A well appointed, comfortable home in a fantastic location. Walk to dozens of restaurants, cafes, shops and the city's best park. A perfect choice for contract professionals, corporate housing and families escaping home remodeling.

Although located in the city's premier National Historic Preservation District, this 1908 Arts & Crafts style has was fully remodeled in 2012. All new central heat and air, refinished hardwood floors, high quality beds, luxury linens and six flat screen televisions to keep you comfortable and entertained. Cable and Wifi are included as well.

Original woodwork, details and period appropriate fixtures maintain the home turn of the century style. A spacious deck with grill, table and benches adds outdoor lounging space. A fire table creates a wonderful backyard focal point.

The location is second to none, with all of the city's best located close by-- Walk less than a block to Cherokee Park, a 400 acre urban oasis of walking trails, playgrounds, running loop, golf course, fountains and ball fields. From May to September, enjoy the free summer concerts each Sunday night in Willow Park (a small park at the front of the larger Cherokee Park). Or, walk in the other direction, less than a block, to shopping boutiques, coffee shops, great restaurants and, just a block further on, a full grocery, dry cleaner and movie theater. Churchill Downs is 4 miles away, downtown is 2 miles and the airport is 5 miles.

Built in 1908, the home is a classic brick four square- The first floor has a large living room with sleeper sofa, a dining room (open to the kitchen), a kitchen with island seating for 4 and a full bathroom and access to the 350 sq. ft. deck.

The second floor has three queen bedrooms, a small den with a sleeper sofa and two full baths. The third floor has a king master suite with an open plan bath (walk in shower for 2, claw foot tub and separate toilet closet).

Every bedroom has a wall mounted flat screen television, as do the living room and den. Wifi is available throughout the home. Beds are made up with 400 thread count cotton sheets and four top quality hypo allergenic pillows.

The kitchen is fully equipped with plates, glassware and cutlery for 12 as well as pots, pans, utensils and small appliances. A corian topped island seats four.

There is a two car garage with additional off street parking for one large or two small cars. Ample street parking is available as well.

PLEASE NOTE: Although close to many restaurants, clubs, cafes and bars, the home is on a quiet residential street. Quiet hours are from 10pm to 9am with no noise audible outside the home permitted during these hours.

Maximum occupancy of 12 is for families only. No more than 8 unrelated adults permitted. No bachelor party groups permitted. Housekeeping services are available at an additional charge.

About Deirdre Seim

In November 2011 I purchased this property because of it's outstanding location and 'good bones'. After an extensive remodel, it is ready to keep you in comfort and style for the duration of your Louisville residency. My family uses the house about 6 weeks a year, but it is available most dates. After many years in the hospitality industry, I know what makes a home comfortable and what amenities are most appreciated.

Deirdre Seim purchased this house in 2011

Why Deirdre Seim chose Louisville

Louisville is the home of the Kentucky Derby, of course, but it also has one of the nation's finest park systems, great live theater, huge arts festivals and (mostly) lovely weather. The Cherokee Triangle neighborhood is a vibrant, upscale but eclectic zone flanked by gorgeous parks on one side and nightlife, shopping and restaurants on the other-- I have lived in the area for 15 years and would not consider a move to any other Louisville location!

What makes this house unique

1-Same day booking available, just call 502-403-9839

2- 24 hour check in with our digital lock system-- no keys to pick up or return!

3. Perfect location with parks, clubs, restaurants all within a short walk.

Home was clean and plenty big for our group. Having 4 bathrooms was awesome!

The kitchen was stocked, plenty of parking, spacious home, beautifully decorated and access was so easy with digital lock! We would definitely look into renting this house again, if we return to Louisville. We had zero problems or issues.

As if we were at home

  • 5 of 5

A great hub for our family reunion. We had 9 people in two families and 5 different sleeping sets. This house took care of us all. House and space was gracious and well supplied. If we had known the kitchen was so ready we would have scheduled a family dinner there. Spaghetti for 9 next time. The location was easily accessible to parks/shops/coffee/ice cream. We would be happy to meet and entertain there again.

great property and great location!

  • 5 of 5

This was a perfect house for our trip. Able to sleep 8 comfortably - don't forget to find the third floor through one of the bedrooms! Best part is the house is within walking distance of many great restaurants and bars. Otherwise it's a quick cab ride to everywhere else you could want to go. Would gladly stay here again.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the great review! Do want to make one correction-- the stairway to the third floor is thru the small den, not a bedroom. One cannot get to any other room thru any of the four bedrooms. The den has a sleeper sofa, often guests make in into a sort of fifth bedroom, so that may be what you are thinking of.

This is great place to stay with family or couples

  • 5 of 5

From arrival to departure our experience was great. The proximity of food and fun could not have been better unless of course you provided a limo or helicopter. Every part of the house worked as you would expect and the décor was very comfortable. You need to get the third floor master if possible, but all the rooms were great. I would suggest an upgrade on maybe one mattress. The neighborhood was quite and everyone we encountered was friendly.

Thank you and we will see you again.

Great location,but...

  • 3 of 5

Loved the convenience of this location...walking distance to many restaurants and a neat park! Wish they had mowed the grass and trimmed the bushes...especially where we needed to walk on the sidewalk to the house. Also wish the basement with the washer and dryer was more ready for guest use. We still had towels in both the washer and dryer running, and it was 30 minutes late for check-in. Later in the week we needed to request extra tp, trash bags, and laundry soap because extras were not available...and we were paying for 8 adults and 3 kids.

Owner's Response: I am a little puzzled by John and Marcia's review, but very sorry that the stay wasn't what they expected. We try hard to ensure our guests have a great stay. I think John (the guest I communicated with) may have misunderstood our home rental or perhaps there was a miscommunication of some kind. With our emailed arrival information, we send a list of what is stocked in the home-- towels/linens, etc. and "a starter supply" of tissue, local coffee, half&half, etc. Each of the 4 bathrooms is stocked with 2 rolls of tissue, 4 bath towels, 2 hand towels, 2 washcloths, hand soap and bath soap. When John said that 16 towels were not going to be enough, we brought in 12 brand new towels-- Because they were new, we had to take the tags off and run them thru the wash-- we told them the new towels were in the basement wash and assumed they would take them out of the dryer as needed and transfer the 6 still in the washer to the dryer. With the exception of the requested additional towels in the wash, the entire home was completely ready at check in time. We do not supply paper towels, but instead we stock clean dish towels. A previous guest left a partial roll of paper towels under the sink. When John called 4 days into his stay to complain that they were out of tissue and towels, I reminded him that we don't stock paper towels and that we only supply the "starter" set up of 2 rolls per bath. He was upset by this so we brought over paper towels and tissue. There was a large box of single use laundry detergent pods sitting by washer, I think John and Marcia may not have been familiar with those, so we brought over liquid detergent for their use. The rose bush was too big- so that you have to step a bit around it on the garage path- and should have been trimmed back. I should not have let it stay that big (it was covered in beautiful red roses and I hated to cut all the buds off). We have trimmed it back now and I will cut it back at the end of the season so that it will be smaller next year. We don't have grass to mow-- As you see from the pictures, the home has a rock garden and large deck in the back. The front has ivy growing down the slope to the sidewalk. The only grass like plants are the daylillies that grow between the back fence and garage path and a bit of ground cover around the dogwood tree. After blooming, we let daylillies die back naturally- so perhaps they are what is referred to in the review.
