This three bedroom ranch house features a large sun room over looking the Sauble River. The house includes a fully equipped kitchen, a large living room with cable TV, and 1.5 baths.
We bought the house in April of 1990. My wife and I have enjoyed the beauty and peacefulness the Sauble River. Nothing can compare to the tranquil sound of a flowing river over the rocks and the sun reflecting off the moving water.
Nick Kussy purchased this house in 1990
I have been enjoying the northwestern Michigan area since the early 1970's. Over the years my family ( children and grandchildren) have enjoyed the beauty and recreational fun the area has to offer.
The view of the river from the sun-room or a camp fire down by the rivers edge is difficult to beat.
We loved staying at the River House. I can't really add much more to the previous reviews about the house itself - it was more than adequate for our family. The river really was lovely. We went tubing - a fun time, but expect to "walk" your tube through many shallow areas. There are golf courses close enough for those looking for non-fishing activities - as well as Ludington State Park.
Nick is good to rent from; he began communicating with us well before our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. We would certainly stay there if we were to go back. Thanks Nick.
The cabin was just as we expected--very clean, sizable, and well stocked with necessities. The interior is definitely a little aged, but what weekend cabin isn't? The back yard was much more impressive than the pictures showed. The babbling stream was very soothing, there is a nice fire pit with plenty of seating, and a terraced seating/eating area as well.
Nick was fantastic with communication and very accommodating. I wouldn't hesitate to rent this spot again, it was a great value!
We couldn't ask for a better location to stay and fish the Pere Marquette river. Only 15 minutes away from our favorite spot and all the comforts of home. There were 6 adults and plenty of room for all.. There was everything we needed for our stay to be worry free. We had s'mores by the river next to a comfy fire and then off fishing early next morning. Well equipped kitchen, cable TV, internet and phone service made Nicks place 5 Star.
Ps: We caught some great Salmon.

My grandsons and I had a wonderful time at this cabin, walking the river and enjoying the beautiful setting. We made smore's each night and loved the view! I would highly recommend this for anyone who wants a quiet get-away and enjoys rivers as much as I do!
We stayed the week of June 26, 2015. This very comfortable house is just perfect! Room to roam and stocked with everything we needed and more. The property is like a dream. Sitting by the river at the campfire watching turkeys strut by, was just what the doctor ordered! We took the short drive to Ludington beach and found a great restaurant just north of Baldwin. Club 37, satisfied out taste for surf and turf. The owner, Nick was a pleasure to work with. He even went out of his way to return a beach chair that we forgot to pack! My fishing buddy had to skip the trip at the last minute, so I didn’t spend much time in the nearby rivers. I did find a good spot nearby to get some family target shooting in! We loved everything about this place, and recommend it to all! Thanks Nick!
Enjoy a fishermen/ladies retreat on the Sauble River that features great trout fishing for brook and browns. Besides the great trout fishing right out your back door, we are located within a 10 mile radius of the world renown Pere Marquette River, Big Manistee and Little Manistee Rivers and the Pine River.
