Why Ashley Gebhard Rental Agent chose Cherry Log
We visited Blue Ridge in December 2015 and were drawn to the serenity and tranquility of the mountains and the outdoor activities. The area is a dream come true for those seeking outdoor adventures or to leave the fast paced life we've become accustomed to. This is a location where you can enjoy the little moments in life while creating a lifetime of memories!

Nice vacation cabin, would happily stay again
This cabin has just about everything you would want in a mountain cabin location, very well equipped. Located near Blue Ridge, very nice. I'd happily bring my family back again.
We did experienced a few issues and notice some items that should be fixed.
-The alarm was still on when we arrived so we had to message the property manager, who responded right away, and waited approx 3-5 minutes to have the alarm turned off.
-The two ceiling beams in the living room/dining room were covered in dust and dead bugs/dust and should be addressed. The rest of the cabin was very nice clean.
-Only the T-Fal was a non-stick skillet. All the other skillets available were useless. Be aware and bring your own butter/cooking spray if you cook with more than one skillet while you're there.
-The kitchen trash can is short and does not have a lid. Small children can easily access the garbage. It doesn't fit in the cabinet beneath the sink. I would advise a smaller one that fits inside the sink cabinet or a larger one with a closable lid.
-The outside porch fan is not balanced and will produce a very annoying knocking sound when put to it's fastest setting. Other speed settings were quiet.
-The main level french doors had hand-written notes stating not to use them during our stay. The large windowed doors still allowed for a great view. Access to the main level deck was available through the side patio door, so the unusable doors weren't a major issue. They should however be made usable for future guests since the listing states nothing in the verbiage and the pictures depict normal doors, not windows with useless knobs.
-The master bathroom shower heads may need to be replaced due to poor pressure. While using both master bath shower heads at the same time (no other water faucets/showers in the cabin were in use at the time) the water pressure was not good. One shower head by itself may have been fine, but two together was disappointing. If you have two in one shower, they should work well together.
-The washing machine tray is missing its handle. The tray works, but some may have trouble with it/believe it is doesn't work at all. Also, the washing machine needs a new door gasket. The current one has considerable mold stains and odor.
All that was meant to be helpful and to better the property, not to complain. I'd want to know these things if it were my cabin. We very much enjoyed our time and would gladly come again in the future.
Great property, Very comfortable and easy to fine.
We loved it! The view was fantastic and everything in the house was very nice.
The ONLY thing that I have to say that is not 100% positive was the presence of so many lady bugs! I was told they might be there but honestly had no idea there would be that many. I didn’t like stepping on them and even had a few crawling on me when I was in bed. The house was extremely clean and while lady bugs are not indicative of dirt or food left out it was a little disconcerting to see so many.
Great stay in Cherry Log!
The property was great! Exactly as pictured. We enjoyed the outdoor fireplace and loved the game room downstairs. The only thing that was a bit annoying were the lady bugs, but we were warned before hand and honestly we’d rather have tons of lady bugs over any other insect. Other than that, the stay was great!!!
Beautiful Serene Cabin
My family and I enjoyed our stay at the beautiful Falling Rock cabin. It’s a lovely mountain top cabin in a quiet somewhat “off the grid” location in Cherry Log Georgia. It’s located far enough outside of the city to relax but close enough to Blue Ridge to experience some small town shopping, eating, and sight seeing. I highly recommend this cabin for anyone looking to getaway.
Perfect for the two of us
We enjoyed our stay at this property. For the two of us it was perfect and a quiet relaxing time which is what we needed. We used the fireplaces and with the provided wood we had plenty of fuel to burn when we were in the mood for a fire. The hot tub was perfect and quite large. Oh, and when we walked in the house the tree was perfect and the christmas music was playing. It was a perfect entrance for the holiday celebration. Just a few cautions.
It was raining during our stay and getting up the final section of the driveway was a problem upon arrival. Mostly due to our being unfamiliar with the steep curve near the end. In the SUV we made it after a couple of attempts however if I had been in my M4 we would not have made it up when wet. When dry this is not a problem. You are in the mountains so if you have never experienced steep roads just take your time and it will be fine.
Lady bugs liked this property. Did not bother us however if you are adverse to them this will not be fun at this time of year. They seek warmth during the winter months.
The winds can get rather high and we did not realize just how hard it can blow. So do not leave anything out that may blow away during the night.
The property is rather private however there is one home not seen in the pictures that can have a view to the lower section of the house to include the hot tub. It is not close to the location however they do have a direct line of sight.
We will leave this property as a favorite.
The location of Falling Rock Lodge is centrally located for all of your vacation needs. It is conveniently located within the Aska Adventure Area just off of Stanley Creek Road and provides easy access, including paved roads all the way to the cabin.
It can be reached by a short drive from the town of Blue Ridge down Aska Rd, which is one of the most scenic drives in the Blue Ridge area, or by Rock Creek and Stanley Creek Rd, which wind through a canopy of forest as it makes its way through the Rich Mountain Wildlife Preserve.
The Aska Adventure Area is known for its diversity in outdoor activities. Popular activities in the area are tubing, fishing, canoeing, hiking, zip lining, and riding the various mountain bike trails. Excellent hiking and trail heads are within close proximity, in fact a beautiful waterfall is easily accessible from the Stanley Creek Rd. trail head located less than one mile from the property!
Just a few minutes from the cabin is the Toccoa Riverside Restaurant. This local favorite is located right on the bank of the Toccoa River and boasts both an indoor and outdoor seating arrangement.
A short drive gets you to the eclectic City of Blue Ridge. The downtown area is known for it's great restaurants and quaint stores. You'll leave Blue Ridge with a memorable experience in a small town setting.
