About Gabriela Delpino-Kentala
We are a Finnish/Peruvian family, currently living in Stockholm. We love travelling, good food, meeting new people and making friends!
Gabriela Delpino-Kentala purchased this House in 2014
Why Gabriela Delpino-Kentala chose Calca
Our home is located in Huaran. It's great as it is really at the heart of the Sacred Valley, close to all major touristic sites but still not in the busy centers where all tourists pass every day. You have easy access to everything but after a long day you get the chance to relax and rest in a calm and quiet surrounding. A three minute walk to the main road where one can catch a public transport to Calca, Urubamba or even Cuzco. Taxis can also be called upon request. Also at a walking distance there are nice restaurant options and shops available.
What makes this House unique

Breakfast is not provided but we have included a complimentary breakfast basket for the first morning to help you have a nice and easy start.

I would recommend this home for a great insight to living in the valley Wonderful experience
We had a wonderful time. Everyone was friendly and the local transport was amazing to take part in. Can’t believe how everyone kept fitting into these tiny buses 🤗
An amazing spot in the middle of the Sacred Valley!
My family of four stayed here for six nights in June. It was a truly amazing cultural experience. The house itself is very charming and also more than adequately equipped. Hubert, the brother of the owner was on site to help us with any issues (although there weren't any), and he speaks perfect English. The owner also helped us to meet Ferdinand, our local driver, and he was the best as he took us on day trips to Cusco, Ollantaytambo, Urubamba, Chinchero, Pisac and beyond! I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a more authentic Peruvian experience, as you are truly staying in the middle of a rural, working, non-touristy Peruvian community, that is perfectly situated for visiting all of the great sites in the Sacred Valley and beyond.
Lovely home in the sacred valley.
We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful area. The home was clean, comfortable & very well kept. Gabriela & family were wonderful to deal with & very helpful when planning our stay & arranging a driver to meet us in Cusco. I would highly recommend this property!
Very pretty and serene home.
We had a lovely time in this beautiful home. It's very nice and convenient. The owner's mom lives next door and manages the property. She made us delicious Peruvian food.
We had an issue with the cab driver not showing up on the day we were going to the airport. The owner's mom helped us and called them till they showed up.
Thank you for amazing memories and wonderful time!
4 days in the sacred valley
We stayed in this wonderful house in mid August. It is right in the middle of all the sacred valley sites. We had a car but I would not recommend as plenty of taxis / vans are available. Its easy to visit all the sites in the sacred valley from here. Also, there hiking opportunities right near the house. Communication with host was instantaneous and provided all the information one could hope for. Host was also immensely helpful in resolving my issue with the rental car company.
Thank you so much for staying in our house! It was truly a pleasure to have you over and we hope to see you another time in the near future!
We are located in the center of the Sacred Valley, which was an extremely important area for the Incas and the civilisations that came before them. There is evidence that it was inhabited as far back as the stone-age and a variety of Pre-Inca and Inca sites (and sometimes the two rolled in to one).
The main benefit of the Sacred Valley was it's fertile soil and warm climate that allowed the Andean civilisations of the area to produce the food they needed to flourish and grow. Even today the Sacred Valley is an important agricultural zone and you can see a wide variety of crops being grown there.
The Sacred Valley is home to many Inca sites with the most well-known being Pisac and Ollantaytambo and obviously Machu Picchu at it's far end. Visitors come from far and wide to see the beautiful Inca architecture that lines the valley and many choose to spend a few nights here so that they can enjoy it to the fullest.
