Abundance of parking. Children friendly amenities including high chair, game and toys. Local fishing pond for children 12 and under.
We LOVE FAMILY and large family gatherings. We have used the cabin over the years to bring our families together and have made many good memories as brothers, sisters and cousins have grown up and have had wonderful experiences together. We have ridden quads, taken walks, gone fishing, boating, swimming and rafting, visited Yellowstone National Park several times, been to rodeos, local town fairs, roasted marshmallows, talked, played, etc.
Natali Lenning purchased this cabin in 2006
We designed and built this cabin to allow large families to get together and make great memories far away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
This cabin is close to a beautiful reservoir open to fishing, water-skiing, jet-skiing and swimming. You can float down a nearby lazy river, or have access to some of the world's best fly-fishing. It is only 30 miles from Yellowstone National Park where you can see some of nature's most wondrous creations. Locally hike and be amazed at Mesa Falls and other hiking trails. Local trails are available for quads and dirt bikes. You are surrounded by beautiful natural scenery and wildlife such as deer, elk and moose.
We can't say enough about this wonderful cabin! It was the perfect spot for our Family Reunion! We had a large group, but the cabin is much larger than the pictures would indicate. It's beautiful and very spacious with high vaulted ceilings and beautiful views! The rooms were each so comfortable and accommodating. We loved the large kitchen and granite counter tops at the bar for serving from. The game room was a huge hit with all of our grandchildren, as was the fire pit in the back. It was the perfect spot to relax, kayak at the lake just a short distance from the cabin, sit around the campfire roasting marshmellows, homebase from as we made a day trip in to Yellowstone and especially to relax! We even took family pictures on one of the roads leading in to the area! Such a beautiful setting. The cabin was well equipped with everything we could want and in great condition. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful place with our family! We would love to return again some time!!
This cabin had everything we needed. Our party consisted of 9 adults, 11 children and one infant. The children loved the bunk room and the air hockey, ping pong, and pool table.
We used the fire pit and hot tub. The fire pit has no seating so bring your own. The cabin has all the towels and dishes you might need for a large group.
It is a tad short on seating to eat. We looked for additional folding tables and found folding chairs but no table. The website lists a crib and there wasn't one. We could have easily brought a pack n play but thought it wasn't needed.
None of this prevented us from having an awesome time. Well appointed, clean & up to date. No wifi and hard to get phone connection.
We had a great time. Plenty of room and more than enough beds for our crowd. Well equipped, clean. Table games in the garage. Hot tub on back porch. Kitchen had everything we needed. Awesome mantle on the fireplace. Good location. Bunkhouse upstairs. Great for families.
We were very happy with the cabin. I would recommend this property to friends and family. Maybe you could get a new frying pan or two. We really enjoyed the game room. But there was only three ping pong paddles we needed one more and there was only one ping pong ball.
We all loved our stay at the cabin & wished we didn't have to leave - we are already talking about doing it again in a couple of years. The next time we will leave more time to just 'hang out' at the cabin & the fishing pond instead of filling up all of our time going to surrounding attractions -- we may need to add one more day. Everyone loved seeing Yellowstone National Park & West Yellowstone as well as Mesa Falls, but they all wanted more time to play the games in the cabin, watch movies & relax in the hot tub. We also enjoyed the fire pit & making s'mores each night we were there.
The cabin itself is very clean & well organized, the couple of questions I had were answered very quickly and the owner was very helpful with providing info about surrounding stores & restaurants. The only tiny issue we had was the washing machine took a while to do each load, but it may have also been an operator error issue.
Our stay at the Sweet Escape cabin is already a treasured memory & we hope to make it a family tradition.
The cabin was very nice. They need to let people know that parking in the winter is not good. We had asked about parking and was told it was good for snowmobile trailers. That is not the case. We got one pick up stuck trying to get out. So just know don't try to take trailers in to cabin. Everything else was just fine.
Close to Yellowstone National Park, Henry's Lake and the Snake River. Island Park and Henry Lake have world class fly fishing.
