Vintage Rental With A Modern Twist - A Joy To Hang Out In And Of Itself!
- english, Tagalog, some Spanish
I am a career corporate finance professional and a life-long Chicagoan and resident of the Lincoln Square neighborhood. My wife is an attorney and we have two lovely children, ages 16 and 8. We collect art and greatly enjoy world travel.
Virgil purchased this Apartment in 1910
Why Virgil chose Lincoln Square
This 1-BR rental unit is on the second floor of a beautiful brick two-flat and has an open balcony that's great to hang out at in the warmer months. The building is quintessential Chicago and conveniently located near transportation, a great park, shopping, fine restaurants, pubs, cafes, quaint little shops and the Old Town School of Music that has hosted acclaimed musicians from all over the world. The neighborhood has everything to offer for all ages and backgrounds - playground for kids, art fairs and festivals for the entire family, wine-tasting for oenophiles, spa for the ladies, sports bars, a big park to walk/jog in, and many more. Around the corner is Lutz Continental Cafe and Pastry, a Chicago institution that draws visitors from all over the city. The property is in a quiet, tree-lined block that is easy to get to and from many other points of interests in the city.
What makes this Apartment unique
This 1-BR unit has a quiet, cozy and modern/vintage vibe that's ideal for a couple on a romantic getaway or any traveler looking for a more relaxed alternative to hotel stays in a vibrant and safe city neighborhood. Great walking area, safe and convenient
Loved it-lots of personal touches, felt very comfortable staying here.
Great location and space
Great space that was very nicely appointed. Close to the Brown train to get downtown. Quiet and safe neighbourhood. Would stay again.
Comfortable and Convenient with Character
It was a great little home away from home for my wife and I. We appreciated the personalized decor, rooftop patio, and cozy kitchen with everything needed as we enjoy a few meals "in" when traveling. The short walk to the Brown Line to get downtown was through a nice neighborhood or even a park if you choose. Nice new Aldi grocery nearly nextdoor for inexpensive amenities and nice organic selection. If you have friends or family in Chicago you could easily host a handful over to the apartment as there is plenty of comfortable seating. We also enjoyed a few nearby restaurants all within a few minutes walk. The building is old so you have to be okay with what comes with that, but we were extremely comfortable coming, going, and just hanging out there. We went to the Lincoln Park Zoo, Art Institute, and saw Hamilton over three days and each time we went out we also looked forward to getting back to our temporary home and neighborhood with this stay.
Great host and great overall stay
Virgil was a great host, very responsive to text. Property is located in a great area convenient to transit. Will definitely recommend to others!
Great neighborhood, comfortable apartment
This is a really nice apartment at a great price. The balcony off the bedroom is a feature that is hard to find. Bed is comfy. This is an older building so there are some quirks as would be expected. Finding the right light switches is a bit of a challenge. The neighborhood is fantastic-they had a block party while we were there. Lot's of friendly young families having a great time with their kids and their neighbors.
We omly slept there
Great place. Lots of room. Granddaughter loved it - she slept over 1 night. Kitchen was nice although we did not use it.
This Property Is Located In The Lincoln Square Neighborhood Of Chicago, A Quaint Section Of The City's North Side That Was Mostly Settled By German Immigrants At The Turn Of The Century, But Has Since Evolved Into A True Melting Pot Of Cultures While Managing To Keep Its Old World Charm And Unique Character. Unlike Many Parts Of The City's North Side That Are Mostly Populated By Young And Single Residents, Lincoln Square Has Managed To Keep A Balanced Demographic That Makes The Neighborhood An Attractive Destination For Singles And Families Alike, And Anyone Else Looking For An Old Neighborhood Feel While Also Enjoying A Taste Of The City Life. The Property Itself Is Close To Public Transportation To Get To Downtown And Other Points Of Interests In The City. Street And Private Parking Being Somewhat Prohibitive, Taking The 20-Minute Train Ride To The Downtown Area Would Be Good Alternative To Driving.
Lincoln Square Has Everything To Offer For All Ages And Preferences - Playground For Kids, Art Fairs And Festivals For The Entire Family, Wine-tasting For Oenophiles, Fitness Training, Spa, Cooking Classes, Music Venues, Among Other Interests.
