This unique round house was built in mind for the vacationer. With its large kitchen and wrap around deck this house was built for entertaining and relaxing.
Everything about this house is unique giving you a one of a kind vacation. The open floor plan, endless windows and ceiling fans throughout give this house an airy treehouse feel within the Certified Wildlife Habitat! Enjoy the river view while you sip your margarita in the hot tub or gaze up at the stars at night.
The house has two bedrooms which can sleep four very comfortably. More people can always sleep in the main area of the house. We've had 6-8 here ocassionally.
The neighborhood is complete southern charm, bring your fishing gear and catch striped bass, grouper, trout, flounder, crabs and many more! Bring your bikes and during June head to Morris Blueberry farm where you can pick your own delicious blueberries, also visit the Bridgeton Marina or go antiquing at Kirkman's Antiques.
Bridgeton is only five minutes from beautiful downtown New Bern, historic Tryon Palace and birthplace of Pepsi Cola. Tons of local restaurants, farmers market, shopping, museums, parks and tours.
Full bathroom with an antique claw foot tub for soaking (or bathing the little ones after a day in the sun!) or get in the 20sf party shower which has two high pressure adjustable shower heads separately controlled.
The kitchen has a commercial style gas stove w/ grill and convection oven (and a book with local takeout menus). The kitchen island seats eight adults comfortably and doubles as the dining room table, the sink is large enough to put even the largest pots in with room to spare. Also in the kitchen is a wood stove for those feeling adventurous during the winter time. It bakes bread wonderfully and does an excellent job heating the house (electric heating and cooling also!)
The house has wifi through out and two tvs with netflix, pandora, etc. Also a small library of books and board games.
Downstairs we keep a croquet game which is always fun to set up in the spacious yard. At night enjoy the fire pit as it makes for a lovely end to fun filled day.

We have a fun filled marriage and believe to live everyday as if we are on vacation. Which was the inspiration behind building this house. Traveling, hiking, backpacking, camping, boating, cooking, writing and entertaining our just a few of our favorite past times.
The Owner purchased this house in 2011
The Bridgeton area is great, this town is very low key and relaxed. The town is very safe and close enough to New Bern for any activities across the river. Fishing is always prime and the night is always quiet (Unless we're making it loud!)
Freedom to be who we are. The house has no direct neighbors other than commercial businesses so at night we can be noisy or enjoy quiet night relaxing in the hot tub. Fishing is great and all the town's amenities we need are within walking distance. If you ever see a neighbor they are very friendly and helpful.
Andrea & Greg, Thank you for making the past 3 months an enjoyable stay in New Bern. I have really enjoyed my time in this house. You both have been very inviting and accommodating for both me & Bella (my dog). Thank you again!
Excellent property, thrilled with our stay. The owners were super helpful, easy to communicate with. Greg was so helpful with any questions we had and Andrea facilitated every step of our booking, start to finish. Our treetop getaway was a real treat. Everything as advertised, clean and tidy, perfect "home away from home" plus the vacation fun! And we even enjoyed upgrades that were not listed! I would definitely recommend the New Bern Round House and look forward to coming again.
The property is overgrown, the home is extremely dirty and disgusting. Cobwebs and dust on every ceiling fan. Ants in the kitchen. The bedding was stained, the pillows were yellow and black from being stained. The beds were uncomfortable stayed in the property for 13 hours and had to get out for fear of bugs/bed bugs. Was on a family vacation that was ruined by this so called NEW home!!
If you want to stay someplace that is a little "different," but is also welcoming, and in a great location, look no further. It has lots of natural light. We were happy the hosts were okay with us bringing our parrots and rabbit, who also enjoyed watching the squirrels, finches, butterflies, mockingbirds, and mourning doves who would visit the large wrap-around porch outside. The mattresses and sheets were incredibly comfortable, possibly the most comfortable ones I've ever experienced at any hotel or vacation rental. There is also a large shower and a charming tub. Everything is laid out and thought carefully out so that you don't have to look far for whatever it is you might need. Downtown New Bern is a short trip away, just over the bridge. I highly recommend it!
Greg and Andrea were more than accommodating for our last minute needs! They were very flexible when it came to working out the dates for our stay. We were in a pinch to find a place quickly and after remembering a past email, I contacted Andrea about the house. Upon arrival, the house was very clean, cute, and quaint. The New Bern Roundhouse has everything you need for either a short or extended stay! The website is very accurate and what you see is what you get (which is a good thing). If you are able to stay at the Roundhouse, you will not be disappointed.
Thanks Greg and Andrea
We stayed here over the weekend and had a great time! It's definitely a very cool and unique place to stay and beats out a hotel any day of the week. We loved the wrap around deck and hot tub, our son loved their Nintendo (the original one!) and our dog loved all the fresh air as we had the doors and windows open. The location is just quick 5 minute drive over to downtown New Bern and a good central point to get to other nearby cities (we hit the fossil museum up in Aurora and Cape Lookout down by Beaufort during our stay). Because it is a round house and pretty open, it does bring a lot of light in the morning so you may want to adjust your schedule a bit to go to bed a little earlier since you'll likely wake up earlier. Considering we weren't planning on sleeping in late, it wasn't a problem for us. The place is very clean, well decorated and has a lot of nice amenities. Not to mention the owners, Andrea and Greg, were super nice and helpful! We highly recommend staying here if you're planning on being in or around New Bern!
The round house is a very unique place to visit! It has a lovely kitchen that includes a Jenn-air, an amazing bath and double shower, wonderful wrap around porch, and the decor is charming. We really enjoyed our stay and the owners are extremely nice and were at the ready to accommodate visitors.
We highly recommend this house for a romantic get-away.
