This is a lovely duplex apartment located on the third floor, but not too many steps, overlooking the Squero di San Trovaso (the Gondola shipyard) where Gondals are still hand made by local artisans.
It is a duplex apartment and on the main floor there are two bedrooms; a double and one with two twins, a living room, a kitchen with dining area and a bathroom with tub; upstairs there is a large double bedroom with bathroom with shower.
It is a lovely, cosy, bright and quiet apartment with great views and located in one of Venice’s most lovely areas (just of the Zattere and two minutes to the Accademia).
The apartment was exactly as we had hoped - spacious and a cool retreat for our family of five from the afternoon sun and crowds in July. We really liked the Dorsoduro area and enjoyed the local restaurants and attractions but easily walked to and from Piazza San Marco. We found the apartment to be very clean and our VOV contacts very helpful. Thank you.
This was a great apartment for 4 people (two were a couple). The upstairs requires a little maneuvering because the ceiling beams are a little low. The apartment was spacious and comfortable, and very close to all the places we needed to go! Thank you so much!
As we stepped off the ferry, we were greeted by a very professional woman from Views on Venice who escorted us to the apartment, which was in walking distance. This was a lovely apartment and provided enough space for our famiy of 6 (2 adults and 4 teenagers). The WiFi worked well (important to the teens) and the apartment was bright, clean and had everything we needed. The location was perfect because it was very quiet, yet close to everything. The weather couldn't have been better in Venice (which was surprising to us) but the air conditioners kept everything cool inside. We would definitely work with Views on Venice again and hopefully we will be back to Venice soon.
Want to be close to the action but not experience the mob scene around St. Mark's Square? This Dorsoduro apartment, located on a quiet canal, overlooking a gondola-making shop, is perfect. Very close to the Zattere stop for easy access to the main sites (or if you are a walker, they are no more than up to 15-20 minutes away through charming neighborhoods).
The agency provides its own guidebook to local restaurants and after hiking all over Venice the spots right around the apartment were marvelous! La Bitte Enoteca e trattoria and Locanda Montin were two of our favorites and the best cicchetti was at Canitnon gia'Schiavi which you can see from the apartment windows.
Pictures are representative of the cleanliness, light and layout. We are a couple with two teenagers and the set-up was perfect. As we were travelling with another family, the agency even had other apartments in the same building and close by.
We would highly recommend this property and will stay here again when we come back.
The city stretches across 118 small islands in the marshy Venetian Lagoon along the Adriatic Sea in northeast Italy. The saltwater lagoon stretches along the shoreline between the mouths of the Po (south) and the Piave (north) Rivers. The population estimate of 272,000 inhabitants includes the population of the whole Comune of Venezia; around 62,000 in the historic city of Venice (Centro storico); 176,000 in Terraferma (the Mainland), mostly in the large frazione of Mestre and Marghera;
