About Julie, Amy, Penny or Shaylynn
About: My wife and I moved to Bear Lake about 5 years ago and started Bear Lake Cabin Rentals about 4 years ago. We love the Bear Lake area. The lake is such a beautiful blue and the area is so nice and charming. The winters can be cold but they are so peaceful and uncongested. It is a great place to get away from the busy city life. Why Garden City: We enjoy managing properties for people and not only building a relationship with the owners but all the great guest that stay with us. We have a lot of people that come back year after year to enjoy all that Bear Lake has to offer The Unique Benefits at this Cabin: During the summer months there are tons of great outdoor activities. There is the Minnetonka cave, tons of hiking and biking trails. A huge beautiful lake for boating, water skiing and wake boarding. In the winter Beaver Mountain is just 15 minutes up the canyon and is an undiscovered treasure for the ski or snowboard enthusiast. There are hundreds of miles of terrain for snowmobiling and some great sledding hills too.

Large cabin, overall it's just okay
Booking was easy and the communication throughout the process was simple. This house is very large and was ideal as we had 2 families of 4 (each) staying in the home. The very top level with bunk beds gets very warm, but fans were provided. The master was fine with an on-suite and the 2nd bedroom with queen bed has a bathroom right next door. The basement has a few additional bedrooms but the entire basement smelled musty and like there was water damage. The door on the lowest level, where everyone goes in and out, was next to impossible to open and close. The TV's are very out-dated and the owners had taken some effort to ensure you couldn't watch any television while you are at their property. We talked for some time with the property management company and they said cable television should have been provided, but it wasn't, on any of the TV's. Once it's dark outside, there isn't much to do, so this was a big draw back for us. The kitchen is large and was well stocked. The showers were a disappointment (water pressure and cheap shower heads) and the beds were not that comfortable. If you are looking for a lot of beds, but don't care about much else, this is the property for you as it's reasonably priced. If you're wanting something nicer, look at other options. This house is dated and worn and it shows.
It was a great way for our large family to be together. The cabin was great and accommodated all of
The experience was great. The overall experience was great. We plan on returning again next year. Probably the biggest complaint or concern we had was how often the mattress pads and comforters are washed.
Nice getaway for our family reunion
We found everything as advertised. One thing we noticed, being that we were staying in the heat of the summer, the lower level stays much cooler than the middle level, and the loft is hard to get cool in the heat of the day. At night, the outside temps were such that opening the windows cooled the loft just fine. So, long story short, put those who like it cool on the lowest possible level, and those who like it warm on the uppermost level. Again, a nice place to getaway for our family reunion.
Thanks for your review. I am sure others will find your advice useful. Something else that helps is on the thermostat there is a switch to turn the fan from "auto" to "on" so the fan runs all the time and recirculates the air, helping to balance the temperature.
Come back and see us!
Nice cabin. great view
Cabin was very clean. I would not try to put more than 20 people in it. The hide bed was broken .
The manager was great. Had everything we needed. A lot of fun stuff to do. Great vacation spot
Glad you enjoyed the cabin. We will look to repair the hide-a-bed asap. Was it the one near the outside door downstairs. The other two had previously been repaired with new sleep decks. Looks this third one now needs the same.
This cabin was perfect for our vacation! All of the photos accurately reflect the condition of the cabin and I loved that they had so many pics posted. Prior to our trip I emailed the owner on several different occassions and always received a prompt reply to my questions. The owner was very helpful as well as the property mgmt company. The BBQ did not work the first night we arrived. I called the mgmt company the next morning before we went out on the lake, by the time we had returned it had been fixed. The cabin is close to the marina and the Quick and Tasty. Although this restaurant is known for the raspberry shakes, in my opinion they have the best home cut fries around! :)
The best, or at least my favorite part about this cabin was the deck!! The view from this deck is AMAZING!!
I would recommend this renting this cabin to anyone. I will also be checking the availability of it for our next vacation up to Bear Lake! Loved it!
We are glad you had a nice time. One of my favorite features of our cabin is the deck and view as well. I have taken many sunrise pictures that are breathtaking.
