About the property

Large home on the water. Very spacious and has beautiful sunsets!

Hello and thank you for viewing our summer home! This home is owned by my grandfather (Ray) and is managed by me (Diana).

Whether you stay at our home or not, you should Like/Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram! I post upcoming events, concerts, and festivals in the New Orleans area. I also post pictures and information regarding the lake house itself.

Here's a video tour of the home:

There's always a reason to party in New Orleans; be it Mardi Gras, St. Patrick's Day, Christmas, or just because it's Tuesday. Luckily for you (and for us!), our summer home is only a quick 30 minute drive to the Big Easy!

The house:

-Our home is located between Lake Pontchartrain and Lake Borgne on the Chef Menteur waterway.

-This is salt water with dolphins swimming right by the dock!

-It is a 2-story raised home with 3,600 square feet of living area and a great view of the water.

-We have wood floors, stainless steel appliances, washer and dryer and so much space. The floor plan on the first level is open to the kitchen, dining, and living area.

-There are 5 bedrooms and 5 1/2 bathrooms!

*There are 3 bedrooms on the first level and each has its own full-size bathroom.

*On the second level, there are two bedrooms with a shared bathroom. We also have two full beds on the loft.

*All bedrooms have cable TV.

-There is a dining table that seats up to 10 people.

-We have a large kitchen island with 3 stools: perfect for breakfast or extra seating during meals.

- Our card/game table has 8 seats and has a covering if you need more space for dining.

- The home has a foosball table, card and board games.

-The entire back wall of the living room is windowed, so you can see the dock and water while watching TV (cable in living room, too).

-The back porch is 440 square feet and has 2 swings as well as multiple chairs.

*It's my favorite spot to watch fish jump, hear the ducks quack, and catch a beautiful sunset. You can also watch the shrimp and crab boats pass, and watch your friends & family on the dock.

-The lower level (covered garage area) is the perfect area to boil your seafood or use the stainless steel propane grill. YOU WILL NEED TO PROVIDE YOUR OWN PROPANE TANK. We provide the propane burner, boiling pot and cooking utensils for boiling or frying your seafood! There are plenty of lights in this 2,000 square feet-covered area! There is a half bath located in this garage area.

-We take a lot of pride in making our home your home! We provide the linens, bath towels, shampoo and conditioner, toilet paper, paper towels, and so much more!

-We decorate for all major holidays, but we can also decorate for your special event! Be it a surprise wedding engagement, birthday, family reunion, etc.! Just let me know when booking!

Our own private dock:

-There's room for sun bathing, fishing, crabbing, and a swing if you want to just watch the water (or sit and fish).

-The fishing is great, especially from August to November. **You will need to bring your own fishing gear, or you can hire a fishing guide/charter who has his own gear.

-You will catch red fish, trout, flounder, drums, catfish, and many other kinds of fish!

-There are 4 sinks with running water located on the dock to clean your hands or clean your catch!

-Crab traps provided!

-There are plenty of lights on the dock. You can fish all night!

*The lights shine right on the water to attract bait fish, so night fishing is really great!

-There are two boat slips, so bring your boat and jet skis!

- The dock also has a jumping platform that the kids and adults really enjoy!

-We recommend and provide life jackets for all swimming activities. Please check with us to see if we have the size and number of jackets you may need.

-If you want to bring your boat and/or jet skis, there are two boat launches within a mile.

-We have two slips for your private use.

About Diana Ullo

My name is Diana M. Ullo and I am the manager of renting out this beautiful home! I was born and raised in the suburbs outside of New Orleans. I love this city so much that I attended both high school and college here and I now work in the French Quarter!

My grandfather, Raymond, who was blessed with a large family, built this home so that it could accommodate our whole family. It's like a second home to me, and I know it will be a second home to you, as well!

Diana Ullo purchased this house in 2003

Why Diana Ullo chose New Orleans

This location was ideal to my family for many reasons. It's close to the Mississippi gulf coast if you want to go to the beach, it's close to New Orleans if you're interested in the culture and/or nightlife, the fishing is great, and the area is so quiet and peaceful.

What makes this house unique

Want a care free vacation? That's what I will provide for you! The only things you should have to worry about are bringing your luggage, bringing a propane tank if you want to grill on our grill, and buying groceries. I provide you with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, pots, pans, spices, linens, bath towels, the list goes on!

On an unrelated note (but also an amazing benefit) previous guests have reported catching a 24 inch red fish right off of the dock! It is truly a fisherman's paradise.

loved this home

  • 5 of 5

12 family members came together for the Rock and Roll marathon in New Orleans.

We had a BLAST. Everyone enjoyed fishing off the beautiful dock in the back yard. Breathtaking sun rises. Loved the balconies. The home had everything you could think. And the owner was awesome!!!!! We will be back. The place is bigger than it looks in the pictures. A weekend full of wonderful memories.

The house is lovely and well suited for a family gathering. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful and there is easy access to New Orleans if you have a car. Would love to stay there again.

Sharing America with our Exchange Students

  • 5 of 5

This home was an ideal place for us to rest, eat, and relax after spending the day in New Orleans. Our group consisted of 14, (7 international teenage girls) and the home was perfect for our group. The kitchen allowed us to prepare meals and for all of us to eat together and share our experiences. The drive in to downtown was not bad, just had to plan it into our schedule.

This is the place to be!!!!

  • 4 of 5

My family and I had an absolute ball at the Lake House this past weekend celebrating my 50th birthday!!! The house is so nice. The bedrooms were big and the great room is awesome!! Getting an uber was a bit of a challenge. But overall it was great. My cousins are already interested in renting it again. Thanks Diana!!!

Owner's Response: So glad y'all had a good time. :) Sorry about having trouble getting an Uber, though. Being on the lake away from the city has its pros and cons. ;)

Review of Majestic Lake House

  • 4 of 5

Overall the stay was satisfactory. However, I have listed some items below for improvement.

1. The gas stove/oven works OK, but the burners on top will not light without using a match. Could be a potentially hazardous situation. Was able to work around for cooking.

2. Many light bulbs in the house were burned out and no spares were available.

3. Some TLC is required to fix many of the minor issues such as rotten thresholds, pictures falling off their brackets and the general appearance of this great house.

4. Service the boat lift as this is always used during our stays.

Will stay there again but hope some investment is made in the items above.

Owner's Response: Hi Jim, Thank you for your input. We actually changed the burnt light bulbs a few days ago--sorry they were out during your stay. Our maintenance man just had shoulder surgery, but I will make sure that everything you mentioned is taken care of as soon as possible. In addition to this, we are making many updates to the home within the next few months. Some new furniture, new pots, pans, and bake ware, have all been ordered (pictures will be posted on social media when they come in. Search TheMajestic504). And in the spring we are landscaping the front of the home. Thank you for being a repeat guest and we hope to hear from you soon.

Wonderful view and short distance to New Orleans

  • 5 of 5

There were 6 adults for this trip and we has PLENTY of room for everyone. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies (pots, dishes and pantry items). Walmart not to far away for other desired products for the house. It was clean and decor was good. The view of the lake is beautiful. We went swimming and jumped off the deck and had a blast - long time since we did that. New Orleans is about a 30 minute drive, we did not take the GPS recommendations as it took the long way on the freeway the entire route, there is a short cut and takes about 12 minutes less. Several days were spent in New Orleans sightseeing and shopping and a burlesque show, after all we were there during burlesque week. We took a drive to Biloxi MS one day and bought some raw shrimp for our own jambalaya.

Diana was very easy to work with for the reservations and quickly responded to our text while at the house. We called her one day because the water shut off, but there was maintenance being performed and they shut it off overnight and a couple hours into the morning. Overall we had a fantastic, fun trip. Definitely worth the drive to and from the city as the place was perfect, clean and away from the it all.
