The Rumbling Bald on Lake Lure amenities are yours to enjoy while being guests in a secluded, privately-owned townhouse which has winter views of Apple Valley Course #2 hole. Winters are mild enough for year round hiking, fishing, golfing and other outdoor activities. There are many trout streams in the area and Lake Lure is stocked.
If you want to try out several different ski areas, we are centrally located with in a two hour drive to most of the ski resorts in western North Carolina. The resort has poontoon boats, canoes and kayaks for rent and a putt-putt course and lazy river.
Our home offers two bedrooms, two full baths, jacuzzi in master bath. Master bedroom has a queen pillow top bed, 2nd bedroom has two full pillow top beds. Livingroom has a full sleeper sofa. 3 TV's, DVD/VCR player with select movies. You'll find a fully stocked kitchen with water filtration system and microwave, refrigerator with ice maker, stove, coffemaker, blender and diswasher. You can also move the cooking outdoors to the charcoal BBQ grill. WiFi is available at Rumbling Bald Resort and IN OUR HOME.
Our home is very relaxing, private and peaceful. The Lake Lure Golf & Beach Resort is in the natural setting of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, with a private beach on Lake Lure, exercise room, sauna/whirlpool, one indoor and two outdoor swimming pools and two golf courses. All are located within a mile of the home.
The area offers plenty of activites including boating (you can bring your own or rent), swimming, tubing, golfing, fishing, tennis, sightseeing, horseback riding and shopping. Great dining options at several restaurants on site (Azaleas, Lakeview, Legends) and many others in the area and on the lake.
Day trips to many of the area's attractions: Chimney Rock Park, quaint shops @ Chimney Rock and Black Mountain, trout fishing, Cherokee, Mt. Mitchell, waterfalls, Flat Rock Playhouse, western North Carolina ski resorts and Asheville's magnificent Biltmore Estate are a short drive.
Hi,we're the Hovorkas.
Tom, Becky and Clay
We live in Kernersville, North Carolina but originally from West Virgina.
Welcome to our home away from home. We enjoy getting away with the kids and grandkids or just the two of us.
Becky Hovorka purchased this townhome in 2004
We first visited Lake Lure in 2002 and loved the area and kept going back. Finally, we decided to invest in a place of our own. We chose the Bent Crent developement because it is outside of the gated portion of our resort Rumbling Bald. It is more private and peaceful but within a half mile of the gate so we can easily go to the pools, beach, marina and the other amenities anytime we choose. The beauty of the mountains, lake and rivers are just so rejuvenating. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.
Our favorite thing is relaxing on the deck because it is very private and you feel like you are in a tree house. We also enjoy hanging out at the lake and pools but a trip up to Chimney Rock is always a must to the river, the sound of the water rushing is invigerating. Our son enjoys the activities: Putt Putt, basketball, tennis, volleyball, bouce ball, and, of course, golf.
We stayed in Aug 2016. The bed was comfortable and the Jacuzzi was so relaxing in the evenings. The cabin was also very clean. We loved having the netflix available to watch. We went to the resort pool and loved the lazy river and just hanging out by the pool. We also enjoyed cooking out on the grill. We did accidently leave our baby's play yard there and they deducted the money from our deposit(they made us aware before the fact) and sent it back to us. We were so relieved to be able to get it back! Our interactions with the owner when we needed assistance with something was wonderful. We would recommend this place.
We had a great time at Lake Lure staying at your condo. It was very clean and comfortable and Becky (owner) was very accommodating with suggestions of restaurants, things to do, and making sure we had all that we needed to make our stay pleasurable. We stopped at Sliding Rock (in Pisgah National Forest) on the way down to have fun and cool off . While in Lake Lure, we enjoyed amenities at Rumbling Bald Resort like swimming at beach area, basketball, and kayaking on the lake. Legends restaurant was good but did not get chance to eat at Lakeview restaurant. Other restaurants we visited--Larkins on the Lake (just OK), LaStrada (very good), and Medina's (at Chimney village--good). All in all--a good time! Thanks Becky!
We thoroughly enjoyed our first trip to lake lure! The townhouse was spotless and comfy. We will definitely rent here the next time. We went to the resort everyday and thoroughly enjoyed the pools and lazy river. We also made several trips to chimney rock and area. Maybe a 15 minute drive. We climbed almost 500 steps to the top and then came back down and enjoyed dinner at one of the restaurants (Riverwalk-I think it was) overlooking the Rocky Broad river. Actually we ate here another day also..Went to some of the cute little shops by the river. My son panned for gems at one of the place and was so excited over his finds! If it was raining we stayed inside and played one of their many board games until it passed.
We ate at Legends inside the resort twice and it was great.
We also took a boat tour of Lake Lure. I would recommend this as it was very relaxing and informative. Just had a great trip.
I would recommend this townhouse. I don't think you will find a cleaner nicer place than this.
Super clean, super spacious condo in Lake Lure. My little family with two kids (5yrs & 16months) had an amazing weekend in this Rumbling Bald Unit. Everything worked perfectly, we had a lot of room, and it was very clean. Will definitely stay again.
Explicitly taking time to write the review as the place is really good!
Location is good, in the beginning it felt weird with all uphill/downhill way but that's Lake Lure estate.
Well kept home and part of rambling bald resort. It's just 3 min away and we could use amenities. Home is very nice, books, games for all age groups. Grocery store is nearby.
If we go back, will definitely look forward to stay again in same place.
The townhouse was very nice and very clean. Everything worked fine and we had no issues. We were there for a golf tournament so we did not spend much time in the unit but the time we did spend was great. Beds were comfortable. My only suggestion for anyone coming to Lake Lure is to buy groceries before you get there. We didn't and the market was very pricey for the few items we needed to buy.
Amenities of Rumbling Bald Resort are available to guests, passes and parking hanger in your name will be provided at security gate to Rumbling Bald.
