We had a wonderful time. The home is very nice - clean with comfortable furnishings and extras and a great view of spectacular sunsets. There was plenty of room for my wife and I, three daughters, two sons-in-law and five grandchildren. Its a bit of a hike down to the beach - well worth the effort because the beach is terrific - very private and Lake Michigan beaches are the best. This is a great place to bring the whole family together for a relaxing vacation. Rhonda was great to work with!
This house was secluded with private beach access just a walk downhill through a wooded area. The house was well kept with stunning lake views from the house. The internet did not work when we first arrived. Rhonda did try and the provider did get it working day four. We had bad cell phone signal thus without the wifi we couldn't look up info on the area or work. If I had one suggestion it would be to have a master bathroom mirror in the dressing area or add plugs to the area with the master so women can see while blow drying their hair. We enjoyed kayaking in Whitehall, the closest town and exploring dunes not too far north. If there for several days you may want to venture beyond Montague to Muskegon for more variety.
Awesome Rental, Don't Book Anywhere Else!
The house was amazing! We had three families staying at the rental, and there was plenty of room for everybody. The views of Lake Michigan were awesome. The beach was little hike down a pretty big hill, but wasn't too tough, even for the kiddos. The beach was really nice, and very private. We spent most of our time during the week down at the beach, and rarely saw anybody other than our own party. The downside with that is that the house is a little bit in the middle of nowhere, but that was great for us, exactly what we were looking for (there was still a Walmart about 15 min away, so not too remote). The location isn't great if you are wanting to dine out every night, but we were happy to cook our meals (there are also 2 gas grills for your use).
Back to the house, the house was incredibly well stocked with all of the appliances, dishes, silverware, etc. that you could possibly need (this is often been a frustration in past houses in which these were sparse, really nicely done with this home).
The management company was awesome as well, very responsive and great to work with. For example, my wife asked the night before we left (at 10pm) if the house would have a crockpot. Although I had been texting with the rental manager, I didn't want to send her a text at 10pm on a Friday night, so I sent her an e-mail. She responded back within about 5 minutes that they did have one (of course, they had everything).
Overall, awesome experience, you definitely won't regret staying here.
Stunning property. Quiet, secluded w/all the finest amenities. But it was Rhonda and her top notch service prior, making sure we were all set w/our needs for the retreat, that was the most distinctive part of the excellent experience. She is a gem.
A Perfectly Secluded Family Getaway
We have visited and stayed in several houses either on Lake Michigan or near it over the last twenty years and this one is by far our favorite! The view is just incredible. The house is very clean and well laid out for a large group or family. We never felt crowded or lacked privacy. It has plenty of bathrooms which are a must for our family of 12 plus guests we had. My favorite amenity was the outdoor decks. Whether watching the sunset, grilling fresh fish from the Lake or just enjoying a simple game of cards with family and friends the options are endless. There is something for every age group here. This house really felt like a beautiful secluded retreat. My family and I will definitely be making this place part of our Michigan family vacations every year.
5 star with seclusion and great beach access
An awesome vacation rental with access and a view of Lake Michigan that well continue to draw you back. The home is spacious, clean, well laid out, supplied and plenty of bathrooms for the 10 plus guests we had. The other amazing feature w good weather are the outdoor decks facing the lake, we made use of them multiple times. The seclusion of the property is another great asset.
The western Michigan town of Montague -- which shares the shores of White Lake and Lake Michigan with Whitehall -- offers plenty of outdoor tourist attractions; these include numerous lakeside beaches and parks. Montague traces its history to 1812, and hosts a selection of cultural artifacts and oddities. Travelers might visit numerous additional attractions in Whitehall, about a mile away. Also nearby is Silver Lake (explore the sand dunes), Pentwater, Grand Haven and Duck Lake.
