The location of this stunning home cannot be believed. Located right on a long sandy beach, 30 feet from high tide, with views of Hornby, Texada, and Lasquiti Islands. Great for a walk in bare feet while enjoying the salt air or taking it all in from the new hot tub. Or, you could get out your fishing rod and enjoy fishing on what is arguably the best fishing beach in the area. Arrowsmith Golf Course, an exec 18 hole course is five minutes away. Just 300 meters away is a pub with food and live music as well as another restaurant. An easy walk, no need to drive after enjoying a cool one.
The home is luxurious and modern, having just been totally renovated. With an open floor plan, the front of the house has floor to glass windows that allow you to see the ocean from anywhere in the living room, dining room or kitchen. Relax and enjoy the ocean, whatever the weather, from the cozy living room or while having breakfast at the dining room table.
The large, fully appointed gourmet kitchen features extensive granite countertops and a state of the art induction stove with convection oven. There is also a new propane BBQ on the large deck. The master bedroom features a king size bed and a newly renovated ensuite with 2 sinks, a separate shower and a soaker tub. The second bedroom is roomy and features a queen size bed. All beds have new quality linens, pillows and towels.
This house has all the comforts of home including high speed internet, 40 inch tv with surround sound connected to cable, DVD player, stereo, washer/dryer, air-tight wood fireplace insert.
Relax on the comfy furniture on the large deck. Attached to the deck is a hot tub that seats up to six people comfortably. It’s a great location to sit entranced by the waves lapping on the beach or the stars overhead at night.
There is so much to do – walk on the beach, watch the wildlife which includes seals, sea lions and eagles, go for a swim, or go fishing. Between Nile Creek and Big Qualicum River, this is one of the best fishing beaches on the coast. There are numerous golf courses within 30 minutes, including Arrowsmith and Memorial Golf Courses.
Great seafood abounds in this area and you can easily purchase fresh oysters from Fanny Bay Oysters or fresh scallops from Island Scallops. Locally caught fish are available at many stores. In the summer, there are wonderful farmer’s markets at Courtenay, Qualicum Beach and Coombs where you can buy amazing fresh produce in a unique atmosphere.
There are many parks within 1 hours drive including: Horne Lake Provincial Park, Englishman Falls Provincial Park, Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park, Milner Gardens, Mount Washington and Cathedral Grove Provincial Park with its ancient trees.
Your days here surrounded by the ocean, forests and magnificent scenery will leave you with outstanding memories for you and your family.

Keywords: Luxurious, newly renovated home with stunning vews of Georgia Strait from the living room to the kitchen or in the hot tub on the large well furnished deck. Walk-on sandy beach just 25 feet away.
We have had a most enjoyable 6 weeks at the house. It was easy to drive to many close-by areas and keep busy and interested in local life.
The house is very comfortable and we absolutely loved the view from the large windows facing the ocean. The ocean with all its beauty is only 20 metres from the house. We had everything we needed and would not hesitate to rent it again. Please note the basement is also rented so you do share the house. This was absolutely no problem for us but it could be a problem if someone made a lot of noise.
This is the second time we have stayed here. We love the location on the beach, relaxing in the hot tub listening to the surf and the ease of exploring mid-island.
Our only concern with this vacation home is that it was advertised as a single family home, but there was a rental apartment in the downstairs as well. We were very lucky that they were good neighbors but this should have been made more clear in the write up for the property. Also, the back yard is so overgrown with plants that the path to the water is almost impossible to navigate for able bodied people and would be absolutely impossible for anyone with the slightest mobility issues.
Overall, we had an absolutely wonderful week.
Normally my mom, brother and I vacation on the shores of Washington but this was so much better. We arrived in darkness but the morning view was stunning. The view out all those windows just makes you stop and stare throughout the day. The deck was great and the hot tub got use every night. It was just the getaway we all needed.
Would have loved if at least one of the front windows or deck door had a screen because we wanted to let the water sounds in but, unfortunately, with the sounds came the wasps so we kept everything closed. No worries, we spent the majority of our time on the deck anyway :-)
My husband & I have rented several different homes on the Island thru VRBO and this is by far the very best. Massive windows overlooking the ocean, only steps from the beach, the most comfortable king size bed ever, a fully equiped kitchen, very comfortable furniture, close to Qualicum Beach and fantastic trails.....honestly I cannot say enough great things about these accomodations. We will be back, we're booking for June. There is nothing that isnt absolutely perfect about this rental. Thank you Jim!
My husband and I recently returned from a week spent at this incredible find. This unique gem
was such a pleasant surprise for us. Any description can not do it justice as it is the total package that makes it such a wonderful destination. Admittedly the hot weather was an important part of our experience but the heat pump provided a cool escape for those who might need it. There were people around most of the time, but the thoughtful placement of the home always gave us a sense of our own privacy. What really surprised us was how warm the water was, supposedly the warmest north of California, which made it perfect for all types of water activities. If one has a small boat or kayak, there is a public access nearby. We concur with all positive reviews by others and have no further suggestions for improvement. We hope to return again in the not too distant future.
Some useful information for your visit to Qualicum Bay:
Lighthouse Country -
For events scheduled at the local Lighthouse Community Centre just a kilometer away,
For lovely hikes, Englishman River Falls - about 20 minutes drive from the house. The first site is the provincial park website giving the basic park information while the second is pictures of sites around the area, including the Falls.
Little Qualicum Falls - about 20 minutes from the house. First site is the provincial park website and the second is images from an individual.
Horne Lake Caves Provincial Park, 20 minute drive for hiking and caving. On the way enjoy warm, fresh water swimming and canoeing at Spider Lake, 10 minutes away,
Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park, 20 minutes, a magnificent sandy bay at low tide, www.env.gov.bc.ca/bcparks/explore/parkpgs/rathtrevor/
Cathedral Grove - old growth forest. The forest was nominated as one of the seven wonders of Canada. I have included that link last.
Elk Falls Provincial Park near Campbell River an hour from here is found at,
Salt water Salmon fly-fishing - from our beach from mid-July to late October. You should check on what lures the fish will take in this area and can be purchased locally.
Fresh water fishing, Horne Lake and Spider Lake, 20 and 10 minutes away.
Kayak and paddleboard rentals can be found in Qualicum Beach, 15 minutes drive at Outsider Adventures at ; Courtenay, 30 minutes north of here at Comox Valley Kayaks and Canoes ;
or Tree Island Kayaking . The last two provide day trips to the magnificent Sandy Island Marine Provincial Park (also known as Tree Island)
which we highly recommend or launch the kayak at the beach at Qualicum Bay, a nice semi-rural community. Close to Island Scallops, Fanny Bay Oysters, excellent oysters and seafood there are a number of places where you can buy fresh fish.
There are excellent farmer's markets at Qualicum Beach, 15 minutes drive, ; in Errington, 20 minutes drive, erringtonfarmersmarket.ca; and Comox Valley Farmers Market in Courtenay, 30 minutes drive, . All run on Saturday mornings, so if you want some fresh produce prior to checking in at 4 pm - these are great places to visit. There is a very excellent grocery store in Qualicum Beach (Quality Foods) and a good grocery store (Tomm's) at Bowser, 4 minutes north of the house. Bowser also has shops for liquor, gas, hardware, art, gifts, credit union, library and post office.
You will take BC Ferries from Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo,
or from Tsawwassen to Duke Point, arriving fifteen minutes south of Nanaimo,
These are current schedules, but it's good to check as the schedule can change. We recommend that you make a reservation as in the summer the ferries can get booked which can mean waiting for the next ferry. Once in Nanaimo - you take Highway 19A . We recommend 19A as it is the older route that follows the coast, slower but more scenic and takes about one hour or more. Highway 19, the freeway, takes 45 minutes and you use the Horne Lake, Spider Lake exit and drop down to 19A, Island Highway West, and left (north-west) for aprox., three miles to Qualicum Bay.
We are located at Qualicum Bay ... on the ocean side. The best landmark is the Crown and Anchor Roadhouse Pub on the other side of the road about 200 meters from the house. The pub has good local music (bluegrass, country, acoustic etc) and the food is pretty decent. The Sandbar Café, 300 meters is a pleasant restaurant with live music jams several nights a week and Henry’s Kitchen a Chinese restaurant near by. A burger stand, taco stand and ice cream shop open for the summer in the same area.
