This fantastic apartment sleeps 8 (+1) and features a very large open plan living/dining room with kitchen area, 3 bedrooms, 1 double, 1 twin/double, 1 with bunk beds & 2 deluxe bathrooms, covering in total 82 m2 . In the lounge there is a large sofa bed, and upstairs there is also another room which can be used as a further sleeping area. There are 2 large balconies both with beautiful views of Mont Blanc and the valley below.

The apartment has its own ski locker and underground parking space. The development also boasts a Spa which includes an indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. A perfect way to relax after a days skiing!

A short 150m walk takes you to the village where there is a variety of shops and restaurants; we really recommend the delightful bakery and tempting delicatessen. The lifts, and ski hire shops are also all to hand from the centre of the village, where guests currently enjoy a 20% discount at the ski hire shop Intersport.

Local area: Just 3km down the road lies Montchavin, a traditional alpine village, offering a mixture of restaurants and apartments,and also a cinema, set amidst local houses and hay barns. It is easy to reach Montchavin, either on skis, in the telecabine (summer and winter) or via the free ski bus. Montchavin makes a lovely stop for lunch in the middle of a day's skiing.A brand new indoor/outdoor pool will open in the summer 2011. Down in the valley, the nearest town is Bourg St Maurice, 17km away, offering a greater selection of shops and supermarkets. In Bourg there is a wonderful Saturday morning Market, selling local specialities, and produce.

How to get there: Les Coches lies on the border between the two fantastic ski areas of Les Arc and La Plagne.

By Car, it is 930km from Calais, taking 9 hours.

By Air, the following airports are within easy reach: Chambery (1hr), Grenoble (2hr), Lyon (2hr), Geneva (2.5hr).

By Train, the nearest railway station is at Landry, only 10 km away, where both the Eurostar and the Snowtrain stop. It is very easy from there to get a taxi or a bus into the resort, the Eurostar goes direct to Landry from Waterloo. There are two Snowtrains: 1. The Blue Snowtrain, departs from Folkstone on a Friday evening on a coach which takes you through the Channel Tunnel. On the other side you join the overnight train that takes you all the way to Landry. 2. The White Snow Train, is the Eurostar from Waterloo to Paris, which is where you pick up the Snow Train. The return is late Saturday evening.

There is a communal reception area where keys can be collected from at the beginning of your stay and left on departure. Here you can get english newspapers and relax by the open fire, or play pool with friends. You can buy you ski pass at the recption area.

There is a shared washing machine and tumble dryer too.

The shared indoor heated swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room is included in our price, as is the underground parking.

Just to let you know that we have had a great week at Vue des Montagnes. Apart from the perfect weather conditions (blue skies all week) and the magnificient snow everybody in our group was so impressed with this great apartment. The view is absolutely fantastic and it took my breath away every morning.



At night we lit the candles, had drinks and snacks at the huge dining table and since we love cooking, we were so happy with the very well-fitted kitchen.



We were also really impressed with the short walking distance to the lifts which give acces to the whole Paradiski area.



Thanks again and hopefully we will be able to return next year!

In 2004, the major ski areas of Les Arcs and La Plagne were linked by the Vanoise Express, a modern cable car on 2 floors carrying 400 people, creating a new combined area called 'Paradiski', linking the whole network in just 4 minutes, which is now one of the largest ski areas in the world. There is an extensive range of skiing and snowboarding for all abilities, and this area links some of the finest sure-snow resorts in Europe.

Les Coches is right at the heart of the huge Paradiski area (Les Arcs and La Plagne) with 425 km of alpine slopes, 175 ski lifts and skiing up to 3250m on the glacier. Snowboarders will enjoy the snow-park at Arc 1800, the floodlit half-pipe at Arc 2000, as well as the snow-park at La Plagne. In addition, Val d'Isere/Tignes is 50 min away, the 3 Valleys are 45 min and St Foy (more off piste) is within 30 mins.

Ski school operates within the village and there is a children's club which caters for babies up to teenagers.

The apartment is equipped to a high standard and comprises of a fully fitted kitchen area, with a fridge/freezer, and a top of the range oven, hob and a microwave/ grill. The open plan living/dining room is furnished with 2 sofas one in stylish leather and a leather armchair. There is a rustic long wooden dining table with benches. The living room is equipped with a TV, a DVD player, an IPod docking station for you to play all your favourite tunes, and an xbox. We have left a selection of books, DVD's and games for guests to enjoy. The apartment has its own ski locker and underground parking space. Clean and comfortable with lovely views. Ideal for our mixed ages group.

Easy access to the slopes and several bars. There was a well stocked Spar and other small shops handy. The pool was used daily by some of our party. Overal a nice place to stay if you don't party but like a relaxed drink after the slopes. We recommend L'Origan bar/restaurant with its friendly staff.

Fantastic apartment with great facilities

We have just spent a week in this lovely apartment in Les Coches, we were a group of 2 families with 4 children between us aged between 1-8 years old. The children loved the x box, DVD's and games available. The apartment was much bigger than I was expecting and well equipped if you want to prepare your own meals. The best part is the access to the pool and spa area which we visited every night after a day on the slopes. Our children had lessons with Evolution 2 which I would definitely recommend, they really enjoyed their lessons and improved so much in the week we were there. We ate out a few times at the small pizza restaurant next to the ski hire place and had some lovely meals at a very reasonable price. We travelled all the way from Cumbria to Landry by train which was a great experience with only a 10 minute transfer to the apartment and very reasonably priced if you book in advance. Les Coches is a lovely little resort, having previously stayed in La Plagne I much preferred Les Coches and it still has all the great access to the pistes. I would definitely recommend!

Lovely apartment in great ski area

The apartment was just as described and warm, spotlessly clean with lovely views. The bedrooms are a little on the small side but perfectly adequate .... everyone slept well after all that excercise and fresh air! The "extra" bedroom under the eaves is perfect for small children. The bathrooms are pleasantly fitted out and although there are no proper showers we were happy to soak in the bath. We were lucky enough to have lovely warm weather and enjoyed breakfast on the balcony. There are lots of DVDs and games to keep all ages happy.

The position of the apartment was perfect and only a 5 min walk to the lift. (Not sure where the other reviewer was walking to!) The ski locker is accessed by lift but it was quite a stuggle to get 5 sets of skis and boots in. The spa was a lovely extra to enjoy at the end of the day and the pool was enjoyed by the 7 year old in our party. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful but note the opening hours, as not always there when you want to pick up the keys on arrival.

Les Coches is a small village with small supermarket but suggest a "big shop" on the way as much cheaper down the mountain. We only managed to find 4 restaurants in Les Coches itself and it is essential to book as they fill up quickly. The La Plagne ski area is massive and this was our 4th visit to the area and still we haven't managed to get time to go over to Les Arcs. The area caters for all levels from easy blue runs to very testing blacks. A trip up to the Glacier is well worth the time it takes to get there, just for the amazing views and quirky brightly painted bubble lifts.There are lots of lovely mountain restaurants but be prepared to pay at least 10 Euros for a typical basic lunch, as is the case all over The Alps.

I recommend Evolution 2 ski school. They were brilliant with the 7 year old in our party and after just 2 private lessons he was skiing with us.

Our flights came into Grenoble and Chambery and although Chambery Airport is the closest, it took us over 3 hours to get back there on the Saturday morning rather than the hour expected. Queues down the mountain and at the tolls were the worst I have ever seen in all my years skiing so make sure you allow plenty of time. Chambery Airport itself was bursting at the seams and urgently needs extending to cope with the ski season.

I would highly recommend the apartment and the ski area and we certainly will be back.

Vue des montagnes - les coches

Great apartment, fantastic views, well equipped lots of room and very comfortable. I'd say it was one of the best apartments I've stayed in. The sauna and steam room were a welcome feature in the evening, id recommend staying here to any one.
