experience..

We loved our stay in this very confortable home! The location was perfect, close to Frenchman St, French Quarter and parks. After a long day of touring the city it was nice to come back to a relaxing quiet courtyard. The layout of the house was great for our family of six, linens and beds are extremely comfortable. We loved the large bright kitchen fully equipped to entertain.
Could not have asked for a better home to celebrate our anniversary !!
We highly recommend this home!!
My wife, daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this home. It has all the kitchen utensils, tableware and cookware necessary to prepare meals and have a pleasant evening with old friends. We could not have asked for anything more. We did have a minor problem with a couple of electrical outlets not functioning properly but it was corrected promptly. We have been vacationing through VRBO rentals for a number of years and this is by far the most perfect property we have rented. Thanks Suzanne for making our stay wonderful.
The home is exquisitely decorated, immaculate, and very comfortable. It is so charming. All amenities are provided for a pleasant stay. We enjoyed having a light breakfast in the kitchen and wine and appetizers on the patio as well as just chatting in the spacious living room. We were close to the French Quarter and traveled by Uber to and from all of our adventures. The upstairs has a magnificent suite with a lovely balcony and the other two bedrooms are certainly adequate. The home had plenty of closet space, privacy if desired, and a beautiful ambiance.
Suzanne, the owner, was always accessible and accommodating. The location is in transition and we felt safe.
We went on both the Laura and Oak Alley plantations tours, enjoyed cajun and zydego music in Quarter, dined at Galatoire's, Antoine's, and Brennan's. We met Ida Manheim (granddaughter of original owner) at the Manheim Gallery...in NOLA 97s years.....Just amazing history and antiques! Of course, with four women we did do some shopping too :) None of us had been to Nola since Katrina...A great visit to a great American city.
Four of us stayed in the three bedrooms. Everyone was very comfortable. Good location. We walked to several restaurants and stores easily and felt safe walking at night. The host is very nice and very responsive. One of the best vacation home experiences that we've had.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 day stay in this house. It was clean and spacious and very well equipped with everything you could think of. It was also very nicely furnished and very comfortable. It was very hot while we were there, so we did not walk to the French Quarter at all. It is a bit of a walk, so if you have kids or elderly people with you, this is something to keep in mind. We did rent a car and appreciated not having to pay for parking like we would have at a hotel.
The house is really quiet. The upstairs has a beautiful room with a king bed and nice bathroom. There is no door between bedroom and bathroom, so it is best for a couple. Having said that, my son and daughter stayed up there and they worked it out. The sunroom has a queen bed (no longer a sleeper sofa) which was really comfortable. You access that room through the downstairs bedroom, so its helpful to have a good relationship with the person/people in that bedroom since you will be cutting through it on a regular basis. My mother was in that room, so it worked for us.
The FQ is reasonably accessible. Frenchmen St. has fun bars and restaurants and is an easy few blocks walk. I-10 is very accessible, so getting around in general from this house is pretty easy.
I would definitely recommend this house to others. Suzanne was great to work with.
Will be back!
Spent 4 nights at Suzanne's home in the Marigny in New Orleans and loved everything about our stay. We were 3 couples and found the house provided plenty of space for everyone. The house was immaculate and very homey. Beautifully decorated and fully equipped with all your basic necessities. The house is just a short stroll from Frenchman street and the river. We did not have a car and found everything within walking distance or a short trolley car ride away. Thank you Suzanne and Rene for the wonderful introduction to New Orleans. We hope to be back again soon some day.
Barbara and family
