The two bedroom apartment overlooks a garden and the studio has its own front garden complete with a bench to sit and watch the world go by.

An added bonus!: The townhouse is privately owned by an ex-pat from England. Emma came to New York to live and work, but spent several years seeing the city from a tourist perspective as she explored a new city. If you stay with us at Jefferson Apartments, Emma's experience will be an added bonus - it's like having a concierge on the premises! Emma is on hand to help with directions, restaurant recommendations and off-the-beaten-path tourist tips!

I moved from London to LA in 1994 and then to New York in 1995 and I've been here ever since! I lived for 8 years in Greenwich Village in Manhattan and then moved to Brooklyn in 2002.
Emma James purchased this apartment in 2005
We bought the property because it had a garden and there was more space for our family. Once we moved in, we discovered that we live on the friendliest block in Brooklyn!
Many people are new to renting a vacation rental as opposed to a hotel. You can rest assured that you will enjoy the experience! I live with my family on the premises and I am here to make sure you have a wonderful stay. I can help with directions and recommendations and any questions you might have whilst you are here. Please email me with any questions and you will see that I respond very quickly!
We have just stayed in the studio apartment this september and found it very comfortable with everything we needed including a coffee maker, fridge, microwave and iron. It is in a perfect location for Manhattan which we found it very easy to travel to and from everyday, with 2 subway stations nearby. Emma and James were extremely helpful before and during our stay, willing to answer any questions that we had. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this place to anyone wanting a great quality holiday at a budget price in NYC.
Me and my partner stayed in the studio apartment for a week and we loved every second! It has everything you could need for a busy holiday like New York, a lovely bathroom, a handy kitchenette, a super comfy big bed and a television. The journey to Manhattan took about 20 minutes and was very easy! We much preferred coming home to a more quiter area every day rather than staying in the busy city all day and all night, being not very big drinkers it was nice to come back in the evening and have some down time. The local area is full of handy shops and places to eat and the subway is a two minute walk just around the corner. The owner Emma was extremely accommodating and gave us tons of information like directions to places and great tourist spots thank you Emma!
When we return to New York this will definitely be where we want to stay in the future.
Great host, prompt with replying to emails. Very helpful.
Apartment was clean and comfortable. Well set up with basic kitchen (make breakfast or a drink/ serve up take out - perfect for us). Bed and TV were well used after a long day exploring the city.
Subway stop, grocery store, laundry, coffee, take out and good restaurants all within 1-2 blocks. Would have liked a little folder of take out menus/ list of good restaurants in the area. Did manage to find a gorgeous little Mexican restaurant 3 mins walk away. Lovely neighborhood with friendly people.
We arrived late at night and left early in the morning. Emma was more than accommodating and made it very easy. I have visited NYC before this trip and found this a much better experience than staying in a hotel. Would recommend to anyone visiting New York.
We stayed in Emma's studio apartment for a week over the New Year period. The apartment is well equipped for 2 people. We had all the facilities to make our breakfast before heading off exploring each day. And when we came home in the evening to the lovely warm studio (considering it was -11 outside) we could relax with a glass of wine watching a movie on the TV before a good night's sleep in the very comfy bed. Facilities around the apartment were very good. It's only a 5 minute walk around the corner and you're at the Subway entrance that runs direct into Manhatten every 10 minutes and only costs 2.75 $ each journey which is amazing considering what we pay for transport in the UK. We found a lovely Organic Juice Bar on our way to the Subway and enjoyed trying something new each morning. We also found a great bar serving all different kinds of beers and ciders and a restaurant within 2 blocks of the apartment which was so good we ate there twice! I must add the people of Brooklyn are so friendly. On New Years Eve we walked to Grand Army Plaza at Prospect Park in Brooklyn where they had laid on Fireworks at Midnight as well as serving Hot Chocolate and there was a band playing all for free. Walking home everyone constantly wishing us Happy New Year. We felt very safe indeed. Overall I would give Emmas's studio flat 5 out of 5 stars for giving us the opportunity to live like a New Yorker for a week which I much prefer than staying in a characterless hotel room for a week. Thanks Emma for your hospitality including arranging our cab back to the airport on our last day.
The apartment is small, but comfortable enough for two people. Has everything necessary for a vacation in New York. Emma (the owner) was very nice and attentive. There are a few grocery stores very close by and the subway station is just 2 blocks away and a subway ride to mid manhattan takes about 20 min.
When we arrived, everything had just been thoroughly cleaned and we were allowed a late checkout the day of our flight. I'd really recommend this place for the price/quality relation.
