The best thing about Villa Boron is there are four very distinctive outside areas each with its own ambience so you can choose to socialise or enjoy some peace and privacy!
The largest terrace has a barbeque and lovely dining table that has a sun canopy if needed in the day and we think it's gorgeous at night by candle light. It also has sunloungers and cosy sofa area and patio doors leading into the upstairs bedroom plus the main door to the villa hallway. There is also a smaller private reading/ sunbathing terrace with two sunloungers. There is a balcony leading off the lounge area with another dining area. The cherry on top is the terrace at the front of the villa with a jacuzzi with seaviews!
There is private gated parking at the front of the villa (with electronic gates) that is most convenient for easy access.
There are five bedrooms in Villa Boron all with split unit air conditioning/ heating, all have Smart TV's and high quality mattresses to ensure a good night sleep. Each bedroom has its own allocated bathroom with toilet and plenty of storage space.
Two bedrooms are on the upper level. The first has a kingsize bed and ensuite shower room with double vanity sink and toilet. There is a patio door leading out onto a large terrace with relaxing lounge furniture. The second bedroom has a kingsize bed and a glass door leading out onto a private terrace with two rattan sunloungers. There is a stunning walk in shower room with sink and toilet on the ground floor that is allocated for this bedroom.
On the groundfloor the large master suite has a big round sunken bath, power shower and patio doors leading outside. The second bedroom has a kingsize bed and the third bedroom next door has two double beds. Both these bedrooms have patio doors leading out to a relaxing area with comfy chairs and sunlounger.
Four bedrooms have there own en-suite bathroom with a power shower, vanity unit and toilet. The master suite has also has a sunken marble bath. There is fifth walk in shower room with sink and toilet situated downstairs.
We think the best thing about Villa Boron is that there is lots of privacy with many terraces leading off each bedroom and everyone has there own bathroom. But when it comes to getting together as a group, the open plan living space is brilliant for socialising.
Balcony which has a dining table for six, ceiling fan and spectacular sea views of the Mediterranean sea. This is lovely chill out area in the morning at breakfast or for aperitivo time!
The stunning kitchen provides a really sociable atmosphere for group catering. It has an island breakfast bar and all mod cons including air conditioning, a four ring electric hob, combination oven/grill, dishwasher, American style fridge, microwave, TV, kettle, toaster, and cafetière. A separate utility area houses the washing machine and tumble dryer. There is a comfy lounge terrace leading off from the kitchen.
You are spoilt for choice where to dine. Choose from the inside dining table shipped in from an Irish castle!, the large balcony with sea views or the large barbecue terrace area which is gorgeous lit up at night!
Mont Boron is the Beverley Hills of Nice with celebrities such as Elton John and Sean Connery choosing to live here. Villa Boron is located on Boulevard Carnot, a 20 min walk downhill from the cafes and restaurants at the Port of Nice. Rue Bonaparte, the trendiest street in Nice is located at the Port and has some of the best restaurants in the area. The area is quiet and peaceful yet there is a large supermarket at the crossroads only 2 minutes walk away where you can find a diverse array of food and drink. The Old Town of Nice and the city centre are approx. 30 mins walk away. There are steps, which lead from Blvd Carnot down to the rocks at sea level where you can sunbathe and swim. Coco beach at the port is approx. a 10 min walk away down hill. You can also walk or bike to Villefranche - allow 10 mins around the corner by bicycle or 20 minute walk. You can hire bicycles from YNA. (Please note these timings are an approximation and does not take into consideration walking difficulties or walking with small children)
Airport transfer is approx. 20 mins in a taxi. The meeting point is at Villa Boron. There is a regular 100 bus service which travels along Blvd Carnot going to the shops, bars and restaurants of Vieux Nice (5 mins) one way and the sandy beach and charming village of Villefranche (5 mins) the other way. The beach at Villefranche is more suitable for children. The bus service stops at 9pm. Gare Routière can be reached by hopping on the number 100 bus outside your villa. We stayed for a beautiful 2 weeks in september with my husbands extended family. The villa really lived up to our expectations and made our holiday very special. I had initially seen mixed reviews on various websites but I contacted Your Nice Apartment, the agency who manage the property and really grilled them about every aspect of this villa. To be fair they put up with my never ending questions and answered each one, the girl i spoke to was very friendly and reassuring explaining the villa has recently been renovated and to our surprise and great pleasure now has a jacuzzi installed on one of the terraces over looking the sea - this was fabulous watching the sun set with a glas of champagne! After being satisfied with the answers to all my questions we booked and were met with Delia the manager, who is extremely pleasant, informative and helpful - my mother in law is an especially nervous lady and even she felt thoroughly looked after, well done Delia! The villa itself was as good if not better than the photos, there is enough space for everyone to relax and on a very hot day the indoor pool is a lovely refreshing treat. The location couldn't be better with a large supermarket only 5 minutes walk. Ville Franche is a 10 min bus journey and we walked down to the Port of Nice is approx 10 mins to sample some of the fine restaurants there. We are already planning our return stay in 2017 and that cannot come quickly enough! Thanks you.
The property was clean on arrival and the agent gave us a brief tour explaining various features of this well located villa. It had good air con, plenty of space and a lovely outlook but several issues spoiled our enjoyment.
The agent had warned us that we would be billed if we placed glass in the recycling bin but we later found that our bin was already full of glass.
We were also very disappointed to find that although the villa had been advertised as having English sky channels there was in fact no working TV on the premises. This was a great disappointment in a week where Wimbledon and the test match cricket was taking place.
The wave function in the pool did not work either and running the jacuzzi at the same time as the laundry facilities caused the power supply in the house to fail.
Lastly but certainly not least was our encounter with a rat which entered the villa on a nightly basis via the shower drain on the ground floor. Finally on the Friday we succeeded in cornering it and drowning it in the toilet The agent attended afterward and cleaned the extensive droppings but it was a horrific experience which resulted in no one being able to sleep on the ground floor on our last night.
The location is perfect for exploring the area by bus, with the bus stop 50 metres away, serving both the 100 bus taking you as far as Italy for 1.5 euros and the local bus to St Jean Cap Ferrat and central Nice. The walk down to Nice port is rewarded by superb views over the city, and a walk up to Fort Alban on top of Mont Boron gives panoramic views in all directions.
The supermarket is just 100 metres away, and will provide just about everything you need, including food for the barbecue.
The villa has superb living and outdoor space, with a very well equipped living/ dining / kitchen, an excellent barbeque area and terraces for every occasion. The views of the Med are wonderful.
Just a few cautionary notes- 2 bedrooms share a bathroom, which is actually the ensuite of one of the bedrooms, (could be inconvenient), and there is no separate w.c.
As mentioned in previous reviews, some of the showers don't operate fully and the shower doors are loose, so you risk flooding the bathroom if you're not careful! Possibly for this reason, the downstairs bedrooms smell strongly of damp. Property needs some tlc in this respect. 4 star could easily become 5 star.
Despite this and the fact we were flooded on the first night by an incredible storm, which also blew the electrics, and we had no water the following day (all sorted very swiftly by the lovely Delia, our property manager), we had a fantastic family holiday and would recommend Villa Boron for those like us who don't worry too much about a few problems with the bedrooms and showers by the time they eventually retire for the night.
This villa is one o the nicest places I've ever been to. It boasts amazing views from all terraces and the from the spacious BBQ area. Internally the villa caters for every need. We traveled with children an it was ideal as the villa was fully equipped. The large kitchen/ dining area was perfect for nights in. Extremely comfortable. Facilities top class and the location is amazing!!
This is the second time I have stayed at this Villa Boron. First stay was for my fathers 60th celebrations and just recently it was a friends holiday.
It is perfect for family/friends get togethers. It has a large living/kitchen/dining area for entertaining and the view from this area is just superb.
Iv great memories eating my breakfast each morning on the balcony looking out to sea!! The view is just amazing. I felt so lucky to be here and experience such a treat!!
The BBQ area hosts fab dinner parties, with sea view and it's surrounded by mature trees/ floral backdrop it is definitely like something in Hollywood. Fit for any celeb dinner party I reckon!
The thing I like about this villa, it's so spacious and lots of wee balcony areas, coves and verandas, even though I was there with a group of 12 it didn't feel over crowded, there's lots wee quaint areas to have 'your own' quiet time and privacy.
It's in prime location, quiet at night, yet 5 mins in taxi to the hustle and bustle in Nice. We walked into Nice a few times 20 mins or so and it's such gorg scenery along the way.
The bus stop is right outside the villa, it's service on time And buggy friendly for kids aswell. We used this service daily and took day trips to Monte Carlo, Eze, and Ville France (nice restaurants, beach and Monday markets) visit here.
The villa itself is kitted out to a five star standard/quality, the kitchen is fantastic there's nothing it doesn't have. It was cleaned to perfection. The flooring, lighting, kitchen, bathrooms are all high spec. The sofas and beds are so comfy. Bonus- has sky Tv and free Wifi.
You would know the owner has taste and is particular about the quality and standard he wants to provide holiday makers alike.
I can't recommend this villa enough. I love it, we had such a beautiful, adventurous, fun filled, sightseeing, amazing holiday, we thoroughly enjoyed staying at this 5 star home from home villa. I hope I'm able to revisit some time in the near future. This is how a holiday should be spent!!!! Book it now, you will not be disappointed.
Thanks for taking time to read my review.
We loved our time in Nice and what made it so enjoyable and memorable was our stay in this villa - it was like home from home, so spacious and child friendly. A beautiful location looking out at a spectacular view with just a short walk down into ville de France and on down into Nice to walk along the promenade. The owner was very helpful and answered any queries we had on the property. Within walking distance, you can find many beautiful restaurants and lively bars. We would definitely go back to this villa at a later date and would highly recommend it.
