About The Owner

Our home is owned by my family and my wife's sisters family. They are identical twins and are exceptionally close. We each have three kids who are all very close, but unfortunately we live in Florida and sister and brother -in -law live in New York. Our lake home has allowed us to share incredibly memorable times together that the cousins will not forget. We have had many families visit with us and they all have had the same unforgettable experience. Now that the kids are getting older and doing their own things, we have not been able to utilize the house as much and would like to share it with others.

The Owner purchased this house in 2006

Why The Owner chose Bryson City Area

I have never been to a place with more natural beauty then Fontana Lake. The lake water is cool, clear and deep. One of our favorite activities is to find a secluded cove(there are hundreds) surrounded by the smoky's and just float in tubes for hours. It is truly exhilarating !! Or if water isn't your thing the hiking is spectacular as well as the sights of animals, mountains and vegetation.

What makes this house unique

It is the rare place where you can completely relax or be as active as you want

Perfect Multigenerational Vacation Home

  • 5 of 5

I was actually looking again at this house for a second stay and realized I had not left a review. Our stay in Summer of 2016 was a family vacation that we will never forget. The house perfectly suited our group of 12 ranging from ages 5 to 80 (4 couples, 4 kids). The house is absolutely beautiful. It was clean and ready upon our arrival. Each couple had a bedroom leaving the 5th bedroom of bunks for the kids. We especially enjoyed the large dining tables both indoor and out to accommodate our large group. The second kitchen downstairs was great to have the extra refrigerator to avoid the 30 minute drive to the grocery store. The views were outstanding. Surprisingly, we were there the 4th of July and felt we had the lake to ourselves. We had plans to do so many things in the area but only left the house as a group one time to hike the Three Waterfalls Loop in the Smokies. The kids never wanted to leave the house. The house was so relaxing with so many things to do. The kids loved the way the hot tub lights changed colors. The kayaks, stand up paddle board, water mat and boat dock provided endless fun and entertainment along with the ping pong table, pool table, fire pit, weight room. The house, the house location and Fontana Lake is truly a hidden gem and we would return without hesitation.

"Off the Grid" Paradise

  • 5 of 5

One of the best vacations we've ever had! The house is wonderful - plenty of room, picture-perfect setting, and well-maintained. We had 10 people ranging in age from 9 - 79, and had plenty of space. The owner is very responsive to any questions we had and gave us suggestions for activities. There are no neighbors crowding your view and the lake is not busy at all. Sometimes it felt like we were the only ones on it. If you're looking to be in the heart of the hustle and bustle, this house isn't for you. It's a long drive up the mountain within the gated community to get to the house - 15 minutes at minimum. But that also ensures the feeling of "going off the grid". Which also brings up another point - there is no internet access which took a few family members awhile to get used to. Despite being secluded, we still had easy access to NOC for activities, Asheville for the Biltmore, and Bryson City for grocery stops. And while in Bryson City, you MUST eat at the Filling Station and get the Cuban sandwich and at Jimmy Mac's for just about anything! Delicious! I highly recommend this house. You won't be disappointed!

Great home, amazing location, beautiful lake and memories of a lifetime.

  • 5 of 5

At the culmination of a lot of winding roads along the mountain side, rests a beautiful lake oasis. Our group of twelve found plenty of space to sleep and always had something fun to do. We tubed and hiked Deep Creek, rafted the Nantahala, went horseback riding, and spent a ton of time in the lake in a great pontoon boat. This home, with its great dock, hot tub, and fire pit was all that we could have wanted. Thanks for the wonderful memories. Special props to Tony at Alarka Marina who allowed us to rent a pontoon boat for 4 days and keep it over night in the boat slip. Apparently it is not the norm to be able to keep boats overnight but if you are interested, look him up. Really great time all around.

Beautiful home in a beautiful setting

  • 5 of 5

Even though the description and photos provided accurately describe this property, I was still blown away by it. All the amenities of home in an breath-taking setting. The owners provided a helpful guide for the local area so we knew where to stock up before we reached the house. We were a party of eight - 4 adults and 4 children between the ages of four and twelve. Prior to arriving, I was concerned the children would get bored but it never happened. They were super busy during the day playing ping pong, paddle boarding, kayaking and jumping off the second story of the floating dock. Evenings consisted of dinners on the lower deck and making s'mores in the fire pit or playing a game in one of the house's several comfortable living areas. To quote my 7yr old, "This house is awesome!"

This place is just a little bit of heaven . The house exceeded our expectations and we were blown away by the luxurious design. The vacation was very relaxing and our family (8 adults, 6 children) had plenty of room to be together but also enjoyed the privacy and space on the different levels. The owner was very responsive to our needs and is very focused on ensuring that we would have a great experience.

The lake is magic and is surrounded by nature at its best. The canoes, the water mat, the paddle board, the fire pit were a hit for the whole family. Even the duck with her 10 ducklings was sharing our joy on the water mat most of the day.

The grocery store is about 25 minutes away. So load up your car and save yourself a lot of precious time driving to get food.

Thanks to the owners for willing to share this beautiful house with us.

A fabulous house!

  • 5 of 5

Five couples spent a long weekend in this fabulous house, and it couldn't have been a better weekend. The house is wonderfully appointed and equipped (and plenty large enough for everyone to have their own space), the property well maintained, the views spectacular, and the owner even ordered perfect weather for us. We enjoyed the house and decks so much, we only left one morning to go exporing in Dillsboro. A previous comment about the distance/time to a grocery store was helpful, so we were sure we took everything we needed. We definitely give this house a high recommendation.
