The house dates back to the 17Th Century, in the last 10 years, it has been expanded & modernised into a comfortable and spacious abode,
There has been an private nature reserve at the farm for some years and access to this 10 acre site is available to guests. The reserve is comprised of forest, a two-acre secluded pleasure lake, fully stocked with Carp, and a wet flower meadow with many rare species, including orchids. The site is teeming with wildlife making it an ideal destination for birdwatchers, anglers and nature lovers.
It is situated just inside the Gower Peninsula with its many and famous beaches, the most renowned of these being Three Cliffs Bay, which is 5 minute drive from the property. There are 4 Golf Courses within 10 minutes of the farm.
The property is an ideal location for small bespoke weddings prices on application . It also lends itself perfectly for holistic courses and retreats.
We are 3 generations of one family and all had a brilliant time There is plenty of space, both inside and out, and, as we had brought kayaks with us, the lake provided great entertainment. The farm is really conveniently located for all the Gower beaches, and the shops in Killay are very handy. The butcher is particularly good.
Amanda dealt with all our enquiries promptly and efficiently and could not have been more helpful.
We are just sorting out dates for next summer. Can't wait!
We stayed at the farm with family and friends and it was a great experience.
The facilities at the house are excellent. We had a group of fifteen staying and eight more invited to a bbq.
Everyone had loads of space and Amanda and Emily were available with help and advice about the area taxis etc.
We had a big log fire a huge table to entertain at and lots of happy memories.
We were there for a wedding in oxwich bay and it was so nice to have time either side of the big day. The only negative comment was that we had to come home
We booked the house for our wedding and erected a gorgeous double tipi tent for the revelries close to the house which created a fantastic unusual stylish venue. Amanda and her staff helped us organise the whole day and nothing was too much trouble and the atmosphere perfect. The house itself has a wonderful rustic charm with large well appointed bedrooms, some en suite, a large but cosy kitchen complete with aga, a cosy snug lounge plus a very large lounge complete with wood burner and beams. All our guests commented on how unusual and lovely the setting was with stables outside, large green expanses of lawn and of course the five mins walk down to the lake complete with rowing boat. This place is a gem, a well kept secret. Rain or shine it is a place to enjoy. You will not be disappointed!
With 19 members of the family arriving from all over the world, we decided this year that we didn't want it to be any one person's responsibility to host Christmas and not did we all want to be crammed into a tiny space. In the process of our research we came across this enormous holiday cottage close to Swansea.
It looked wonderful on the website and the owner couldn't have been more accomodating so we were excited before we got there but little prepares you for quite how wonderful the cottage is.
Everything is thought through for ease of use. The property is HUGE! The children just couldn't believe the space and ran up and down the two staircases, playing hide and seek, rehearsed numerous shows for the adults and curled up all on one sofa to listed to grandad read them a goodnight story (and with 9 in total that was no mean feat!).
The grounds are stunning - perfect for a walk in the crisp Welsh air or a row in the boat on the lake. The horses were also a huge hit with the kids who helped to muck out the stables.
All of this was magical but it was the practical details that so impressed! The towels and linen provided. The good cooking utensils and knives (so rare in a rental), the catering oven which made catering for 19 for Christmas dinner a pleasure and not a chore, and the owner herself who went out of her way to be accomodating - even decorating the house with several Christmas trees and beautiful decorations.
It goes without saying that we have rebooked for 2015. I would recommend this house without a moment's hesitation.
Thank you Amanda for a magical week. It has been 14 years since we were all together as a family for Christmas and it couldn't have been more special.
We rented this property for my partners 60 birthday celebration and it was perfect, over the 4 days we had between 2 and 20 guests. Amanda was great and nothing was too much trouble, our highlights were rowing on the lake, roasting chestnuts on the fire and sitting around the fire pit watching a spectacular sunset.
We booked this property for 11 adults and 5 kids to celebrate a 50th b/day. It was ideal and much better than planned. With friends and family visiting from nearby, enough room inside and out, we sat 21 for dinner one night plenty of space. The walk around the lake and grounds was very popular, with plenty of outside space for children to play safely.
Again, we would especially like to thank Amanda for making the booking as easy as possible and responding to our e mails -many many thanks
We will be returning, it was ideal for out needs, everyone (EVERYONE) had a great time.
It is situated just inside the Gower Peninsula with its many and famous beaches, The Gower itself is Britain's first ever A.N.O.B (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) being preserved over 50 years ago.
The farm is flanked on one side by beautiful common land which is grazed by wild horses.
