My family and I had a wonderful stay. This cabin has a rustic feel, but has all the amenities you need to make life a little easier and more enjoyable. We especially loved the fire pit by the creek and the gas log fireplace in the house. We stayed warm no matter where we were! The owners were very responsive and answered all of our questions promptly. Overall, I would definitely say that we had a wonderful stay and can't wait to return in the near future!
Well appointed and very comfortable cabin. Close to the Virginia Creeper trail and the Appalachian trail. The weather was too cold to explore the Creeper trail and to take advantage of the fire pit, but we thoroughly enjoyed the fireplace. The weather warmed up a bit on our last day and we were able to get in a great hike on the Appalachian trail. We had the great pleasure to see five deer come onto the property to graze. The owners were very friendly and easy to work with. We look forward to returning in warmer weather.
My family (my husband, our 4 yr old, and I) stayed for 5 nights in October. The cabin was very clean and cozy. The location was beautiful. The colors the last full week of October were AMAZING. The near by state park was also beautiful with great hikes. I would definitely recommend and would love to stay again!
My wife and I, along with another couple shared this cozy, clean cabin for four days in order to hike the area, and ride the creeper trail. The cabin was delightful with unbelievably comfortable bedding, and rural charm. The fire pit area along side the babbling stream was a relaxing spot to sip cocktails, and enjoy a night fire. Plenty of fire wood was provided by our hosts. After a long day of activity, laying in one of those beds with the sound of the water in the stream outside, made for a peaceful, restful night of sleep. The owners were most hospitable, and friendly. To rent a home and find a good clean outdoor grill is always a plus. We hope to return to this cabin in the future, and I could not recommend it enough to others thinking of taking in the nature, trails, and forests. Thank you to the owners for sharing your home with us.
We just returned from the most relaxing and energizing stay at the Cozy Cabin. We cannot say enough about every aspect of this home. The beds were great, the 2 porches we're inviting, and the fire pit made every night perfect until the end. What a gem in the woods, very close to everything we wanted to do, hiking the state park to the most beautiful waterfall and riding the creeper trail twice. Thank you Brad and Jackie who was so sweet to drop off some green tea for our best friends that stayed with us there. A ++++++++
We rent from VRBO anytime we vacation within driving distance of our home. We'd read about the Virginia Creeper Trail and decided we wanted to try it. We rented this cabin based upon the comments about it's proximity to the trail. Our GPS lead us right to the address, yet we felt we had the mountain to ourselves. The interior of the cabin is just as you see in the photos. But, they are the only VRBO owners to provide everything except the food, including: toilet paper, paper towels, coffee beans, coffee grinder, liquid soap, dishwashing detergent--and even a footstool in the kitchen for shorties like me who need to reach something on the second shelf of the cabinets! We loved sitting in front of the fireplace watching TV. The towels and washcloths were the plushest in any cabin I ever rented. The beds were extremely comfortable. The kitchen ware was nice; In some places we've rented the cookware was all beat up. On our first evening, 3 deer nibbled on grass in the front. The mountain stream was peaceful and relaxing. It was pretty cold and windy when we were there, or else we would have spent our evenings in front of the fire pit, listening to the mountain stream. Finally, the people in this area were some of the friendliest folks I have ever met! We want to come back next summer and do the trail again, and we hope to stay here.
Creeper Trail biking 34 mile bike trail, 17 miles down hill, with shuttle service back to the top. Whitetop Laurel trout fishing some of the best trout fishing in all of the Eastern US. A.T. trail and many other trail heads in the area to hike. Some of the best hunting you can ever find. Grayson Highlands state park and Mount Rogers the highest point in Virginia, with the wild ponies.
