Overview

Hamakua Coast House Rental Photos and Description

Two story home with 3 bedrooms downstairs and living room and kitchen upstairs

Located just north of Hilo, in the breathtaking Hamakua Heritage Corridor, this property has outstanding views of the Pacific Ocean from every corner! You can watch the sunrise every morning and during whale season you can see and hear the whales breaching and calling. This newly built home is large, comfortable and has all the modern amenities. It is a 2 story home with 3 bedrooms downstairs and the upstairs has the living, dining and full kitchen with double french doors that open to a large Lanai with deck chairs for your fun and relaxation. Grab you favorite drink and enjoy the sweeping ocean view. The year around tread wind keeps this area cooler and less humid than the rest of the island. You can buy island grown fruits and vegetables at the nearby farmer's market and cook delicious meals in our kitchen while looking at the ocean. Our UV- filtered rainwater tastes better than bottled water. Your children will love feeding and petting our friendly sheep on the property. In the evening, you can make yourself comfortable in front of the flat screen HDTV and watch your favorite channel or take advantage of the blue-ray DVD player. With newly added internet with WiFi, you can also stay connected to your friends and family..

Built on 2 lush green acres, this home provides you with privacy, security and all the peace and quiet you need. Located close to the Hawaii Belt Road that circles the entire island, it is easy to find at night and convenient for your sight seeing.

Centrally located to both Hilo and Kona and all the major attractions - Hilo 15 minutes, Waimea/Waipio 30 minutes. Famous Akaka Falls Park and Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden are only minutes away. It is a drive away to the most visited Volcano National Park and the beautiful Black Sand beach.

There are many beautiful sites on this island to visit but I assure you that you and your family will end up spending a few days just hanging out in this home. My family is very excited to make our home available to you for your stay on the Big Island. We are offering very low rate to our guests!!! Additional discount is available if you stay 7 days or longer.

Great for family vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our first VRBO experience and we are extremely happy. Tarek was very accommodating and immediately made us feel comfortable. He checked to make sure we arrived safely. We loved the view and enjoyed the morning sunrises. We liked the fact that it was quiet and was sitting on a couple of acres. The house was very clean and the pictures were accurate. The house has all the comforts of home and we can't think of anything that was missing. Plenty of things to see nearby. Thank you Tarek for sharing your home and making this an excellent experience.

Awesome Vacation Home away from Home!!

  • 5 of 5

With a great ocean view and a well equipped house, there is little more that one needs!! Well, maybe a few geckos, some fresh bananas, and an ocean breeze gently breezing over the deck while one scans the ocean, and if lucky, sees whales blowing or breaching!! Yes, that is available here also!! 3 beds, 2 full baths, newer home well kept and very clean inside and out as well as the groomed grounds make this home very comfortable for families wanting privacy, peace and a country atmosphere!! It suited us perfectly! it is never too far to go anywhere on this island. A short drive away and the sun would be shining if we left in a gentle Hawaiian rain. Kona, Hilo, Waimea, the volcanos all easily reached. Hilo, is 20 minutes to great parks, beaches, farmer markets and places to eat. Waimea, is 45 minutes in the opposite direction and from there another 10-15 minutes to the top side of Kona and the start of some terrific beaches!! Pick up the local maps and brochures and find what interests you and away you go! Be adventurous and take the side roads, it is amazing what you will see! So much history and so many diversified cultures blended to make Hawaii the unique place it is.

One month here away from the snow in Canada is never enough but we are thankful for our time spend there!

Neat and charming oceanview home on Hwy 19 off the Hamakua coast!

  • 4 of 5

We were spoiled for choice due to the incredible diversity of vacation rentals available on the eastern side of Big Island. Finally chose Tarek's home and we are overall pretty happy about our decision despite a few minor inconveniences.

Tarek was very prompt and communicative with questions and reservation setup. He offered accurate directions to his home. We arrived at the home coming in from Mauna Kea VIS late night, and I did not have the directions handy. Google Maps was not accurate, and it was a hassle locating the property at night without Tarek's directions, as the road with entry to home was not obvious. Would recommend arriving with either Tarek's directions or before sunset. Totally my fault.

There were a few cobwebs in the patio/outside terrace, and some bugs which was understandable considering the home is in a rural/farm setting. The home interior was very inviting and charming though the reverse layout to take advantage of the views took some time to get used to. The ocean views were very calming and serene. The listing description and amenities offered are accurate, as are the friendly goats/sheep on the edge of the property. Tarek's home is about 25min away from Hilo, and an hour from VNP but very close to scenic drives and waterfalls in the Hamakua area. We also took advantage of the ripe/unripe bananas on the property grounds.

I would recommend bringing in bottled water in case you do not like the taste of the filtered water. Would also recommend not using water in the kitchen and two bathrooms simultaneously, as the water pressure seemed to decrease a lot when we had to leave early on the day of our departure. With some additional care, I believe Tarek's home can provide a much more welcoming and rewarding experience.

We enjoyed our stay and would love to have the opportunity to return. Thank you Tarek for all your help, and providing us a charming place to stay on the Hilo side!

Owner's Response: It was our absolute pleasure to have you and your family as our guests. I really appreciate your kind review and your suggestions. I passed on your comment to my cleaner and also replaced the water filter early which restored the water pressure even during simultaneous use of both bathrooms. I hope you come back to stay with us again. Mahalo!

The most beautiful are on the Big island !

  • 5 of 5

Having never been on the Big Island, it was not easy choosing the perfect home and location for my family of 5. After having spent 3 weeks in this house my family and I agree I could not have chosen a better location or a better house.

This is an absolutely beautiful house and had everything we needed.

We loved visiting the beautiful falls just minutes away.

We loved having a store in Papaaloa to buy milk bread and delicious freshly baked pizza. We visited Waipio valley, pololu valley and Havi to see the Kings statue and have the best Shave ice in the island.

We loved driving through Waimea to the Honokaa Coast to So many beautiful beaches to spend the day boogie boarding, snorkelling and making sand castles. Horse back riding and great restaurant in Waimea were great.

Tex Drive in has amazing Malasadas and it's just a short drive away. :)

The house was spacious , very clean and had everything we needed. When we come back in a few years, we all would love to stay here again!!!

Thanks so much for sharing your home with us !

WOW

  • 5 of 5

We loved everything about that place. The owner is awesome and everything was ready when we arrived. It's so quiet.

You'll have to drive to get everywhere, but it seems to be the case whenever you live in Big Island.

Rent this place. You really should.

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome.

Beautiful place, Beautiful view!

  • 5 of 5

To start, the view from this place is amazing!! It was so nice to sit out on the lanai and just watch the ocean, sunrises, and sunsets. We really enjoyed our stay here. The place is simply decorated but has all the necessary amenities. The location was perfect for us because we did not want to be right in the center of Hilo, but there is not a lot located nearby. This was not a problem for us, we just stocked up on what we needed while we were out and about for the day. We did not have a contact with the owner while staying there, as it was not necessary, but he was very helpful beforehand. If you want some peace and quiet and a beautiful place to relax, this place is for you. We would definitely recommend this place!
