About Ewa

Nothing suits us more than being outside. In the snow, in the sun or even the rain. We are very fond of down-hill skiing, especially the wide-open bowls. Once the snow melts, we become avid hikers and golfers. Having skied many resorts in North America and Europe, we find Kicking Horse perfectly suited to our likes and abilities and enjoy how there is always something new to discover. We are looking forward to biking and trying white water rafting on the Kicking Horse River, but skiing will always be our favourite activity.

Why Ewa chose British Columbia Mountains

Over the years we have gravitated to Kicking Horse Mountain Resort over all the other mountain resorts. It's hard not to fall in love (and into thigh-deep powder) with one of it's four bowls or the mountain vistas that astound you over and over again with every turn of your head. Every time we drive out from our home in Edmonton, we feel the stress of the work week strip away and are always enthused to go for a walk in Golden or treat ourselves to a night-out in one of the many fine restaurants. And now, a place where we can hang up our hats, or helmets, and prop-up our feet in a condo well worth the six-hour drive.

What makes this condo unique

Aspen 56 is secluded enough to feel like a private mountain haven, yet close enough to ski-out from in the morning (very short walk up a slope behind the condo), or ski right up to at the end of the day. The resort also has a grizzly-bear sanctuary within walking distance and an excellent golf course near by. In the evenings, there is plenty to do without having to go down the mountain, but at the same time the town of Golden is close enough for an easy drive in.

Unforgettable Mountain Experience

  • 5 of 5

We had the most unforgettable experience at this condo. The views were amazing from the deck and hot tub. The private hot tub was used after a day full of adventures. Everything was as described above and comfortable for 2-4 people. The owners responded quickly to our request and any additional questions we had. A quick 10min walk down to the village or 20min drive down the mountain to town. Will definitely look to book here again.

Top notch condo for four

  • 5 of 5

Great condo for 2 couples or less. Great quiet location at end of cul de sac. Great views of Canadian Rockies from dining/living area, large deck (with large grill )and hot tub. Hot tub had great features and was clean. Ski in is easy and ski out requires just a short walk up a small hill. Inside the condo was clean and well-maintained. Bedrooms are small but who cares, you are just sleeping there. Beds are comfortable. Kitchen is well supplied with dishes, glassware, pots and pans. Only thing missing is coffee bean grinder. Would stay there again.

Great View, Comfy and Spacious for 4, Clean and well equipped.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this condo for 6 nights while skiing Kicking Horse Resort. (We had 2 couples occupy the property). The first thing we noticed when driving up to the property was the spectacular view of the mountains. The second was the modern condo that was very well appointed with all your necessities (Dishwasher, Washer/Dryer, Stove, BBQ, Hot tub...). Everything was in perfect working order and everything was extremely thought out by the owners. The added heated floors in the kitchen and bathrooms were a very nice touch.

With ski-in/out access to a world class skiing resort and plenty of variety of skiing (on-piste, backcountry to reach some untouched POW), I would highly recommend this condo and KHR.

Perfect spot, well appointed, comfy!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week while skiing Kicking Horse. (Two adults, two teens)

Condo had everything we needed, especially the hot tub after six gondola runs every day!

Mountain access was great, two minutes out the door to stepping into bindings, quick ski to gondola. Ski-out was 30 seconds from skis to door. It was so convenient, we returned to the condo for lunch every day.

Amenities were as described, having laundry was very handy. Owners easy to deal with, quick responses to any questions.

Highly recommend both the condo and Kicking Horse!

Clean, well furnished, great value.

Reputation and weather reports guided us to kicking horse as a ski destination. Upon deciding where to stay, we were inundated with advertisements and marketing. We relied on VRBO and they came through. The property itself was spectacular. It was very much as advertised and explained. The condo owners were exceptional to deal with and promptly returned all queries. The condo itself was well stocked with all kitchen needs and all electronics worked as described. The hot tub was well maintained and clean and the beds were comfortable after a full day of skiing. This condo is highly recommended.
