Very private, peaceful and beautiful one bedroom Guest Apartment with complete separation from owners private residence. Brand new construction. Granite counters and Philippine Rosewood floors. Full kitchen and utensils. Stained glass lamps & artwork from local artists. Relax, take a quiet walk though majestic Redwoods, go biking, or enjoy the culture & cuisine of Marin County, San Francisco, and the wine country.
My wife & I met and married in Mill Valley 40 years ago. She owned the downtown flower stand for many years. There will be fresh flowers when you arrive & probably some fresh berries when we make or weekly trip to the local Farmers Market.
We know & love Marin County and want to make your stay a memory to last a lifetime
Anna or Chuck purchased this apartment in 2011
This apartment directly adjoins a wonderful hiking trail on the lower slopes of Mt. Tamalpais. Our son gives bike tours of Sausalito or San Francisco and we can arrange a mountain biking guide for you. Or you can take a walk to explore Mill Valleys world famous lanes & paths that start just outside your door or.
A 5 minute drive takes you to downtown Mill Valley, it’s about 20 minutes away from ocean beaches, Muir Woods, or San Francisco. Or take a 40 minute drive to Napa/Sonoma-- the heart of Wine Country.
Mountain solitude on a 3/4 acre lot directly adjoining a wonderful hiking/biking trail. This sunny site overlooks majestic Redwoods with soaring ravens & hawks. A place to relax or a jumping off base from which to discover the San Francisco Bay area--or both.
Chuck and Anna were welcoming hosts for their beautiful property. The unit had all of the comforts of home, except air conditioning which got a bit tricky with 95 degree days but we managed. It's in a beautiful location with easy access to wooded hiking paths as well as a 15 min drive to Muir Woods. Mill Valley is a cute town and close to interstates for access to other cities. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it.
Hosts were great, apartment was clean and well furnished. Great unique location to SF and Stinson Beach. If you fancy going out to dinner and enjoying a glass of wine or other alcoholic beverage consider the drive back. We stayed in and did not get to enjoy the town due to the very windy dark, road which at numerous times (12) is only accommodating to the width of one car. The walk to town would only be 1-1.5 miles one way but very hilly. We also don't remember seeing any street lights. Parking is on the street, the 54 steps up to the apartment do have a hand rail so not much of an issue unless one was carrying a lot, and WiFi worked well. Beautiful view on the small deck and very quiet. There was no microwave - as we like to reheat our coffee in the morning. Hikers and the adventurous types would love this place! A word of caution: Follow Chuck's directions which were very clear. We used our GPS and did not start on Miller St. There was road work and detours. We drove around in circles on the tricky roads -it was very stressful!
The rental unit was just right for the two of us. Comfortable furnishings, nice bathroom which included a washer/dryer and a small kitchen that worked well for our needs. What is hard to describe is just how gorgeous the setting is. The property is so pretty and you are surrounded by a glorious redwood Forrest. I enjoyed sitting on our private deck and enjoying the sound of birds chirping and the breeze through the trees. I loved the windchimes too. We left the windows open at night and fell asleep listening the sounds of the Forrest. We enjoyed the trail through the woods right out our door. Anna and Chuck, we thank you for creating such an amazing property and for allowing us to experience it. Thank you for everything. Geoff and Jacque.
Chuck & Anna's property is a first class getaway for peace & tranquility, high above the redwoods in Mill Valley! We usually stay in San Francisco to attend annual music festivals etc, this property is so much better than a city hotel room, so many options to hike, enjoy great cuisine in downtown Mill Valley or nearby Sausalito or just chill on the patio and cook in the well equipped kitchen you won't be disappointed!
Beautiful rental, peaceful & quiet, and absolutely spotless! Would highly recommend it and would definitely stay here again! Enjoyed our stay immensely! Thank you, Chuck & Anna, for being so helpful to us.
This was an incredible experience for us, actually living in a redwood forest for 3 days and nights. We loved the deck off of the bedroom, with steps leading to a beautiful walk deep within the redwoods. Absolutely amazing. The apartment was very clean and comfortable, with a good bed and good shower. Everything we needed. A wonderful taste of living in the redwoods, which we will never forget. Thank you so much, Chuck and Anna.
For a hiker or cyclist this is a premier location. The path from your apartment connects to Mill Valley’s world famous mountain biking/hiking trails. Walk up the street a few blocks & see the steps of the Dipsea Trail—walk down into town or hike to Stinson Beach or Mt. Tamalpais.
Take a 15 minute drive to the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco, or a 40 minute drive to Napa & Sonoma Wine Country.
