About Olga

Graduated from University of Western Ontario-Huron College and did Masters degree at University of Toronto. Travelled extensively and lived in many countries while husband worked for UN. Decided to buy in Trencianske Teplice where many happy holidays were spent during my childhood. We renovated a villa that was destined for demolishing and love the wonderful location the very spacious high-ceiling rooms and its beautiful large garden.

Olga purchased this villa in 2000

The villa is truly spectacular, and ideal for honeymooners -- both grand and intimate. We had the time of our lives in Holiday Villa -- barbequed and drank medovka vino in the beautiful garden and hiked the paths -- which looked formidable! There is so much to see and do here that it's hard to plan! It is a great base for exploring the Vah, the Tatras, the quaint villages and the castles etc Jack and Luba Mitchell - (June 22 - 29)

Loved this place!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful vacation in this beautiful villa, close to all the lovely town has to offer. After a day at one of the many affordable local spas, we would relax in the large garden overlooking the mountains. The accommodation was very clean, comfortable and spacious. The large living room/dining room was very nicely decorated and met our needs perfectly. The staff and owner were courteous and making the arrangements was hassle-free. I highly recommend a stay here!

Nice Old villa full of insects and spiders!!

  • 1 of 5

I booked this villa and the sister villa which share a nice garden for 27 days. I ended my the rent after a week when I was seccessful to find a subsitute that was more expensive but much cleaner. I arrived to this villa with a promise to be clean, it was not. Dust was there, it did not seem to be occupied recently. More importantly for me especially I was travelling with kids is the insects, every where. Spiders, in particular, have made this villa a home, no exageraations that I found tens of webs. My family and I spend the first day cleaning. Although we were able to clean the dust, but not the insects. Spiders were running over the beds. We found worms crawling over one bed and we decided that's it and forced ourselves outside the "villas". The villas are located in a nice area, Tesco is 5 minutes walk. The villas were build in 1912, nothing restored as they claim. It is actually one villas, that share one entrance but then divided. There is a short walk to a lovely local park. Restaurents and health spas are nearby , around 5-10 minutes. Each villas has three rooms, one of the room is upstairs, but the stairs are steep, and you cannot let the kids to use. One of the rooms was actually a bathroom, with a sink and tub, and the smell of the bathroom is there in the room. There were washing machine and good kitchen and sitting area. The garden was very nice and you are provided with grill utilities for free. The Owners , Olga, is not in country unfortunately and you deal with her assistant, Lea, who do not speak English what so ever, but have a friend who does. Lea jumb in the house without your notice by the way. For us we asked Olga to prevent this, but she continue to do so. When we left after 8 days, less than half the rent amount were returned with lots of claims.

Owner's Response: This is a very surprising and very disappointing review after the kindness and understanding we showed these guests - a great contrast to the kind 5 star reviews from all our previous guests! To begin with, when we received their booking request , they informed us that they would be a party of 6 and they were charged accordingly. When they arrived …they were a total of 12 guests ....and they ignored all attempts by our representative Lea to collect the extra charges! 1."I arrived to this villa with a promise to be clean, it was not . " In spite of the time spent cleaning the villas before their arrival, we offered to “re-clean” the villas .This offer was rejected and instead, they emailed a collection of humorous photos to confirm their complaints. One photo had a tiny spider hiding behind a headboard, another the hint of a web - and the most offensive one had 3 flies lying dead on the parquet. I politely answered their email, stating that their 4 small children running around our large garden could facilitate insects finding their way into the house.. 2. "The stairs are steep and you cannot let the kids to use" There was never any indication that children were in the party, so we didn't feel the need to mention the stairs. 3. "Lea jumb in the house without your notice by the way". This statement is untrue. The only time she "jumped " into the house was with a plumber they had reserved, to instal a hose for their prayer-time ablutions. Only when there was no answer to their loud knocking, did she let herself and the plumber into the villa. 4."When we left after 8 days. less than half the rent amount were returned with lots of claims." -They left us with 2 empty villas during the most popular time -and a primary source of our annual income - July 27 to August 15 - We had turned away many potential rentals. - Their 34 emails entailed some administrative costs. -The generous discount for a lengthy stay was revoked. - They were charged the correct amount for 12 guests - not 6. - They removed pictures, statues , moved furniture, left rubbish everywhere etc. Two people took an entire day to clean the villas. We believe it is unfair -and even malicious, to produce such a scathing review and low rating after receiving a refund of three thousand euros - contrary to contract terms - and when their major complaints could have been easily and speedily resolved by our very efficient cleaning crew and a few sprays of insect repellent!

lovely gem in beautiful spa town

  • 5 of 5

We've just returned from our 3rd visit to this beautiful property in the heart of Trencianske Teplice.

Having stayed in Villa 1 and Villa 2 on different occasions in the past, we found them very comfortable, bright and very well equipped. The kitchen, the bedrooms, bathrooms and hallways are large, tastefully decorated, with lots of seating - a true home away from home! There are bathtubs as well as showers in both villas and there is always plenty of hot water. The beds were very comfortable, making for a good night's rest. We enjoyed spending time in the huge, beautifully maintained garden.

We also liked the fact that the villas are a short walking distance from the centre of this charming spa town, yet are quiet and private and especially quiet at night.

Whenever visiting Trencianske Teplice we always take full advantage of the spa's outstanding thermal healing waters. On different occasions we have tried a variety of wellness and medical treatments, available from the spa's booking office a ten minute walk from the villa.

This place offers a unique combination of relaxation, spa experience, culture and history - all in a beautiful, natural setting ready to be explored. Highly recommended!

A piece of paradise in Slovakia

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here (in Villa 1) on our honeymoon, and after a long couple of weeks touring around Europe it was so wonderful to reach the villa and spend 10 days in Trencianske Teplice by ourselves. This building is amazing. It has everything, it could sleep an army, but we didn't feel lost in it just on our own either. Very relaxing atmosphere, both in the town and in the villa itself, with its private (and beautiful) garden. It's literally steps from the heart of TT, also right by where the bus and the train from Trencin let you off.

Trencianske Teplice itself is an amazingly well kept secret -- you almost don't want to tell people about it! The hiking is terrific, the architecture is great (restored 19th C spa town), the restaurants are outstanding and just ridiculously affordable (we liked Dedinka and the Roman Legion place best for dinner, the Hotel Slovakia for lunch). The Hamam is really marvelous, a very unusual and historic experience; the hotel spas were also quality. We were there (unexpectedly!) during the Slovak Film Festival, lots of seeing and being seen, get to stroll arm and arm and let people think you're movie stars! Probably our favourite thing was just walking up and down the promenade, stopping for coffee or cakes or ice cream, and just taking life at the pace it's meant to be lived. Then to come back at the end of a hard day of relaxing to the Villa here was ideal: a private resort in the middle of the public resort.

We'd love to come back to the double villa here with our extended families for an extended stay! We just need to organize it! Thanks for a wonderful honeymoon experience.

Our best family vacation ever!

  • 5 of 5

Listing and pictures could not begin to describe what a lovely place this villa is! Well maintained and very cozy tucked in a quaint small town with everything we needed. Property manager was extremely friendly and helpful, and owner gave us a great amount of valuable information. Our favorite part was the cost, as the villa, spa treatments, restaurants, and pools were amazingly inexpensive. Loved the local recommended restaurants and hiking, all just a quick walk from our front door. Our children spent hours playing in the huge backyard and loved the pool at the Hotel Flora. Beautiful park with playground, mini golf, and easily accessible local villages like Trencin were our highlights. Would love to go back again, highly recommend!

The house is beautifully located in a spa town with facilities for thalassotherapy treatments, a ski area, riding stables within a five minute drive, an endless possibility for walks and excursions, a newly constructed public thermal outdoor pool just a few minutes stroll from the house, a very beautiful old park with a swan lake, tennis courts and minigolf, a concert hall with top artist appearances and a cinema showing recent original version English/American films...all within a five minute stroll from the house. Slovakia is one of the undiscovered treasures of Eastern Europe ...and Trencianske Teplice - a gem nestled in a little valley surrounded by forests, lakes and rolling hills - is one of the very pleasant discoveries one can make by venturing off the beaten tourist paths.
