Enjoy the beauty and privacy of your own shaded, tropical patio or walk one block to Kailua Beach Park with its lawns, trees, and three-mile, white-sand beach. It is an easy walk to Lanikai Beach which Conde Nast Magazine has called the number one beach in America.
We are tucked away on a private lane on the windward side of Oahu about 30 minutes from the Honolulu Airport. This newly renovated apartment is part of our home, but is completely private. It has a separate, gated entrance featuring a private patio with a table and four chairs. The patio is landscaped with the tropical plants; red ginger, heliconia and ti plants. There is only one off-street parking place for your rental car and there is rarely any additional parking on our narrow lane (so no traffic noise!)
This convenient, comfortable, one-bedroom apartment has wireless Internet access and an air conditioner in the bedroom. There is a king-size bed in the bedroom and a Television and DVD player in the living room. The small kitchenette does not have a built-in stove or oven but it does have a microwave oven, a hot plate, a refrigerator, a rice cooker as well as other appliances to prepare your own meals or you can enjoy Kailua's multitude of good restaurants. The bathroom has a shower, tile floor, a full length mirror and lots of towels. The Haven has its own washer and dryer so you can pack light for your visit to Oahu's best beach community.
We are in a residential neighborhood and must maintain the goodwill of our neighbors so please no parties and maintain quiet at all times.
Please no smoking on premises.
Everything that you need is there. Cozy, clean. Secluded, private and quiet. Our second stay and we'll definitely be back. Easy access away from the main traffic.
Thank you so much to Jim and Nina, the owners, who made us feel so welcome! Your place was so quiet and clean and the location is perfect! You made our stay so enjoyable and we will definitely be back! We would highly recommend your place to anyone!!! Mahalo for everything!
We were greeted upon arrival by Jim our host. Jim showed us around the rental and explained where everything we might need was located and how to reach him at any time. Our surname was on a placard outside the driveway and one where we were to park in the driveway and outside our unit which made the property easy for us to locate. We thought that was a special touch. Jim was helpful with advice on hiking spots and other activities. We really appreciated having a washer and dryer in the unit. Everything we needed was there. The beach was a short block away and the sand went for miles. Sleeping was easy as it was very very quiet street. We met Nina the next day and she was super friendly with plenty of island information that we asked about. Our bed was comfortable, there were plenty of fluffy towels and the unit was super clean! We recommend this location as it was about 30 minutes outside of Honolulu, but without the traffic, yet close enough to take part in activities there .
We enjoyed staying here very much.
If you like privacy and quiet, this the place for you.
The kitchen is well equiped and has everything you need (short of a full oven setup).
Nina and Jim are great hosts.
We loved the location and the clean, well equipped unit. Nina and Jim were so friendly and welcoming but gave us our privacy. We enjoyed walking to the beach, restaurants and beach park. The private patio was secluded and inviting and we were pleased at how well thought out the unit was with everything that we needed, including beach gear and washer and dryer. We will return again and highly recommend the Haven to those who seek a great nights sleep, a well equipped kitchen and a clean living space in a great location. Thanks Nina and Jim !!!
We found the location of Blue Water Haven great for us and our walking adventures! It's a conveniently close walking distance to the local park, Kailua and Lanikai beaches and Pill Box hike. We walked to all these areas and enjoyed a cooling dip in the ocean after the Pill Box Hike. We enjoyed a walk to Kailua town also. The apartment was well stocked and markets are close for any purchases you will need. We really enjoyed breakfast each morning on the little lanai you see pictured in the photos...very peaceful. We did not meet Jim and Nina, who live on the property, and this was the first time we have not met the VRBO owners, so this seemed a bit unusual to us. We felt it would have been nice to meet them and say hello. They did provide good "welcome" signage on the street and on their property to help us locate where to go to find the apartment and where to park. This was very helpful! We both noticed a sour-type smell to the bed linens and mattress pad, but it was a very late hour on our first night there when we discovered this concern and we re-laundered the linens ourselves. We notified Jim and Nina of the laundering concern after our stay ended and they responded that they would re-evaluate their laundering procedures and would have appreciated it if we had taken the concern up with them versus handling ourselves. They assured us they would have gladly corrected the problem. We also let them know we saw a few cockroaches, however, we saw these critters in a couple other places we stayed in Hawaii and feel it is probably a challenge to control in a tropical environment. The provided washer/dryer unit, and air conditioner located in the bedroom were definitely pluses! However, we enjoyed leaving the windows open for the nice fresh breeze and only used the a/c briefly a couple times.
