Self-catering rural apartment set in the charming village of Llames de Parres in Asturias, Spain. The Apartment consists of spacious areas, wooden floors, high beamed ceilings, two bedrooms each with it‘s own bathroom, fully fitted and well equipped kitchens. The common areas include; laundry facilities, a recreational hall with hot tub, barbeques and picnic area.

This undiscovered paradise of the north offers nature lovers a fantastic escape, whether it be mountains or beaches. SPRING IN ASTURIAS: Visit Asturias in the spring amd early summer and get the most from you holidays. June and July are perfect months to visit our area, the days are warm and clear and most important of all is there are no crowds. You can stroll down the streets of Cangas de Onis, visit the lakes of Covadonga in your own car, or just sit at a sidewalk cafe for the afternoon and watch life go by.

Beautiful area, nice property and host

One week was to short, but it was a nice one.

Mountains nearby to walk in, beaches with nice wawes to swim in, cows and sheeps on the road and simply just nice walks to the nearby houses, fields or Camino de la Reina - we will be back for sure!

Lovely apartment in a stunning location

Our apartment (Louisa) was built in the traditional style of the region - with lots of lovely features. While the woodwork was beautifully crafted, it did make it rather dark inside, but it was very homely. The apartment was nicely furnished, well equipped and clean and benefited from a Wi-Fi room which my teenagers found essential! It is situated in an outstanding location, with superb views from every window. Although being high in the hills, there is a small village close by with a couple of 'bars' and it is only a few kilometres from the town of Arriondas. Norma, the owner, was very friendly and provided helpful advice on local activities and restaurants. We enjoyed walks in the mountains, kayaking on the river, visiting local towns on the coast and the beaches. Most of the restaurants do a good value menu of the day, but you won't find much English, so you'll need your phrase book. The local supermarket was surprisingly well stocked too. We've just returned from a really lovely holiday, and would recommend it to friends.

Didn't want to leave

Spent an excellent week here with our two children ( 5 & 7 ). Very peaceful location with tremendous views across the valley. The house was extremely spacious, well stocked and so nice that the children (and to be honest ,the adults) wanted to move in on a permanent basis. Very safe environment for the children, they had a great time running around the garden and playing on the swings.

The village itself is fairly quiet , a short stroll to the local pub, but there is loads to do round about. Lovely mountain walks, cycling and scope to indulge in most adventure activities. The coast is an easy twenty minute drive away and we visited four of the nearby beaches, all of which were excellent. Could easily have stayed for much longer.

Special thanks to Norma who provided invaluable local knowledge on where to eat, local markets, easily missed river swimming spots and the best beaches.

Wonderful from all aspects

The photos and description in the advert didn't even come close to capturing the loveliness of the apartments, the setting, and the sounds of cow bells (no traffic!). The apartments themselves are beautifully done up, immaculate, and very well maintained. Norma, the owner, was simply wonderful and nothing was too much trouble for her. She and her family helped to make our stay very special. The setting in the mountains and small rural village is perfect for anyone wishing for peace and quiet and natural beauty. We spent ten days there with our three young boys, canoeing in the rivers, going to the beaches, exploring the mountains and felt we could have stayed even longer. Our children had a fabulous time playing football and catches with the other children staying at the apartments (language was no barrier for the kids!!). Almost everything you would wish to visit in the area is within a 30 min drive, including a basilica set up in the mountains (covadonga - a must see), a number of very good beaches, little villages, and pristine rivers. It was so lovely to experience authentic Asturian culture that hasn't been spoilt by mass tourism. All in all a brilliant stay.

To be trusted

It's so important that we get the holiday we need isn't it? Chuffed to say that's what we got when we went to Asturias and La Calvera in August 2011; it was peaceful, beautiful, friendly, warm, varied, marvellous.

The accommodation is very comfortable, the hospitality warm, the location perfect for lovers of the sea, mountain, town and country.

And finally, Norma (the hostess) is just what Brits on hols need, an English speaking mine of local knowledge with deep indigenous roots who speaks perfect English and understands 'It's so important that we get the holiday we need'..

Perfect!

This is the perfect holiday setting. The complex has stunning views of the mountains and the countryside on all sides. The location is beautiful, although we found it a little difficult to find the first time. The apartment was very clean, cosy and comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped and the bedrooms were spacious with plenty of wardrobe space. Everything you could want/need is provided.

The owner was very helpful and forthcoming with local knowledge, she guided us to some wonderful eateries and places of interest in the nearby villages. I would recommend La Calvera to anyone and I will look forward to returning with my family to enjoy the charms of the Asturias and the hospitality of Snra Norma.

Our location could not be more perfect. We are located 15 minutes from the “Autovía Del Cantabrico” the north coast motorway making day trips to the city or the typical tourist attractions an easy option too! Llames is a charming village of about 200 located aprox. 2 kilometres from Arriondas the county seat. The area is full of things to do from quiet strolls, hiking in the Picos de Europa to a swim at the beach of Ribadesella 20 minutes from here. If what you enjoy is the hustle of the city Oviedo is only a 50 min. drive. There is always something to see or do close by and your host will be glad to help
