Three bedroom, two bathroom with a fenced in lawn super close to ANP!
This newly renovated three-bedroom and two-bath house on Ledgelawn Avenue features a happy backyard, plenty of sleeping area, and a small office where an internationally best-selling novel was written. Really.
There's a grill outside on the deck, a second oven, a big gravel driveway and it's all in incredibly close proximity to Great Meadow Loop (for a hike), the Park Loop Road and in-town Bar Harbor. Lilacs bloom. Bird sing. And it's an incredibly happy place to enjoy Bar Harbor.

About Steve Boucher
One of us writes books for children and young adults. The other one has spent most of his adult life protecting and serving the people of Bar Harbor. This house on Ledgelawn is where we spent a lot of happy time, celebrating the awesomeness that is Bar Harbor.
Steve Boucher purchased this House in 2011
Why Steve Boucher chose Bar Harbor
We bought this property because we love Bar Harbor and its quirky, outdoorsy appeal. Ledgelawn Avenue has always been a place for families. Even though Bar Harbor is so small, thousands of trick-or-treaters come to our door. On the Fourth of July, the parade stages at the ballfield and finishes on this street. This is small town America at its best. Right here. And then there's the park. You can run out the door, turn left and in less than five minutes, you are in one of the most beautiful places in the country. It's hard to beat that.
What makes this House unique
We love the front porch, the neighbors. We love the way the lilacs smell in Spring and the way the cook-outs smell in the summer. The back yard with its deck and trees just beyond the fence, make you feel secluded even though it's just a short jaunt into town. There are lots of tiny quirks in the house like an occasional old-fashioned light fixture, double ovens, and an overall light and airy feel.

Beautiful home with easy access to downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park!
This home is perfect for us! We could walk into town in the evening for pizza and ice cream (of course!) and do a little shopping. The Hannaford is also close by, so we made a grocery run on our first day. The full kitchen was great for making our picnic lunches for the park. We loaded up our cooler and never had to leave the park until dusk when we would head back "home" to grab a sweatshirt and head into town for dinner. The house is immaculate and has everything you need. The blueberry pie was delicious, as always! Thank you for sharing your house with us! We cannot wait to visit again next September.
We loved everything about the house!! It was super clean, spacious and fun. The kids loved roasting marshmallows at night with the fire pit. There is a playground and ball field right around the corner. It is within walking distance to town. Also something that I didn't see listed on the amenities are the Pack n Play and High Chair. Having these already at the house made our long drive that much easier. We loved it all!!
Thank you so much! We are so happy you enjoyed your time here, please come back and stay with us anytime!

Great house, Great location
Nice Stay in Bar Harbor
This property was a great fit for our group of six. It was an easy 10-15 minute walk to restaurants in Bar Harbor. At night, the street was quiet and made for easy sleeping. We used the fire pit on the back patio to make s'mores and while we didn't cook in much, we did appreciate that the kitchen had everything we needed.
Very nice property.
We had a lovely stay in this home. This was our first visit to Bar Harbor and we truly loved the experience. The locals are so warm, welcoming and courteous. We enjoyed our tours through Acadia and a lunch at Jordan Pond is a must. Our whale watching cruise was fantastic...a male and female breached together, then he, breached many times to show off to the female and to his captive audience...a wonderful experience. Shaun, the property owner, is an exceptional young man. He takes great pride in this home and was so helpful for all the questions we had. Bar Harbor will always have a place in our hearts,
Perfect home for a trip to Bar Harbor/Acadia
Our family of 8 stayed here for a week. It was the perfect home: clean, plenty of space for all of us, games for rainy days and evenings, kitchen appliances, washer/dryer, comfortable beds/pillows, and even a blueberry pie to welcome us. The location was amazing. We were a 10 minutes walk away from downtown. Close enough to walk but far enough to be away from the summer crowds. For exploring Acadia and Mount Desert island, we were right on a main street that took us right out of Bar Harbor and to major attractions within minutes. The best part for us was the town's playground and ball fields that were directly behind the house. The kids loved it and spent time there each day.
The owners and management company were extremely helpful and quick to respond to any questions or issues- from booking through our visit. Their customer service was amazing.
Would definitely recommend this house to anyone staying in the area.
We're at the end of Ledgelawn Ave, and it's a straight shot right (five minute walk) to the Park Loop Road and Acadia National Park. The playground, the YMCA and the ballfield with a basketball court is within a three-minute walk. You can see the mountains from the upstairs windows. Walking to the village of Bar Harbor takes less than five minutes. The ocean. The mountains. The town. You can beat it! This is the park's big anniversary! Come enjoy it!
