About Anna or Chuck

My wife & I met and married in Mill Valley 40 years ago. She owned the downtown flower stand for many years. There will be fresh flowers when you arrive & probably some fresh berries when we make or weekly trip to the local Farmers Market.

We know & love Marin County and want to make your stay a memory to last a lifetime

Anna or Chuck purchased this apartment in 2011

Why Anna or Chuck chose The Bay Area

This apartment directly adjoins a wonderful hiking trail on the lower slopes of Mt. Tamalpais. Our son gives bike tours of Sausalito or San Francisco and we can arrange a mountain biking guide for you. Or you can take a walk to explore Mill Valleys world famous lanes & paths that start just outside your door or.

A 5 minute drive takes you to downtown Mill Valley, it’s about 20 minutes away from ocean beaches, Muir Woods, or San Francisco. Or take a 40 minute drive to Napa/Sonoma-- the heart of Wine Country.

What makes this apartment unique

Mountain solitude on a 3/4 acre lot directly adjoining a wonderful hiking/biking trail. This sunny site overlooks majestic Redwoods with soaring ravens & hawks. A place to relax or a jumping off base from which to discover the San Francisco Bay area--or both.

A cliffside delight

  • 5 of 5

We spent eight delightful nights in Chuck and Anna's cliffside retreat high above the city of Mill Valley and every moment was perfectly pleasant. They are warm and welcoming hosts in every way.

The apartment itself was just right. Clean. Spacious. Well equipped. Comfy bed. Nice shower with great water pressure. Fluffy towels. Wifi. USB ports built into the end tables. Washer and dryer. Everything worked perfectly. Nothing went wrong.

We have stayed in private apartments for many years in both the U.S. and Europe. We've never had a more pleasant experience than Chuck and Anna's cliffside delight. We'll be back next year.

Beautiful, serene and so relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from our trip to the Bay Area. Chuck and Anna were perfect hosts! The accommodations are clean, new and private. We slept like babies with the windows open and the birds chirping! Everything we needed was provided. The view is stunning with redwood trees surrounding the property. I highly recommend staying here - our experience was definitely 5 stars! Thanks Chuck and Anne!

Most pleasant and relaxing. A lovely place to stay, deep in the redwood forest.

Chuck and Anna are helpful and easy -- Chuck drove us to the bus station when our taxi to the airport did not show up!. The apartment is set up well with a patio overlooking the redwoods, and a path into them at the back of the house. Our second time and we will do it again.

Lovely Accommodation

  • 5 of 5

We spent the month of May here. It was a real pleasure to watch the tops of redwood trees swaying in the gentle breeze when we awakened. There is so much to see and do near Mill Valley, which we took advantage of daily. If you enjoy hiking, the opportunities here are outstanding. This was a great place to return to at the end of the day. Anna and Chuck were very responsive to our needs and inquiries.

Quiet Mill Valley Retreat High in the Redwoods

  • 5 of 5

What a terrific place! My wife and I spent a week house hunting and the property was ideal. Quiet, well-equipped, impeccable, and beautifully situated high in the California Redwoods. Chuck and Anna are excellent hosts—attentive when needed but otherwise not interfering. The hosts live on site, yet the property is so well built and designed that you would think yourself alone in the forest. Even parking is easy, a rarity on Mill Valley's particular hillside properties. In short, a quiet retreat and a wonderfully restful spot.

Unique and wonderful

  • 5 of 5

What a fun and unique place to stay! The apartment is very well equipped and spotlessly clean. With its siting on a steep and wooded hillside it feels like staying in a treehouse. The owner's directions were spot on and Google Maps navigation got us there from San Francisco Airport with no problems.

We enjoyed the John Muir Woods and once again Google navigated us there without a hitch.

For a hiker or cyclist this is a premier location. The path from your apartment connects to Mill Valley’s world famous mountain biking/hiking trails. Walk up the street a few blocks & see the steps of the Dipsea Trail—walk down into town or hike to Stinson Beach or Mt. Tamalpais.

Take a 15 minute drive to the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco, or a 40 minute drive to Napa & Sonoma Wine Country.
