The apartment is located three stations from the Tour Montparnasse where artists have there rituel coffee places and galeries. It is about 20 minutes walk from our place. Just in front of our building there is a subway station. Three buses take us directly to the Rive Gauche, to the Louvre or to les Jardins du Luxembourg.
The apartment responds to all expectations. It is bright, spacious and rational. We enjoy it for resting, having friends over and also for its quietness since we like to enjoy reading and working at home.
Keywords: User friendly apartment for book lovers. Located one step from all expected typical french stores and coffee places. One step from most current buses and just in front of the subway. Direct to museums, Luxembourg gardens, la Rive Gauche, St-Germain-des-Prés. Comfort. Security. Quietness. Gardens all around. WiFi-.Weekly cleaning included. Washing machines. 3rd floor with elevator. Janitor. Friendly surroundings.
My husband and myself are both retired university professors from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. We love France where we have both studied and keep this appartement for spending six months or more in Paris each year. Lots of books and places to work are provided and we also spend a lot of time here with friends, that is why we have a large living room and dining room. We were specialized in Politicis and Law. We find France and french daily life completely different from Quebec and we enjoy following culturel and political activities. The place is organized for us to enjoy intellectual work independently. In Montreal, we are used to have 1,600sm apartment but we don't mind if Paris'one is only 64sm even for a long period since we also spend time in coffee places since there are two, one on the first floor of the neighbor building and one across the street. We can also eat there and enjoy local good french food. We need no car in Paris and life is much more simple with the subway just in front and the different close buses available. We also have friendly relations with our neighbors and the janitor of our building is a reliable person. So we like coming back to Paris and find this friendly surrounding. We are pleased with the idea of sharing our private atmosphere and comfort with those who love Paris or are curious to discover it.
The Owner purchased this apartment in 1998
We have been studying in Paris for our PhD degrees. I have been working in Paris in a cooperation agreement between Quebec and France. When that term was over. we were sad to leave and decided to have our own place. In Quebec we dont have a vacation place, we have a garden downtown. But we are happy to have a vacation place in France.
We first enjoy the location. Our area is not in the rushing places that some touristical streets represent. aT THE SAME, WHILE WE DONT SUFFER FROM THE NOISE AND STRESS OF THOSE PLACES, WE HAVE A DIRECT link with the buses and the subway. We also enjoy the fact that we are at the same time in a typical old time and modern area. We find all sorts of open shops with fresh fish, fresh vegetables etc. Also there are super department stores. Everything is close. There is a charming garden very close. An hospital for required consultations and so on. We would not change place. At the same time, the apartment is warm and friendly and has all expected services. It is also quiet. The bedroom is at the back and oriented south facing white buildings and an inside garden. There is plenty of light all around.
We are a couple in our 70's who recently spent a month in this charming apartment. It is light and airy. The bedroom is quiet and comfortable. The building is safe and well lit, with a nice modern elevator.
The location is excellent, and typical Parisian non-touristy just as specified in the description. We enjoyed the neighborhood shops, open markets, restaurants and cafes, all an easy walk, along with two pleasant parks.
Metro and buses were convenient and easy to learn. We also appreciated the wi-fi and the nice size TV in the living room.
Madame Legare was helpful and easy to work with, both before and during our stay. We are happy to recommend this apartment.

This spacious apartment gives you the experience of real Paris living. It is very conveniently located across from the Metro and a Velib bike station in a safe family neighborhood filled with all the varied French markets, cafes, and bistros. Anne is wonderful to work with and was very accommodating with all my requests. I stayed in the apartment for six months during 2015, and fondly remember my Paris home.
My husband & I rented this apartment for a month, in July. I should have written a review before now but I kept forgetting! The apartment was very comfortable & cosy and looked just like the photographs and was as described. There are a lot of shops within walking distance - we loved the markets. There are plenty of places to eat nearby - we did eat in the apartment quite a lot though - there is an excellent dining table where you can dine in style & comfort. Transport to get you round the city is excellent, and it is easy to undertstand even if it is your first time in Paris > the Metro is just across the road and there is a bus stop round the corner. However, for the first two weeks we were there we walked most of the time. The wifi in the apartment worked very well and so did the television. Communication with Anne, the owner, was very good. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your apartment, Anne.
A wonderful location for a month in Paris. A beautifully decorated and warm apartment complete with everything you'd need. The photos are "for real"...it is as good as it looks. And just as fine -- the 3 buses across the street that take you almost anywhere you'd want to go in Paris, from the Louvre to Fouchon to the "Grand" department stores. A neighborhood filled with both French and international bistros where quality and price match up, with a very traditional market street just a couple blocks away. Madame Legare even leaves her shopping trolley to assist you to and from shopping expeditions. I was tempted to take it down the street to the remarkably uncrowded branch of macaron mavin Pierre Herme!
The apartment and neighborhood are quiet and very safe, and within easy access of everything you'd want in Paris.
Frankly, I hope to make the apartment an annual event.
My husband and I enjoyed our one month stay in the apartment. The apartment was conveniently located as per the listing description. It is perfectly located in a nice and safe neighbourhood with a variety of restaurants and stores as well as farmers markets. Conveniently, a metro station is just accross the street from the apartment. But it was more fun to visit our favorate places and many other spots of interest in Paris on foot. The listing photos were also accurate. A weekly cleaning service by a very nice and friendly lady was most welcome.
We appreciated good and timely communication with the owner prior to our visit and during our stay.
We have already talked positively about the apartment with our friends and families. We certainly have no hesitation to recommend it to a couple who wishes a comfortable short/long stay. One minor glitch, however, was that internet connection did not work. But we were able to buy a internet plug-in down the street and after that everything worked smoothly.
My husband, myself and our two young daughters visited Paris for the first time this year. We chose to stay in a VRBO flat as we wanted to experience what it would be like to really live in the City of Light. We were thrilled with our rented apartment in Montparnasse! We had no problem contacting the owner, Anne, and we arranged to meet with the caretaker and pick up our keys on the afternoon of our arrival! This lovely, clean and cozy apartment was close to the city centre, situated in a quiet and safe neighbourhood, and best of all, was right across the street from the Metro station, which is very important in Paris! There was plenty of room for the 4 of us and there would have been room our teenage son if he had decided to come along! We loved that there was also a bakery, a grocery store and a few cafe's all less than 3 minutes away! We had a fantastic time in this apartment (AND PARIS!!) and the owner, Anne even called a few days into our trip to ensure we had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here on our next trip to France and look forward to visiting our "home away from home" again in the near future.
Easy access to all Paris exciting places, Tour Eiffiel, Champs Élysées, Arc de Triomphe, Place de la Concorde, L'Opéra, l'Hôtel de Ville, Le Marais, Le Louvre, Rive Gauche, Bibliothèque François Mitterrand, les Quais de la Seine, all are accessible by bus leaving from downstairs. One block from the typical rue Lecourbe whit french open markets etc. Many open markets all around.
